I hate it so much when series switch from chill to big stakes.

@MrPr0ngles After all, the stakes are not much higher than at the beginning, a few dark elements have been added, but the series combines it nicely with cooking and good humor, I think there will still be a lot of chill.

It does look like the way that Falin was revived caught the attention of someone rather dangerous. Here I thought we saw the last of the obsessive dark elf when Laios was jumping through paintings a while back, but this elf is playing a far more important role than I thought. Not only can he use ancient magic, but he's also the lord of the dungeon, so Laios and his group stood no chance against him. Because of this, Laios and Falin have been separated once again. =(

It's nice to see the orc's once more, with this group led by the chief's sister. She's more level-headed compared to her brother, but she doesn't hesitate to say what's on her mind. Thanks to her unique CPR skills on Laios and Marcille, which had me laughing, her time with Chilchuk was pretty interesting, where she played a good part in getting him to be honest and voice out his true feelings instead of resorting on a lie.

As much at it pains for Laios to admit, returning to the surface to restock and regroup is the best course of action before any attempt to rescue Falin can be made.

This episode had its funny moments, but it was a pretty serious one from start to finish. I can only hope that Falin can be truly rescued from the dark elf and his true motives.
@Meta_Yoshi

You basically typed out what I wanted to say. Funny but mostly serious.

This anime is about to pop off, and all the frieren fans will be swarming in.

I personallyy found the mood swings this episode were very well done! We had a sudden spike in seriousness, solid humor sprinkled throughout (Marcille freaking out while Laos was being fed medicine mouth to mouth was very funny), and some genuinely touching emotional scenes. I thought this episode was a pretty fun ride and I'm genuinely invested in seeing where things go!

The game switched paths completely.

I wonder why they refer to the lunatic magician as a man. It looks like a woman to me. The Japanese dialogue isn't helping either to allow me to determine which side it is.

I was actually thinking about this character before this episode. It was unusual and these seemed more behind it.

The episode was good but I hate the trope of the protagonists reaching their goal and having a reset forced on them so they'll have to do their journey over.

See? I was fucking right! That mage called Falin dragon, must be because dragon meat was used to resurrect her and now she's become the dragon? Lol. Also, no food cooking in this episode?

This show is surprisingly heavy. I was watching all of Food Wars! and got this recommended by a friend - i looked it over and was like "huh, sure, cooking and fantasy dungeon crawling - that's my cup of tea"

I was expecting almost non-existent storyline of a party going through a dungeon, cooking up whatever they come across, but it would seem that i was mistaken. The plot thickens and we might be on course for a solid 24-episode anime with a solid story line.

Last time i was so surprised with a Netflix anime was BNA (maybe even Edgerunners). I got into it very fast and i have to say i'm enjoying the show so far.

So that other elf is the next enemy they have to defeat, the poor Falin... joy didn't last long and the group is in an even worse situation than before it feels like, Chilchuck is thinking about strategy and for the safety of the group, we can't blame him tbh

Up to this point, this show is just a bunch of light-hearted dungeon-crawling fun, even the battles. Nothing to comment on. But this episode is the kind of character development I come for. Seeing Chilchuk finally be honest with himself and everyone else for once, and seeing Leed see right through his words and read him like a book just made my day.

Good episode, everything was done well.

Just have a some mixed emotions about some things. I'm not sure I like Falin being taken away again so fast after just getting her back finally. Her character is good, feels like part of the party. Her getting taken away again feels kind of mcguffin-ie. I wouldn't care as much if she was not such a good character that didn't fit in with the party, like some non-adventuring kid sister, but she actually feels like a party member more than the two who quit right in the beginning. I just hope she comes back quickly because her character needs more screen time with how much she hasn't been in the show so far.

The other thing is minor, I like the orc woman...but I'm still having a hard time seeing the orcs sympathetically after her brother wasted a tavern full of humans. I guess I have to tell myself that those humans will be found by the corpse retrieval unit, and revived.

Looks like Falin is mostly dead, only her memories lie within the body. It's probably due to the use of dragon flesh and blood to resurrect her. Even though resurrection seems to be the norm inside the dungeon, I just can't accept something that dangerous to be used so frequently, at such circumstances, consequences will always presents themselves and they will always be much more worse than what they has in the first place.

I got into this anime for some nice chill fantasy / slice of life / comedy with some action elements, and was served really well up to roughly this part of the anime; but the serious change of tone and annoying bad guy ruined the mood for me. Saving the girl to take her away AGAIN is frustrating to watch, also I don't like dark fantasy stuff. To each their own I guess !

@MrPr0ngles I'm the total opposite, I love it when they switch from chill to big stakes, it's the reason I love Steins;Gate so damn much.

Dark, serious animes is my thing, I was kinda getting bored with this anime but it looks like it's starting to get interesting.

The plot thickens! I knew Falin wasn't gonna be properly resurrected, especially using Dark magic and the Red Dragon's remains for calories! It's gonna get better from here!
