Every chapter this dude Denji is becoming more and more comparable to Shinji, and I find it annoying a bit cause it’s become repetitive and it’s just the same Makima shit all over again. Though, it’s really been this way since the eternity devil really. But hey, at least there’s a goal now… that’s… something. |

| This is practically a physical and metaphorical repeat of the events from Part 1, and I don't think it was in a beneficial way, to put it as politely as possible. I wonder if Fujimoto is having rouble trying to figure out where to go with the story at the moment, now that he's been pressed with a Part 2 even though I felt like Part 1 was a conclusive enough ending as it is. |

| I think people commenting on development reversal kind of miss the point that Denji is at his absolute lowest here. He lost everything, his mind is weak, and he has nobody. The central point of this chapter was the "I'm so glad there's still someone out there who likes me", that's peeling back the deepest layer. Fujimoto isn't stupid, he knows Denji is making the same mistake again. I say, continue to let him cook. I think this chapter will be used to make a broader point in the end. |

Can someone remind me… Has Yoru ever said that she has something against “Death”? Like her motivation to beat her sister?

| Fujimoto I need you to turn this up. I still have faith but I cant say I am hyped about what is to come. The last panel of Yoru resembling Makima was amazing. Outside that, is there a point in using the exact same plot device once again? I hope we learn about Yoru's motivation. All in all both she and Public Security want the same thing, so it's pointless to have them fight against each other one more time. |
| Chainsaw man has become the newest iteration to Highschool DXD. We've got scantily Highschool girls, a buffoon protagonist who gets power ups based on the premise of sexual gratification, and a cast of villains of cosmic proportions that are fodder to infantile notions. While I do like Chainsaw Man, all of part 1 and a good chunk of early part 2, it does feel to have lost the sauce. If we are truly at the endgame, and we're about to see the big climactic end to the series, it will have been a huge disappointment, as the buildup to it all has been extremely lackluster and boring. It doesn't feel like anything that happened before laid the groundwork for anything that is happening now. Even Nayuta, which was the fucking ending to part 1, feels like an afterthought. Though I won't write off the idea that she'll still return somehow, in some way, and things will kick off of that. But my point still stands. The fact that people are actually distracted by the sexual foreplay of the past two chapters sends me spinning. WHO FUCKING CARES?! It's Denji fighting the same losing battle with his penis. He's a slave to it. Since the beginning he wanted to get laid, and now at the finish line, he still will do anything for it. Maybe all it was he ever had to do for poon was to kill a god. Now lets think on those implications of this literary masterpiece. Truly Fujimoto is a philosopher of our time. |

| @eightdollarwater I do understand this is what he was going for, but it rings hollow to me when the pacing has failed to deliver any of this in a compelling way. Denji lost everything he had that "grounded" him before within a couple of chapters, all of it happening extremely fast. Part 1 has done this already, so we can look to that as reference of how it can be done right, and there I felt Denji underwent the development of his friendships with aki and power, and we see him lose them both and experience that melancholy in an emotional and believable way. These past chapters have been so eager to progress the story with some new beat or showcase that we've had no time to actually allow Denji to even express what his current state of mind is. Him going "GAH" "BUWAH" to a woman grinding on him isn't compelling, it's infantile. He was already showing a lack of development from the very beginning of part 2, and I thought he was a weaker part of the whole narrative on that point, as Asa would steal the show as the more interesting thought out character in comparison. It feels like the more time is spent on Denji, the less there is to actually pick out from him. I'm of the opinion, that Denji at the near end of part 1 was the most interesting version of himself, and we haven't seen a proper return of that character since. I'm still waiting. |

| Being manipulated and used by someone who never gave a shit about you sucks (Makima), but being manipulated and used by someone who seemingly does give a shit about you just might be worse in some ways (Yoru via Asa). Poor Denji. Also poor Asa; the panel where Yoru mentions her and there is an empty chair really drives home how powerless Asa is with her physical and social autonomy... Yoru has made Denji and Asa her playthings. |

| @CUM_enjoyer Couldn't have said it better myself. This manga is just terrible, one of the worst shounen I've ever read. The pacing is just as terrible as part 1's, if not worse. At the least, Highschool DXD doesn't seem to try to be something it's not, it knows what it is. This stupid manga tries so desperately hard to be "shocking" and "deep" that it just falls flat because Fujimoto literally does not know how to write a proper character arc. This manga is as deep as a puddle, and that's being generous. |
