Not bad actually. I just love the free spirited atmosphere of this episode as Birk and Ronja is out in the nature which imo gives a breath of fresh air.

At the same time, I think it's also important to see how they are trying to survive by themselves by hunting and fishing. Important outdoors skills like that will keep them alive. And they also manage to tame a horse too so I expect some horse riding soon.

Well, that argument sounded like a legit couple's fight to me (dropping the pet names... uh-oh). But why did they not look for the knife first before they shouted at each other? Anyway if it weren't for all that, perhaps they wouldn't have found the mare and get themselves milk again, so all's well that ends well...

The dialogue and expressions this episode are so on point; Ronja obviously longing for Matt, Birk sounding so hurt after Ronja called him a 'dirty devil' and calling Ronja 'robber's daughter' in turn, and that guilt when he looked at the blade. Also, it was made clear that Ronja's taking after her mother with that commanding tone.

Lastly, sweetness overload when Birk declared that Ronja's more important than a thousand knives (and Ronja replying with something that Lovis would say to Matt)... ^_^

It was quite the heartwarming episode.

The whole notion of being defensive and putting the blame on the other person! It was a bit hard to watch Ronja and Birk argue and get all mad at each other :(

Learning to value and appreciate the moments shared only when they are gone and henceforth! Really liked the emphasis of Birk being all alone in the cave. It really is true that the person staying feels more lonely as Birk can see the differences of life without Ronja. It really was great to see him started running and looking for Ronja.

Meeting and helping a mare and again with Ronja like nothing even happened. Making up comes so naturally at the right situation and it was definitely nice to see. Birk expressing his love and Ronja's importance in his life >.< xD

Well anyways, more harpies (!!!) and horses for next week.

Yeah that fight was obviously a pointless one like Ronja said, I think it's just because tension was running on high as they complained about eating grilled salmon everyday and having to work so much just to carve bowls with the knife. And they're kids, so arguments happen and results in lots of angry words and name calling. I'm glad they learned from this though, it was really cheesy yet cute of Birk to say that he realized that Ronja means more than a thousand knives to him ^^ (Still, I think it was kind of Ronja's fault because she did have the knife last it seems lol. BUT she did not lose it.)

Poor mare losing her foal. So Ronja named the mare "Lia." What a pretty name for a beautiful horse.

So after the honeymoon, a lover's spat, and they make up. I love how the narrator said that Ronja was repeating Lovis' words! I really love the two of them and their relationship.

7 more episodes to go... will everything be concluded smoothly in that timeframe?

such a nice well rounded atmosphere
"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

That kind of fight is so typical of relationships. It was a nice touch to show the audience Birk's memories of Ronja and how he missed her.

Drinking the mare's milk was a nice little detail. I wonder how many viewers cringed at the thought of mare's milk? In fact, the Mongols and other steppe nomads drink it (or used to) as a staple of their diet.

It's nice to see they finally have their horse at last, but what about that Harpy in next episode!!

just like lovers, quarrel then make up. ah oh!...what a beautiful nature healthy episode, too bad about the mother horse, lost a foal but at least they named it "Lia". Next up, taming wild horses...that would mean a lot of body pain!

The poor horse lost its foal :/
But it was wonderful to see how Ronja and Birk took care of the injured horse.
And I'm glad they made up with each other.

I expected to cringe a lot this episode because kids' quarrels are usually poorly done in anime, but this was cute from beginning to end, nice feat director. Birk's ability to switch into serious mode is a part of it I think (like going looking for Ronja or saying she's precious to him). For Ronja it was all the Lovis' attitudes.

I thought Ronja took things a bit far. She kinda overreacted imo, but I'm glad things were resolved. I wonder if we're going to actually see this bear that they keep talking about.

So the got themselves a milk and horse. And it seems there will be more horses next time.

I just hope they won't go back to square one after this. I really want to see some further developement because it's what this story needs.
