Sounds like a dark fantasy episode, especially with Iona's story.

Pretty tragic stuff and revenge is no doubt in mind. Ulith also looks like she's ready to take the fight to them. Poor Tama ;_; Safe to say shit got real this episode and oh Aki, you just had to go do that? Pretty excited to see how this will transit next time.

I don't think so either. Hurt badly, yes, dead, that's still up in the air.

Great episode, and I really like Iona's character development, and how she's finally accepted Ruko as a friend.

...Quite the episode...

It was nice to see how the Selector battle all started within Mayu's imagination that gained reality. Iona and Tama being the first friends of Mayu.

That temporary corruption of Tama to defeat Iona and Ruko... that was something to see dark Tama hit Iona like that.

Akira reaching for that pen, good thing it didn't happen in the room they were in. The camera moving as Akira stares at Ulith and the music along with it. Stabbing her and leaving, what an ending!

So we finally get to see the evil/insane Tama that has been foreshadowed since the beginning.
And I knew that Akira had pretty much lost it, but I didn't think she would actually stab Ulith. I'd like to think that will be the end of her, but I bet it won't be.

Now this is really getting somewhere.

So Akira reached the point where she starts hurting others, she really went insane now.
Question is what will this mean for the rest of the girls?
Especially after the ending of this fight we can conclude that Ruko will be out for a while seeing the state Iona was in.

And what will Maya do now the truth about her has been told?

The anime is badly directed, written and the script is shit. Theres not much to think when everything goes in a shallow and vague pace.

I thought Akira would stab Ulith's face... I guess theres more drama to happen between them (Aki-revenge?), but still, her insanity is an answer to the 'love seed' Ulith planted in her, I think it was a rather logical and beautiful conclusion to see this happening.

Still, the anime is already reaching its final part (2/3 episodes already done), and I think this season won't be the last, considering the empty-slow pace each episode brings. I think that a 3rd final season or a film could still appear to conclude the series, unless they rush the whole stuff.

As for the episode, I'm kind of pissed at how Iona's character has changed so drastically. Next ep is a breather. Chiyori vs Hitoe?

Even for someone who has always been lonely from the start, Mayu is one vicious bitch; creating a game from her imagination and setting up such twisted rules just for the sake of revenge against the other girls. (That didn't quite sound like revenge, but more like extreme jealousy).
Iona covered a lot of contents in her speech. Too bad, she got injured quite badly there.

So, Ruko finally lost for the first time ever. That Dark Tama was epic! Never seen a such strong attack that broke the platform before!

Aki-lovely has become even more crazier now. That stab caught me off guard. Pretty sure Ulith will survive though.

Good episode. Chiori is battling again? This girl needs to be turned into LRIG before she realizes the horror of becoming one.

Maybe I could have a different opinion if I actually played WIXOSS? There's nothing to get from those battle scenes if you don't know about the game, and the animation barely speaks about the cardgame itself. In the end are we just supposed to watch it and yell "Yeah, go Tama!!" or "Nooo Ruko don't lose!"?
Every episode reveals little about the story (this have been happening since season 1), focusing mostly on ambience and tension. From the beginning of each episode we can feel that something tragic will approach any time. Thats not bad at all, but theres little substance above that, it feels like they're making all those episodes slow paced so they go according the schedule.

Aside it, voice mixing (extremely unbalanced with the ambience and sometimes with the other characters' voices), music selection (especially the nedless "extreme" dubstep that played in some battles, I can even tell if its the same song or there are different tracks) are other points I think the production should have worked more carefully.

You're giving it a pretty high score, so I suppose there are things I didn't properly paid attention or realized, would be nice if you could point then.

Holy fuck. This fucking episode man. Just like episode 8 of season 1, this did not disappoint. I mean the whole series was a buildup to this episode basically. We got the truth behind Mayu and her intentions, the creation and process of LRIG's and selectors, the full circle on Tama and Iona's development, EVIL FUCKING TAMA, Wixoss battling being shaken to its core with the selector getting interfered with physically, and of course Akira going all the way crazy. I don't think Ulith will die, we still need to know more about her taking Iona's role. Though it's safe to say her true wish is probably to aid Mayu in making anyone and everyone suffer.

The dark atmosphere that they've been spamming us with since day one sure did have its payoff this episode. Especially the ending, that is how you capitalize on a moment that's been well built up to. That was insane and awesome and I loved it even though I've always hated Akira.

I can only hope the last four episodes maintain this momentum, because if it does and depending on the script this could be something special.

Finally, the puzzles are now connecting to each other. The scene from the first season (1st episode) makes sense now. Man, poor Iona but dat Dark Tama Lvl 5 was something.

Chiyori vs Hitoe next time huh? Please please please solve the incoming plot hole why Hitoe regained her memories of Ruko and Yuzuki. And what is Chiyori's wish (now that I think it, the title of the next episode connects to this)
The world shall know the truth soon.

It was a good episode, with the story being revealed, but I have to say that (sorry if I'm ranting) Mayu's "loneliness" doesn't justify her destroying girl's dreams and all that. I just find it plain mean and selfish. Sorry, but i had to get that out.

No big surprise in this episode more just filling in the clues. Evil Tama we can finally see.

The Mayu story was pretty interesting.

Akira stab well position is a I thought she was going to stab Tama. As for the idea of death on her victim the wound is not that deep so it be unlikely with proper medical attention. Still a great scene. But who really knows the show could do whatever the fuck it wants.

BTW Akira gets the most epic music ever.

I laughed when Ulith got stabbed. That was great. The only thing I like Akira for, though it would've been better if she stabbed Ulith in the heart for sure death. Maybe she just wanted to stab Ulith but not necessarily kill her.

I don't even know what to think of the whole Mayu back story. Okada Mari has interesting ideas but I feel like the execution of it is not done very well, as this episode's reveal reminds me of a later episode in M3. The creepy, mysterious, and tension-filled atmosphere is done right, but the script on the other hand could use some work imo.

It's a Nice Episode.
With a Start of Iona/Kuro Explaining how Selector Wixoss came to become what is it today.
Then Explaining Kuro and Shiro is Part of Mayu, so Shiro/Tama have the Ability to re-write the Rule or Reality....

When Tama become Darkness Level 5, Ru brought back a Foreshadowing Nightmare from Season 1 right after she meet Tama. Now it Finally Explain that Tama can either become total Darkness ot total Light.

Well, Akira is being Lovely Yay~ >w<
I really thought she gonna give Ulith a Same Scar on her face same as Akira so that they can become more alike~
Hmmm, kinda wish Akira Took Tama...

Overall this a Sweet Episode~ Yay.

I really hope Ulith isn't just a 1D villain. Because so far, there haven't been any redeeming traits to her character whatsoever. Doubt a single stab from a pen will start to change her in a drastic way somehow. Maybe that will even make her stereotype explode even more, but we'll see about that.

I'm glad we finally learned about the origins of WIXOSS, but definitely far from to their fullest. Not to mention the entire realization.

The atmosphere on the other hand was very gripping in this episode.

While it is nice to hear the whole backstory of how the selector battles come about, I find a little...Surreal? Like how did Mayu's imaginary turns into reality?-Although her imaginary sure is wild and scary...Probably from the lack of contact from the outside world...
And then, Tama's dark transformation to lvl 5-Kinda remind me of Greymon becoming Skull Greymon instead of Metal Greymon in digimon.

Okay, so I'm really liking this season, and I liked how they took time to explain the whole selector thing, but I feel like there are still some plot holes.

First of all, if Kuro and Shiro were just Mayu's imaginary friends, and the whole selector thing was in her imagination, then does that mean that every selector is a figment of Mayu's imagination? Like, her maid walked in and saw Mayu talking to herself, and the selectors in her room looked imaginary, so how exactly did this whole selector thing comer into being in the first place?

Also, if Kuro and Shiro were the only two LRIGs, then wouldn't that mean that there could only be two selectors? Because whether you swap places with your LRIG, or if your LRIG leaves to find a new selector when you lose, how are new LRIGs added? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding something.

But despite these plot holes, I think the show is still great! It's been intriguing ever since the first season, and they keep throwing in dark twists to make it even better!

That ending, though O_o Aki-psychopath!
