| Not a bad movie. I especially liked seeing Jasmine beat Happosai. bubblin said: yeahh... i really hate akane.. her father came all the way for her, dumped in the sea, getting beaten etc etc but she still actin all nice to her kidnapper because ranma makes her angry.. what a b1tch. if i were ranma, i would choose either ukyo or shampoo all the way. Lol, the TV series without Ukyo and Shampoo and even Kodachi would have been a masterpiece, those girls ruined it. And the prince wasn't a bad guy at all, Ranma is stupid anyway, he doesn't deserve to be with Akane. |

| I watched the Blu-ray version of the movie. I hate how Blu-ray editions of these old movies force a 16:9 aspect ratio. It looks terrible zoomed in. The movie's meant to be seen in 4:3 like the TV series, not this abomination. Anyways, a good movie, I guess. A lot of things don't make sense, like how Ranma got a hot spring running inside the pagoda in the final fight, but that's just the series in general. I loved how Happosai got an excellent beating throughout. Akane gets a lot of unnecessary hate but in this movie, she honestly acted like a hoe. Why in the world did she agree to marry that chump? Sure Ranma can be insufferable but that doesn't mean she has to get together with her kidnapper! I would've liked to see more Ukyo and Shampoo though I don't believe they're as good as Akane. |
| ... I think I might have watched this? Like really, I am pretty damn sure I watched this, because I know I watched the main series, and all of the OVAs, and even the fucking live action special, so there's no way I skipped it. Then again, I didn't even remember marketing material for this existing in the US, until somebody (KaiserBeamz) specifically mentioned that they were advertisements that would play on various Pokémon VHS cassettes at the absolute end of each tape. I guess this movie was just that unimpactful for me.π |

| It was ok, not a good Ranma movie though. Seemed like they were trying to parody battle shounens but it just didn't work out as the story wasn't interesting enough. Would've been better off if they ran with the idea of Akane's cooking being good and she changed the Nekonron's rules/way of life, and Akane agreeing to marry Kirin because he appreciated it (and make Ranma jealous). But they threw all that out in a flash for nothing worthwhile. 7/10 |

| Kirin really held the same bowl of rice for several days and including underwater. A man dedicated to his only food source of rice and pickled veggies. The movie was ok. I liked the intro gag of everyone running through town. |

| Pretty good for the first Ranma 1/2 movie, I hate to admit it didn’t quite reach the heights of any of the Urusei Yatsura movies imo but it was still a lot of fun, really it felt like a long episode with movie budget which I’m a fan of. First off, I really liked the ost for the movie, there were definitely a handful of tracks that stood out to me, glad that they never seem to miss on ost in these classic anime, the ending credits song was also great early 90s/80s rock, love it. And I also really liked the backgrounds for most of the movie, being used to the less detailed backgrounds in the main show really made them stand out here, lots of beautiful art there. And when it comes to the plot of this one, it was nothing too crazy, it’s the typical damsel in distress plot featuring some new villains, as well as the resident movie waifu with Lychee who I thought was cute, but she unfortunately didn’t do much in this movie lol, she pretty much just caused all this by not holding on to her part of the scroll and didn’t really do much cool stuff with her elephant beyond the start of the movie, and then she somehow ended up with Kirin at the end despite him being disinterested in her for the majority of the movie, yeah she was a bit of a weak character but I liked her lol. The villains tho were pretty interesting, unique designs and attacks for each of them, including that hot blue haired babe, but most of their fights were short lived or just jokes so they were unfortunately underused, even Kirin’s final fight with Ranma wasn’t that great but I did like the final moments in the swirling water vortex. And I’m seeing a lot of complaints about Akane in this movie, yeah she wasn’t the brightest here but the whole thing with her agreeing to marry Kirin was because she believed Ranma would save her, I don’t really think that was her being a bitch lol. Also yeah it would have been nice if Ukyo could have made the main cast of the movie but she did at least have her part in that grand chase at the start of the movie which was a lot of fun, including lots of side character cameos like Tsubasa who I hope reappears in the show eventually. And before this post gets too long, I’ll stop here lol, but yeah despite my complaints I did like this movie quite a bit, it was simple fun, and there’s just one more movie that aired within the main show’s runtime so I’m definitely looking forward to it, as well as what the rest of the anime has to offer, the remake also comes out very soon at the time I’m typing this so that should be fun as well. |
