| A mysterious Nazi officer retrieved the Stone of Aja and offered them help in dealing with the Pillar Men and that person turned out to be Cyborg Stroheim himself! Kars might've annihilated the other officers instantly, but his new inorganic body is just what he needed to avoid detection. Most of the Nazis might be busy commiting atrocities around this time, but a very small number of them are busy helping Jojo save the world. |

| I presume Messina and Loggins are similar to the Tonpeti, Straizo, and Dire of Phantom Blood. Messina specifically has not been given much characterization, just enough to be a big brother type teacher who has a personal vendetta against the Pillar Men. They are super expendable(as Loggin’s is already dead) and I could see Messina going out like Dire did. If he doesn’t die he could pull a Straizo and somehow be involved in the next part. If this isn’t the case and he’s more than another body I’ll pleasantly surprised. Seeing him and Caesar elbow Joseph awake was cute. When waiting for a chance to get the stone we had a wonderfully punk page with Joseph getting pissed at Caesar and then getting out of the car to yell at the nazis behind them. Stroheim somehow lived and the nazis have been spying on Joseph’s gang, which is a reminder that they have eyes everywhere. The detail that the thug who tried to steal the Aja wasn’t just an excuse for exposition, but a nazi in disguise attempting to steal the stone themself was a nice way to bridge that over and make it more important. It also felt quite charming for Stroheim to leave Joseph in the dark over his identity, he is a bully after all. Later that night before they had a chance to meet for some cooperation, Cars had already tracked them down. His move where he used his bone-blade to kill all the nazis he could sense before even entering the room was super cool and it made me wonder if all the Pillar Men are categorized through use of body, blood, or bones. Wham’s Sandstorm is the rigorous twisting of his arms, hence his body. ACDC and his tactics involved his magma hot blood and his veins. Cars has only shown his bones as his weapons so far, construing them into weapons. Regardless, he couldn’t sense Stroheim! Not because of my first guess, that he used the stone mask and had cold blood, but presumably because his mechanical body didn’t send off the same heat as his peers. It looked like the bone didn’t even cut his mechanical hand. Stroheim’s back baby!!! I like this, it was a shame he was so quick to leave the story before. |
