Damn, this arc really did give the heroes and villains their chances to shine.

This time, it was Uraraka vs Toga. They had their ongoing rivalry for a long time and, this was their most important and emotional battle together yet. The VA did a hell of a job at protraying their characters imo.

It's the battle of the girls with Uraraka vs. Toga, and for someone like Toga who doesn't quite fit into society with her deviant look, the world had already rejected her before she could ever hope to regain any form of humanity. And as she is, fused with Twice's Sad Man's Parade, the girls feel the same as the guys, but Toga is already too far gone.

Even back in the days of the League of Villains, Toga already decided to have a name for herself, and just like Izuku trying to understand Shigaraki, Uraraka's doing the same with Toga with their long-standing rivalry, be it for evil, or the romantic interests on Izuku that Uraraka has always wanted to converse with Toga back then. Uraraka has definitely grown a lot with her Zero Gravity, but this is her standout moment, and so does Toga as Twice's blood defuses from her.

The girls have tremendous amounts of rizz for this penultimate episode.

The more conclusions i see, the more sad i get knowing my hero academia is about to end.
Again this season shines with absolutely beautiful and emotional moments.
Newsreporter losing hope and declaring its doomsday after seeing sad mans legion. Just for uravity to save the day, with a beautiful spectacle and letting literally everybody and everything float, so she can have some girls talk with toga.

To be honest, I never liked Toga that much as a character, but this episode did a relatively good job at getting me to care for her and empathise with her struggles.

A good end to an otherwise middling character arc.

I was expecting that last scene to be very melodramatic in the anime, so I'm suprised and thankful that they adapted it with a more subdued direction and tone. Thank god for the new director.

Well, I guess that if you tell a girl that she's not human all her life, she will end up believing it.
This episode speaks loudly about parenting and how we raise young girls, stereotypes and what not, all throught a sea of copied men that would eventually dissolve. Very interesting methaphore.

On the other hand, Ochako chan's power has increased a lot. Now she doesn't need to touch you.

That was a weird episode in my eyes. I am glad it is over now and hope we wont see much of Toga again. I just dislike her as a character. But great move of Ochaco to seduce Toga and make her fall in love with her lmao. I guess thats how she can be stopped. Makes at least sense to me. More sense than "talk no jutsu" and "lets talk about love" will fix everything somehow.

So much cringe, some cinema and then a boatload more of super fucking cringe shit. Ultimately, absolutely nothing comes off of some of these female characters. It's a shame considering they generally have elevated so many individual characters with just one episode where these ones don't really have any substance ultimately even though they are considered some of the main characters. It's just so frustrating to see over and over again.

Sometimes all a person needs is the right hand to reach out to them. Toga had been shunned and ostracized her whole life because of what she liked. Now bearing in mind her affinity was for blood and drinking it but still there's better ways to handle things than telling the kid to shove it down and forget. Its easy to make the comparison with Toga liking blood to any number of mental or physical illnesses we have in our world today. Forcing the child to basically just ignore this feeling inside them isn't A healthy way of helping them. In this extreme world of quirks its hard to properly care for each child and its sad seeing how Toga was abused by the system put in place to care for her. Uraraka did an amazing job reaching out to Toga through all this madness of clones smothering the battlefield. Toga has been so conflicted this entire time thinking about what she really wants. It took Uraraka some time but she managed to figure out what Toga needed. All she's wanted is someone to truly see her and admire how cute she is. Uraraka offering not full acceptance because Toga has killed people, but she offers to hear her out which means a lot. Everyone else has just told Toga that she needs to stop and be normal. After the league of villains Uraraka is the first person to just listen to what Toga wants. It was a very beautiful scene watching them float through the sky and hash out how they feel. Uraraka awakening her quirk to make all the clones float. Taking just that extra bit of time till Twice blood ran out. The performances in this episode were incredible with Toga and Uraraka making me cry when we saw them as little girls. How different Toga life could have been if she meet Uraraka back then.

I've to mention a brilliant writing in this episode. We had been told in many of previous episodes that the quirk will grow significantly stronger if the user has or is in a near-death situation. And now one character ask, why Uraraka's quirk can lift all the clone which is definitely weight much more than 3 tonnes (her previous record), without providing answer, you can see that the author ask us, the audience, and the author trust us to remember that, that is because Uraraka is currently in a near-death situation. It's such a minor thing but I want to mention it because I can see that this topic is handled in such a high level of care.

With that said, I still have to criticize the author of habit of putting female characters against female characters. I don't go as far as seeing this as gender discrimination but I'm pretty sure male characters can talk about love too (not all of them obviously).

After the beautifully animated episode last week, this week we are met with the eyesore that is the Sad Man’s Parade lol, of course I understand why they have to all be CGI but when you compare it to even the great looking parts of this episode, yeah… kinda ugly (the copied heroes looked cool tho, their usage was just a bit underwhelming). But that’s pretty much a nitpick in a season that has looked great most of the time, and this episode was a good one too, I like that we finally got a conclusion to Toga’s character arc just like Dabi in the previous one, and I really do like her story and the message it’s trying to convey, she really was just brought up horribly (tho I can’t say her parents’ reactions were completely unjustified), and when you grow up being told you aren’t human, it’s no surprise she turned out this way, and when you look at her backstory and how much Uraraka wanted to connect with her, I can’t help but love this outcome.

But, even if I like this outcome, I never was a big fan of her lol, the whole thing between her and Midoriya never did click well with me, Uraraka being brought into it did make it more interesting and I liked her fights with Toga up to this point, but at the same time I always thought Toga was fucked in the head and didn’t really deserve to be redeemed, I mean after all the shit she’s done there really is no going back. But like I said about Dabi last week, even if the members of the league don’t deserve these endings they’re getting, I can’t lie when I say this shit is sweet lol, the last moments of the episode between Uraraka and Toga were so nice, really if things had played out differently they could have been friends who just had the same crush, and to think Toga just liked Midoriya all this time because he resembled a crush she had as a kid lol, but that’s realistic tho, it makes Toga seem more like a normal girl despite that “cute” smile at the end, it was kinda cute maybe lol.

They also did some new visuals in the ED again, nice touch for these more emotional episodes. And just one episode left of this season, it really doesn’t feel like it should be ending yet but if we’re stopping for now with another battle between All Might and All For One, I think that will make for an awesome finale.

Uraraka is finally able to have a chit chat with the weird Toga in the midst of Sad Man parade basically taking out everything in its way. She was able not only to surpass her qiurk limits but to convey her feelings to her. Albeit cheesy, the dialogue did communicate something and with it only Shiagarki and All for One remain.

We all know that it's not gonna end in just one episode, right?

Do the villains forget why they are villains? Like seriously, at the start of the show we get this diatribes about how awful hero society is to the people that do not fit in it and how fake the security in the society is because no one does anything unless they have a permit from the government saying they can do something but at this point in the story all the villains want is to be loved by whoever is willing to love them. I thought the point of Shigaraki's origin was how pernicious heroes are to the broader society by making all civilians blind to the problems around them and only the big villain is willing to extend a hand to the crying child but it would not surprise me if ALL of the villains forget how much they hate hero society by someone saying I love you.

Reading the manga panels one can interpret the art and the tempo of the fight however they like but the anime would create the definite version of it.
I was really looking forward to ochakos quirk evolution in motion
It was ok but it didnt look exactly as I rememberd.
Obviously I don't like the sympathising with the villains part and ochaco went really far with it and i understand that's the situation demands just like ochako won't talk that she would put her in a cell even if she's not saying a word about it now
World is More than just her parents and house is interesting but again toga perspective must be taken into consideration
It's hard to deal with a kid like toga who won't stop her urges at all
She did portray well a person who's so mad she won't listen to anything
Almost half of next episode would be about about this fights conclusion as we'll know togas fate
This was really a girly fight
Barely any fighting all just talking I guess which makes more sense than western writing right now cause west is in a writing terlet
I hope that new ost was a mix of classic mha tunes like you say run ish and threat will go on. I really like the latter as a choice for toga
Atleast ochaco was strong on her principles which aren't agreeing with villany so I don't dislike her (that much)
