This was one of the best-directed episodes I've ever seen. I'm anime only so this whole thing took me for a loop! First off the kiss I WAS NOT EXPECTING! Ruby is my favorite character and I was freaking out the entire time, and she finally knows about what happened a long time ago and is trusting Aqua. I HOPE AQUA COMES BACK PLEASE!!! THIS SEASON WAS PERFECT! WOW! Season 3 I'm so hyped for omg!  |

That was some ending... Big Akane W. She deserved it. She did so much for him. She was the best character bar Aqua for the entire season. I thought it's over between them but I am ok with it. But I don't think it gonna last. Not sure how much Akane has figured out and to what extent Aqua has manipulated her, its bit unclear. I am still not sure about their mutual feelings but it's fine for now. Also "Fan-service" in Oshi No Ko lol. Poor Kana though, better luck next season. But enough of side chicks. It's all about main girl. Hoshino Ruby's time has arrived  Welcome aboard, I hope you get off safely. That crow girl looks like have some supernatural connection. With info about her father (I don't know if she know about that) and now she has the goal which Aqua abandoned (for now).. REVENGE for Goro and Ai. Blackstarred Ruby looks scary hot. She was always beautiful but now it's even better. But it's so sad to see such a pure innocent girl gone down this path. From : "He's the one who gave me reason to live" To :"I will definitely, definitely kill him" Idk what Akane gonna do as she knows more about it but Ruby clearly won't let Aqua rest happily for sure.. Kana & Memcho's wish did came true as B-komachi became hugely popular due to their MV. Although the actual Song is downgrade from S1's Sign wa B & Star T train. Still great MV overall but Ruby completely stole the show. The erry vibes she was giving was so good.  Enough Ruby simping..😓 Oshi No Ko became my favourite just from S1 and S2 has elevated the standards even higher. Tokyo Blade arc is too GOATED. Ep 8-9 was Peakest. Aqua revenge acting & then emotional acting through Ai's memory, pure goosebumps Greatest anime moment for me. Private arc completely changed the tone and it was emotional rollercoaster. Ending left on a big hook and the post credit scene of the Father definitely giving me horrible chills( praying for Akane/Ruby). Aqua get this man before he does more harm. Time to catchup to manga I can't wait anymore. Doga Kobo delivered so much for this season..so grateful. One of the best season of Animes if not the BEST. |

| perfect wrap up. doga went crazy with some of the scenes especially ruby's shoot. the music video at the end was the icy on top of the cake. visuals were insane and the song was so catchy. ending has me hyped for next season and seeing all that stuff adapted and brought to the next level by doga. anime of the season fs |
| I've been waiting so long to see that ruby panel animated lawwdd they cooked on this. and POP IN!!! a banger, only problem I have is that anime only fans are confused on who died at the end since they didn't show the short backstory of that girl but its coo. |

| Why do I feel Edgy Ruby will be even more unbearable than Edgy Aqua? sigh* It was a solid finale overall. Not sure if I like the idea of the supernatural aspect returning to the narrative with this Crow loli but guess it's too early to judge. Will have to wait and see whether she plays a bigger role later on... or her character was just introduced because author couldn't think of a better way to have Ruby learning about such critical plot points. Anyways and leaving that aside, I do gotta say I really liked what they did with the "POP IN 2" MV. Showing when each cut was filmed based on the change in Ruby's eyes. That was cool. Now as for the season as a whole... it was okay, I think. Production values remained as strong as in S1 but I feel this season wasn't as well-structured as its predecessor. Tokyo Blade arc, while featuring some visually stunning episodes, had a very slow start and felt unnecessarily long in its execution, and there were also some things I found rather underwhelming such as Aqua blatantly ignoring the fact of his "already dead" father not having blond hair, the Crow loli magically showing up to spill the beans to Ruby and put a somewhat stagnant plot back in track, Ruby somehow figuring out Aqua entered showbiz to find Ai's killer, etc. 5,5/10 -> 5/10 - Still interested in this already announced third season tho. Mainly because of the visual spectacle Doga Kobo always offers when it comes to this adaptation. |

| Oh god, Ruby has completely broken inside to the point where she's now set on finding and killing the person responsible for Ai and Gorou’s deaths. As the white-haired girl mentioned, there were two suspects—one who stabbed Ai, but the other is still at large, and it’s very likely that it's Ruby and Aqua's father. What really surprised me was when the girl said that the person looked like a high school boy. The new B-Komachi music video was amazing, and those scenes with Ruby's black eyes sent chills down my spine. The roles have flipped—Aqua was the one who initially sought revenge, but now it's Ruby. However, with Aqua finding his own corpse, it’s possible he might return to seeking revenge, though no longer for Ai. What a great season finale! And with the confirmation of a third season, I couldn’t be more excited. |

| This ended in a really satisfying place, and POP in 2 is ridiculously catchy. Honestly I think this was way better than the first season which was easily a 9/10 already. The drama here was just perfect on every level, as well as the animation, music, everything |
| Gorou Amamiya's corpse has been found. Does this mean that Aqua's life's purpose is finished here? However, it is still important to remember that Aqua and Ruby's real father is still alive. It's just that, until now, neither Aqua nor Ruby knew about it. Oh yeah, Gorou's death really affected Ruby's mentality and mood. Ruby began to feel a desire to take revenge, just like Aqua so far. Ruby's encounter with a white-haired child also became one of the reasons for the desire to take revenge. However, I have only one question. It seems that the child is under 15 years old (maybe around 12 or 13). However, somehow, she holds a lot of valuable information related to Ai and Gorou's deaths, which she shouldn't know because of her very young age. Does this mean she was also reincarnated like Aqua and Ruby? 3rd season has been confirmed, so let's just patiently wait for it! |

| Last episode was amazing and I can’t wait for next season! Ruby always felt like a passive character, but now it feels like it’s her time to come into the spotlight. I have so many questions about so many things, so I hope the next season comes sooner rather than later. (10/10) |
| Move out the way Aqua, Ruby is the true protagonist ❤️ My girl DESERVES REVENGE, her 2 lives have suck so hard, she needs revenge!!!!!! About Akane, I mean she has shown a lot of improvement, since in s1 she ruined everything by being by far the worst girl, but still, Kana is better. I don't understand, who was that woman dying at the end? I feel like we have seen her before... and she also had the star eyes, is the plot here that their dad just goes around fucking girls and then killing them? Is it really that fuck up? Can't wait for s3!!! |

Meanwhile Ruby is becoming darker in mind, she needs to know that Gorou is actually right near her ASAP! Sheesh we got an actually MV at the end too lol. | I didn't think Yura's hair would be blue, interesting. One of the best adaptations ever and it's not even close. Everything was practically perfect this season, from the Tokyo blade arc to the beginning of the things that's about to come, the movie arc. Post credit scene is getting me so excited for the movie arc. 9/10 aots for me |

But he doesn't paste a visible puff into all the dialogue, nor does he add it to long lines of massive exhalations or loud shouts. Let's play back from '0"52, watchfully.  [about showing Akane the dead body] Akane: It's the murderer's fault, absolutely. Why should Aqua-kun be responsible for that? That's not fair! Aqua: Well, I'm not sure... Akane: That's not! <puff 💨>  Aqua: Akane, thank you for finding him. Akane: I see, that's him, whom Aqua-kun was searching for... But I didn't do anything. It was just a coincidence that... Aqua: Even if that's the case... <puff 💨> I was manipulating things in that way. I've been using Akane for a long time. About my father, about the dead body, and so much more. Sorry.  Akane: Yeah, I knew. I finally figured it out. <puff 💨> I think I can finally verbalize my feelings. You are so kind, and you try to take it all on, and because of that, I wanted to be there for you with all your guilt.  Akane: But I realized. [Akane's voice inside]: Ah, now I get it right, Akane: Aqua-kun, <puff 💨> [Akane's voice inside]: I can say goodbye to you now. Akane: Aqua-kun, you think that you're better off without me, right? It's getting harder for you, isn't it? [Akane's voice inside]: Whoa?? *starts sobbing* The puff is generally following an emphasis on self-validation or a contextual turning point. And yet, the director didn't add the breath puff in the scenes of Aqua's change of mind, the declaration of the end of his revenge, the line "I want to protect you, Akane," and the kiss. I leave it to each of you to interpret what kind of intent this reflects. No breath is depicted in the early morning scene between Ruby and the girl. Just as the walkway turns into a hospital rooftop in the middle of the sequence, this scene is treated as a kind of unreal space. There are no puffs in the daytime shrine scene too. WEATHER Located on the southern side of Japan, Miyazaki Prefecture is generally a sunny and warm place as suitable for honeymoon. The December temperature in Takachiho area is 8 degrees Celsius at daytime and 2 after sunset. Due to the lack of sea breezes, there is usually no snowfall. |
| Oshi no Ko season 2 ended on a high note for me. It's an ironic shift for Aqua and Ruby, the former ending his quest for revenge, but for the latter, her quest for revenge has only just begun. It's going to take me a while to get used to seeing the dark stars in her eyes, although I think this was used really well for B Komachi's music video. I also didn't expect Aqua to do a 180 and kiss Akane like that. While I do feel sad for Kana, I'm happy for Akane now that her feelings for him has been returned. After all that she's gone through, she does deserve this victory and they do make for a cute couple. Having said that, I do see Ruby dragging Aqua back into the revenge mission sooner or later, so who knows if Aqua and Akane's relationship will stay the same or gets altered. Not only did the ED have a unique glitchy effect to it, but the post credit scene also showed another murder taking place. A brutal way to end season 2, that's for sure. Overall, this season did get off to a slower start, but it did get stronger and stronger towards the end. The announcement for season 3 being in the works does make me happy, although I'm hoping that Doga Kobo's staff are given more time to produce the series this time, as a few of their series have been hit by a delay in more than one way over the last few years. 9/10 |
  Gotcha, ex-president Ichigo! The image is borrowed from the official website of «Ichigaya Fishing Center». This is a famous fishing canal in the central Tokyo, using a part of the moat of Edo Castle (now the Imperial Palace). I have never played there but used to watch it from the sidewalk. It is not far from the Tokyo Dome, where (fomer) B-Komachi was once going to hold a concert. A short, 30-minute walk from the dome will get you there. Never thought you were hiding so close. |
| Damn this season may have been slower than the first in terms of following the main plot, since the Tokyo blade arc lasted almost the entire season but the twist and turns we gotten this season have been crazy. - Aqua changing from seeking revenge to wanting to protect Akane and living a peaceful life. - Ruby´s personality changing from cheeerful and energetic to full revenge mode is crazy. - Akane and Aqua actually dating!! (poor kana) - Aqua and Ruby´s half-brother?! - First appearance of Aqua and Ruby´s father. Damn I can´t wait for the next season. Hopefully I´ll have caught up with the manga before the 3 season airs. |

| That ending caught me completely off guard, I still can't believe it, what a fucking psychopath. How did he know they were there? Does he chase his children, or did the girl with the crows snitch? Why did he kill Akane? He seemed like he knew her... Seriously, I don't know if it's because of the way I am and I've empathized too much, but I want to see him suffer, I'm in the mood for revenge right now. The girl with the crows has to be someone supernatural, I don't believe she is a normal person. Maybe she is the one who made them revive in the children's bodies... anyway, we can't know if she is an ally, or if she is playing. I knew this was not going to be a happy ending. ABSOLUTE CINEMA. |

At the very least you could appreciate some aspect of it.... But actually yes. Yes it HAD to be this long. It was made longer by anime-only scenes, but the anime only scenes are literally the play itself aka the stuff nobody would want to be taken out of the show. Everything else as a purpose for entertainment showcase, character growth, setup/payoff, character psychology, etc.
Some people call it filler, but it’s really not. Everything is a cascade of effects to get where we thanks to some butterfly effect. Problem on the script -> Aqua intervene -> save the show -> needs to emotional act -> reveals stuff to Akane, etc. Everything is a logical consequences from that little scriptwriting issue. It’s brought up beautifully too, Akasaka is a great writer. AND the situation is different after the arc than before, that’s the exact opposite of a filler arc. Filler means the plot didn’t advance, the character didn’t change and didn’t grow. The Tokyo Blade arc is the exact opposite, the characters changed more than in any other arc before in season 1 (beside the prologue arc with Ai’s death etc.).
The prologue is a major arc of course, but Sweet today arc, just introduced Kana, but no character growth, the reality show arc introduced Akane a little bit of Aqua growth but really not so much, the B-Komachi concert arc might actually be a filler arc the characters didn’t grow or leaned shit, but you know it’s necessary. At some point idols need to be idols... The Tokyo Blade arc is actually the first arc where the characters changed so much. We introduced everyone in the main cast, now our character needs to live through some shit and grow. Major change for Akane, major change for Aqua and character growth for Kana too. Both Tokyo Blade and Private are pivotal arc, the show is completely different at the end of season 2 compared to the start.

You don’t need a callback, not everything is a layering stuff for future callbacks. The arc already has a purpose. It changed our characters profoundly and it delivered info about our characters. We didn’t actually knew a lot about Akane or Aqua before this arc. After this arc, we know a lot more about Aqua’s trauma and inner demons, we know about Akane’s past and her relationship to Kana, we know more about Kana’s family too. Akane learned a lot of stuff and joined the revenge plot (you think the revenge is so so important, but you’re overlooking the fact that Akane joining on that is a HUGE FREAKING DEAL and she joined because Aqua infodumped her and he did because he had a panic attack in front of her and he had an attack because of the Tokyo Blade script writing plot!). Aqua literally learned about his "father"’s death and give-up on the revenge, which is also a huge deal. The Tokyo Blade arc has a LOT more depth than just the play and the script writing stuff. More subtle, but this is Ruby’s introduction to the acting world too (reason why they showed Ruby’s reaction to the play multiple times) and as she said to Akane in the Private arc she is now a little bit interested in acting. The arc did fulfil it’s purpose, there is no need for callbacks.
I do understand that by episode 3, you are wondering where all of this is this going, what does this leads to because it’s a long shot. But then every plot point naturally evolves into major plot points that makes the show go forward. And everything important happened as a consequences of the seemingly minor plot points from the first 3 episodes.
You’re probably thinking that all those plot points could be dealt with with a shorter arc and less narration. But narration is what makes a show a show. If not it would just be a fandom wiki summary. It’s a narrative arc not a wiki article. Stuff needs to happen organically and for a reason. They spent the right amount of time to deliver just a little bit by little bit on us each episode. The amount of new info on this arc is huge, making it shorter would be overwhelming with stuff to learn about our characters, and I mean the main cast, not the secondary characters. I like the private arc, but if you ask me, it’s a little bit too dense. They’re dumping too much on us all at once, Tokyo Blade could have been the same but for 5 episodes straight, thank god it was not.
About the characters being "nobodies", all characters start as a nobody till the show starts being about them... I mean, Akane was a nobody introduced into the third arc. You didn’t know she or Mem-cho would be main cast before they were and still you got invested in them. What you actually mean is that they’re not recurring characters (we don’t know that yet either). Which is something that is really really weird to complain about. Narrative arc has new characters only for this arc??? What??? Absolutely shocking! Spoiler alert, season 3 will have more arcs and more new characters that appears for this arc only.

No? The murder mystery only people with short attention-span are very vocal and annoying. But the Tokyo Blade arc is a fan favorite. When you ask what’s your favorite arc, Tokyo Blade is ranked really high.
And it’s more than just entertainment info dump. This arc has everything that makes Oshi no Ko Oshi no Ko. Entertainment world, check. Drama, check, character psychology, the biggest psychology arc so far, check. Revenge plot, also check very important dialogue with Akane, huge reveal with Himekawa, check. Manipulation and mind tricks from Aqua, also check, nice advice given to Melt, plus a few stuff from Aqua himself. Oshi no Ko is a psychological drama about the entertainment world and the Tokyo Blade arc is a psychological drama about the entertainment world, doing EXACTLY what Oshi no Ko does best.
Honestly, if you can’t handle Oshi no Ko at Tokyo Blade you don’t deserve Oshi no Ko at Private. This show is wasted on you. The narration, the psychology, the delivery, the characters, Tokyo Blade isn’t my n1 favorite (my n1 is probably Mainstay right after private, it will be the first arc of season 3), but it’s so great. Easily one of the best arcs. Above every arcs of season 1 that’s for sure (except maybe prologue).

The narration, the psychology, the delivery, the characters, Tokyo Blade isn’t my n1 favorite (my n1 is probably Mainstay right after private, it will be the first arc of season 3), but it’s so great. Easily one of the best arcs. Above every arcs of season 1 that’s for sure (except maybe prologue). |
| Didn't liked how they adapted the last scene ... they cut the content that would make it more impactful, and decided to just show the girl already dying and a random guy appearing in the scene. They could have just cut the ending, and it would be enough to fully adapt that. Wonder if they sill fix that on next season ... |
