Am I the only one who finds this series really underrated?

I did not mean the rating. What I meant was it's popularity among the people. I'm currently reading the manga and it has soooo much potential. The animation is not bad at all.

What y'all feel about this series (both manga and anime)?

I think it just had poor timing for its release window. 2023 was already stacked year for TV adaptations, and the season it aired it was competing against JJK, bleach, BSD, MT, and horimiya. Not to mention how summer 2023 basically seemed to be defined by the hype/discord of zom 100.

Yep, was a good show well produced. Sadly it will never get attention now because DanDaDan used a lot of similar themes plus aliens and turned up the hype to 11. Anyhow, I’ll always remember it fondly.

You’re not the only one, this genuinely needs a second season, this is one of the best supernatural animes I’ve ever watched and it’s done right and gives me chills sometimes by how brutal it is.

It was one of my favorite animes of 2023. Granted I may have had many favorite animes of 2023 but still this series in particular was great. Breaks my heart at the lack of popularity. It sucks that we'll probably never get a second season.

I plan to read the manga but I tend to prefer to only read/watch finished stuff so it will probably be quite a while before then.

That's the case to be honest. It was a shining star but others were shining brighter.

it's similar to Kyokou Suiri but definitely better. It doesn't have annoying characters, it's more funny, theres no slowburn.

I hope dark gathering will get a second season

Me too.... I can't get why Dandadan is so popular even if the lore is so similar to Dark Gathering one (seems like Dark Gathering tell a joke and Dandadan repeated it louder lol) but maybe it is due to Shounen Jump magazine while Dark Gathering had smaller advertising😔
