THIS IS A NOVEL ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS VOLUME.

With the one-sided annihilation against a horde of zombies last volume, I am duly curious in seeing what volume 3 will bring, especially with the tease of Shalltear's rebellion. Her combat mode cannot be explained with any other than "badass." Solution Epsilon is one femme fatale, I actually enjoy her various personalities from her pretending to be a spoiled daughter of a merchant, to the respectful battle maid, and to when she is looking at "prey." XD

Isn't volume 3 the last volume in the Overlord light novel?

If I remember correctly, there was a Overlord 2 Light Novel that continued after this, unless it was the WN?

The Overlord LN is ongoing with 8 volumes. As for the WN it's completed I think, but considerably different from the LN version+it has no Albedo.

I'm surprised Shalltear's padding didn't get out of place in that fight...

This actually gave a good chance to Ainz to prove his ability to his superordinates and make their respect for him rise even more.

But the way he just disposed of those adventurers showed his evil nature and how inhuman he has become. Yes that one guy was an asshole to him BUT the others were not and yet...

They were all thieves in the end and brought no real benefit to Nazarick other than fodder to test the defenses. He gave them the option to back out. They didn't take it. Why would he care about nobodies who don't gain him anything. He's not running a charity here.

The only reason some readers feel for them is because they know more about them than Ainz since they have the omniscient view point of following them around before they took the job

Lol, completely wrong Volume dude. I know what you are talking about because this is a re-read so i've already read that volume too but this doesn't belong in this volume discussion so i can't comment my objections.

Never have I felt the thrill of battle conveyed through words alone. Since I'm new to reading LN's, this is bound to happen, but this battle is particularly vivid. I might even go as far as saying that the battle is more detailed even without all the awesome visuals from S1 of Overlord anime where this battle between Ainz and Shalltear.

Shalltear VS Ainz was great in the anime and freaking amazing in the LN. It gives us a good glimpse into how the fights must have gone down between players in the game. On to bullying the poor lizardmen next.
