Furuya is pretty damn awesome still as an ace pitcher.

The atmosphere of the game is intense, not just for him but also their catcher as well. It's like you can almost feel being there. Still though, the way their coach wields a bat with that expression is just something else. Ejiun also made an awesome play there imo.

People always say there too much furuya but sawamura always comes up after furuya and throws well. Sawamura ends the games not furuya.

Yay, Sawamura is pitching now, I liked how he was acknowledged.
The scene where Furuya handed the ball/spirit was done well.
Seeing Furuya's determination was nice, though he was a tad stubborn at the end, not that it wasn't understandable or anything..

I enjoyed the management's team strategy.

This is my favorite episode out of the series so far. Lmao Sawamura always finds new ways to screw up, I did not expect that one. But the follow up to that was awesome, I could really feel the emotion in this episode.

I really hated how stubborn Furuya was in the end... I kept screaming in my head for him to leave the mound already. What a boring and annyoing character he is... Sawamura instead should get a hell a lot more focus than Furuya. I'm glad Sawamura is pitching now, it was really exciting when he took that batter out. Now if the series would just focus more on Sawamura that would be great.

YEAH! Sawamura it's time to pitch. And please don't tell me next ep is a recap episode.

Also I just realized that the band that did the first op did this seasons op as well. I like it when an anime does that; especially when they use another one of their songs instead of just the same one over and over and over again, I'm looking at you hunterxhunter -_- but yeah they should be like Kuroko no basket's gran rodeo.

Furuya get off the mound :( If he had gotten off earlier, he wouldn't have had to hear Miyuki's brutal honesty. I love how everyone else on the team is so supportive, and then when Miyuki tells Furuya like it is, everyone goes o_o because Miyuki's so harsh. Yeah it's understandable that Furuya doesn't want to give up the mound, no pitcher does. But you have to get off when you're told, especially if it's for your own good as well. That summer heat is taking a huge toll on him, not to mention the high number of pitches the other team is making him do. He just doesn't have the stamina for it, even if his mind is still in the game.

Anyways, wonderful first pitch Eijun! Show em what you've got! They all think Eijun's an easy one just because his pitches aren't fast like Furuya's, but he's got them confused >:D And I love the senpai abusing him as always, yet supporting him at the same time. Lastly, Eijun has the guts to pitch so closely to the batter even under pressure from the coach! He has a great weapon.

I just absolutely love this anime. It's just THE anime I wait to see every Saturday (along with Nisekoi). Can't even begin to put in words how amazing this is. I hope this gets a good 60+ episodes.

Same here! This is my most anticipated anime every week. And yes, hopefully more and much longer number of episodes. And I can't stop laughing with that almost screw up throw by Sawamura. If I was his teammate I will also freak out. Haha. Go Sawamura! Now, time to score some runs (although I guess it will be a recap episode next week? hopefully not).

Respect to Furuya, it's gotta be tough to give up the mound so early in. Sawamura's pitching is really intense, but he has me cracking up as always.

On a side note, I think what's great about baseball anime is that the side conversations fit perfectly with the pace of the game. The flow isn't broken unlike in something like basketball or soccer.

I really hope this can be one of those 100+ episodes. I can't get enough of this. I don't think I'll ever get tired when Sawamura pitches. Its always so interesting and everyone on the team seems to be full of his spirit.

Totally agree with you. Doubt someone can give up the mound that easily that early. Though it's good to see Sawamura pitch as well. Also, what's with the assistant coach (don't know what his name or his actual position is), he's always doubting everyone. You'd think he'd learn to simply trust the coach's judgments.

Oh, and there are two Tanba's in this scene (around 05:15 in the episode). One sitting in the back, one standing just in front of him, haha.

Looks like next week will be some sort of recap episode. Can't say I'm looking forward to that...

This episode was amazing. Furuya's fighting spirit and his determination to keep pitching is just so touching. I felt so bad for him when he was called to switch out. However, I loved that moment when Sawamura was like 'leave the rest to me'. :D My goodness, Sawamura's pitching were AWESOME! He also inherited Furuya's fighting spirit. Gosh, this episode. Definitely one of my favourites now. :DD

Well , it was a nice episode , but the anime is really getting slow. I mean , okay about Furuya's feeling , but was it needed to make it long to almost 10 minute ? same for when sawamura was on the mound they took to long before to let us see him throw. I'll keep on watching Daiya no Ace , but those boring scene are starting to make me upset , i mean on a 20 minute episode we haven't saw a lot.. nearly nothing...

This was an epic episode with Sawamura being sort of recognised as a decent player with a lot of guts but we didn't get much action in this episode, Furuya threw a few pitches and then Sawamura threw like 3 pitches....end of episode. I love this show but I'm thinking I should probably let it stack a few episodes and then watching the series like that rather than watching it weekly, which is what I've been doing.

because when I think he can do it, always mess up... -.-

Eh... Furuya and his drama! :/
Yeah for Miyuko to tell him to go xD

Finally Sawamura get back his "main character" vibe!
After such long time!

He gonna mess up at first,
and second will be cool and serious xD

Yeah, can't wait to see next episode!

It's amazingly satisfying when Sawamura is finally allowed some spotlight and actually manages to deliver. Plus, he's an incredible fun character on top of that. :D Ejun, you still have so much to learn, but you're on the right path. :D And you're an actual member of the team. =P
I mean, everyone's annoyed by him, but I think they like him just as much.

The downside to this anime is they give far too much screen time to a character that is not likeable and does not talk as much, which is Furuya. It is not that I don't like his guts, I just don't see anything interesting about him and the way they try to glorify him. I too was glad that much more likeable Sawamura got his chance.

I hope they are not trying to build a Rukawa x Sakuragi sort of rivalry between these two. Rukawa was a far cooler character and even he wasn't as impressive for not having many talking lines in Slam Dunk.

Please more of that.
