Disregarding the age of his soul because that is not an issue dealt with under law, Aqua is currently 18 in the anime while Akane is 19. And ‘making out’ is not subject to any legislation in Japan. Also they could marry at 16 in Japan with parental consent.

BTW how old were you for your first erotic experience? Statistically 15 is the average in the western world. Law does not stop people from doing what they like with their own bodies.

I just looked and it seems things are changing, whether it’s the data gathering practices or the honesty of those surveyed. It was certainly reported as 15 around the millennium in Europe. Yes I could have checked first, but it hardly affects the discussion to nitpick my mistake. But either way, 30% of under 16s are sexually active, it’s the late starters (mostly MAL members it seems) who raise the figures.

@DragyG I just want to add one thing, I wasn’t trying to prove anyone wrong. It was healthy discussion of the topic raised. I was genuinely interested in the viewpoint of the originator. And I too am European and started age 20. But my daughter has told me recently that she was 14, her bff was 13, and most of her class were active at around that age. Probably a result of internet porn and kids getting mobile phones with video capabilities. I don’t know whether to believe statistics or life experience.

Well 'I believe the statistics I manipulate myself' they say.

Most people won't answer honestly about this and even more teens when we know how they are easily manipulated by social pressure. Like your daughter's class may have lied to look like they were more mature while most mature people know it's not the age that matters the most but mutual free and aware consent.

It's also possible some social groups tend to do it faster than other and parents mostly putting their children in a school that represent's their own group you might be tricked into thinking her class' case is representative of the society.

Anyway as long as children are free and aware when they consent it's a no problem for me

Given that some Buddhists believe that we are all reincarnated hundreds of times, it may be difficult to get relevant information to make that calculation! But I imagine you mean only for the lives they can remember, which makes more sense.

I was out of date with that, now the statistics say it’s 17. I don’t 100% believe that, more like kids are less honest when surveyed. These surveys are probably done at school, so admitting you have a 3 figure body count at 15 may lead to consequences 😂
But don’t take my number as fact, I’m old and things have moved on apparently.
