| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The harpie always gives me a bad vibe in this show tbh. Good to know that Birk found her. I bet he was the last person on Earth who would of came to recuse. A decent episode overall. I think Ronja needs to toughen up a bit though in the wild if she wants to survive. |

| Can't begin to imagine how scary it would be to be stranded like that thinking that it is over. The harpie looking when Ronja was trying to hide :O Hope its claws didn't hurt too much. Birk coming to the rescue! It really was cute to see Ronja cry at the sight of Birk and again after Birk got her out. How she looked back while going home to make sure Birk was there, she being insecure was really cute ^^ Ronja asking Birk to be siblings together and how she requested to be called Ronja >.< Birk agreeing before going back to walk home. Ronja smiling like that and comes tomorrow being sick! |

| Harpie was damn scary. I'm surprised after the terrifying encounter, Ronja was still able to say to the harpie (even though it already left) that all the harpie will find tomorrow is a lump of ice instead. Omg. Birk. He's just so adorable and so patient <333 such an endearing kid, seriously. He's all smiles and so positive. When Ronja kept turning around to make sure that he's still there, he would smile, wave and whistle. He walked her all the way back, and when she said she would like him to be her sibling, he replied if that's what she wants. Stop being so perfect Birk. But oh dear, Ronja seems to have caught a fever after not being able to move in the cold for so long. Mattis is going to flip next episode haha. |
| Them harpies reminds me of so much of Orochimaru. The only (big) difference is that, Orochimaru is fabulous and they are not. Just when Ronja almost gave up on her life, brave kid Birk appears. Loved how he rescued her and even saw her off until she was safe enough on her way home. Good guy, Birk. Good episode. Ah, Ronja has caught a cold. Mattis' will run amok once again. |

| When Ronja was covering her eyes and peaked out, holy crap that did scare me a bit. Made me feel very uncomfortable at the least, when the harpie cocked its head. >__< Wonder if Ghibli could do a horror. XD BIRK. BIRK. BIRK. BIRK. BIRKKKKKK. I LOVE THIS KID. His attitude, his kindness.... and Ronja's new found trust and friendship in him was so sweet! And asking to be siblings... though I believe "kyoudai" means brothers, so it was technically an oath of brotherhood, but same implication. Ronja's a tomboy anyways. THAT WAS SO FREAKIN" ADORABLE. I LOVE BIRK. So much suave, dammit. I want to see him and his relationship with Ronja develop even more!! Does she discover a passage in the castle connecting to the other side next episode? |
| That harpie, the sound effects they used and its movement... that was actually a pretty creepy moment. Also.. so much snow D: I am glad it is not me who is going to shovel that. There had got to be around 5-10 meters at the watchtower. |

| Wow! The harpie scared me more than most horror flicks! And I never get scared from horror flicks! LOVE this episode! This is actually the scene I find the most boring in the original movie, so Ghibli made a wonderful job of making it more intense and heartfelt! YES!! YES YES YES!! I remember mom telling me that there was a part that was not used in the movie where Ronja got really sick! I never got that far when reading the book and now FINALLY!! After 15 years I'll get to see it!! |

| Birk is a true bro. Incidently I really like the harpies, I hope we'll see their hideout at some point . Also that scene where Mattis finds Ronja. Lots of quality scenes this episode. |

| The people who are rejecting this series outright because of the CG are fools. I too prefer old school cel animation, but I'll accept CG if all the other aspects of the show are top-notch, as is the case here. The Harpy was fantastically realized; it's cry, movement, expressions, and speech all combined to give it a air of sheer menace. When Ronja begins to loose hope I really felt for her plight. Shiraishi Haruka does outstanding work expressing Ronja's despair. The rescue scene was particularly well-done, and Birk and Ronja's acceptance of one another as siblings in spirit was believably played. This is a series I would recommend to anyone. |
| Ugh the harpie. Its so creepy and nasty. The scenes in this episode were so well done. I love the sibling relationship between Ronja and Birk, but poor Ronja ;-;. That scene when Ronja's father was looking for her(if it were true) would've been absolutely heartbreaking. Good thing that it didn't happen, but it really did portray Ronja's situation very well. |

| so scary that scene with the harpie :0 give me chills XD (especially when Ronja was trying to hide, covering her eyes ... really good job in that scene ) and Birk came to the rescue ... yay o/ loved the way back to the castle.. Birk escorting Ronja all the way back... and so cute Ronja always looking back to check if Birk was there... looking forward to the next episode... is always great to see Mattis freaking out XD (and looks like Ronja don't will be sick for long.... thats great too :) ) |

| That Harpie scene was great! The music and the scary suspense. It was scary! And it was great! Yes, BIRK! They're the greatest pair so far. Maybe the year? (lol) Ronja cries, scared out of mind as she should be, and Birk is just smiling. "Boku wa Kyodai" Kyaaah~ |

| This episode was really beautiful... the whole thing with the harpie was honestly horrifying but Birk oh my god how that kid warms my heart, his interactions with Ronja are just so beautiful |
| My expectations weren't high, but this is hands down my favorite show of the season. Reminds me so much of the stuff I watched when I was a kid. Also, Birk and Ronia... Only siblings? C'mon... XD Though I wish more people would get over the CG and give this show a chance. T_T |
