Well, Norn can open up after all when she tries. Rudeus responded in most sincere way possible to Sylphy getting pregnant. Episode also shows how much Elinalise has changed since her first appearance. Seems this episode serves a setup for the next episode/arc. Exciting. Good to see Rudeus' family doing well in these emotional times. |

We know, she still isn’t rescued, I mean Paul would’ve let Rudy know if they’ve already found her, so… what? Also, it isn’t like Hitogami tied Rudy’s hands with a rope and wasn’t letting him go anywhere, it was his own choice when he decided he won’t leave to rescue Zenith lol. I’m actually failing to understand what was the “Turning Point 3” here? Like the last two times, we could see. Here we go... It took nineteen episodes, but we've finally reached it. Turning Point 3. Life is looking up for Rudeus. There have been changes in Norn's attitude towards him, and now she is making friends at school. Family life and university studies are also progressing smoothly. However, Rudeus's idyllic school life is suddenly disrupted by unexpected news from Sylphie, an unexpected letter, and "advice" from Man-God. The news to which Sylphie had, was that she was pregnant. What the note had said, was a note saying that they need reinofments in rescuing Zenith. Yep, this is definitely a turning point if I've ever seen one. There's a recurring theme with these, where the episodes start all giddy and happy, and then all hell breaks loose. This turning point isn't any different, ofc. Me and you both, Rudeus. Onto why anyone would even think about serving Zanoba is beyond me. Yeah, the whole thing about Sylphie wasn't spoiled by the fandom, but by this stupid OP. Thanks a lot, Bind. I'm joking ofc, but yeah, I'm kinda sad I got it spoiled. "Dad and mom would be surprised to know I'm having a kid," Rudeus says. Yeah, no they wouldn't. They know how much of a hornball you are. It wouldn't be a surprise at all. But that note... damn. I mean, this is kinda Rudeus's fault in a way. I mean, he chose trying to get his dick back to normal rather than searching for his mom like lol. In terms of what Man-God was saying, I'd say this is his least informative summon yet. Bro just said cheat on Slyphie and left. Out of the three Turning Points so far, this is probably the weakest. I mean, more than anything, this is really just a setup to the next arc. Now leaving the house in Sylphie's and his sister's care, Rudeus is now dead set on saving his family. With the arc finally starting next episode, there will be a break next week. Episode 19 comes out on May 19! https://twitter.com/mushokutensei_A/status/1789679428165111811 |

another amazing episode it wasn't as plot-changing or action-packed as the other turning points but I think we will learn the significance of this turning point in the coming episodes as it mostly felt like a setup for the next arc/eps can't wait for more no episode next week... Some LN Extra Details (Volume 11 Chapter 6-7) - It is second summer for Rudy in Ranoa and students are wearing different summer uniform to handle the heat. Even Sylphie is wearing sleeveless shirt around the house to keep up with the heat. - Rudy usually tutors Norn to help with her studies in the library after school to make sure she keeps up with the class. - Rudy notices that Norn had talent in writing when she help with the writing regarding the Superds and thinking she might become a briliant author in the future - Nanahoshi said he could easily replicate the scroll using earth magic and freely sell it to Mage's Guild. At first Rudeus was worried the original maker of the spell might look for him if he did that, but Nanahoshi assured him that person has other bigger things to cater to. - Nanahoshi explain Fiend Summoning and Spirit Summoning. Fiend summoning usually summons monsters, pay compensation for it to work for you. Spirit summoning is making artificial being using mana. Developing it seems similar to programming, Differences from LN - Students are wearing shorter sleeved uniform during summer time. hyped for the Labyrinth Arc |

So it's time... Didn't know you can be so excited for and scared of something at the same time I'm getting addicted to this OP, both the music and visuals are so good Why is everyone so happy, It's making me nervous ToT Wait, I thought people telling that Sylphie will get pregnant were joking lmao. Oh well, congrats! It may not have been as epic as the previous ones, but this was definitely a turning point. For now I agree that Rudy should go, but this may change. I'm expecting a lot of pain and suffering from the next arc. |

Was a great episode. Turning Point 3 wasn't the same kind of instant impact that the first two had, but this episode will be a key one in the long run for impacting various little things. Most importantly in the now, it is the first time that Rudeus has gone against Hitogami's advice after following him the entire time to prioritize saving his mother once and for all to bring his family together. It may not be as epic instantly but in due time over the course of this franchise, like how I feel about this season, people will look back at this as far more impactful narratively and to Rudeus' life in the long run. Furthermore, his wife is now pregnant and having to choose between betraying Hitogami's advice to keep her company with his parents in heavy danger, or going to rescue them and potentially leaving his wife alone for 2-3+ years if everything goes well and missing the birth of his child and more was quite troublesome and challenging to say the least, bothering him a lot even after 'making his decision' after his conversation with Hitogami. Norn was able to remind Rudeus the fact that it is not only his parents in danger, but her mother too and she is someone that is far more desperate to want them to be safe and be together, which helped Rudeus change his mind. He didn't quite treasure Paul and Zenith as parents when he was reincarnated in the new world as much but as he has grown, meeting Paul and conversing with him during Millis, it is obvious how much he has grown to adjust to this world and that he wants Paul and Zenith to be there with him so it is good to find the courage in him to go for the rescue. Ultimately, regrets cannot be avoided completely and there are costs to his decision with Sylphie but as Zanoba reminded him, she can still give birth and has the support in Aisha and Norn, and Ariel's company to help her through these times. The episode was very good in showing how much Rudeus has grown in his time at Ranoa Academy and showing his conversations with different people in his life like Zanoba, Nanahoshi, Cliff, his sisters, etc and how that happier, daily routine in his life took a big turn with the ambiguity and unsettling nature of Geese's letter that requested additional help with Zenith's rescue. A great and well-paced setup to what is a fantastic portion in the books, and should hopefully be a very fun and emotional rollercoaster of a portion in the anime. Loved the scene with Rudeus and Norn talking about Ruijerd and both collaborating now to work on a project together detailing Ruijerd's stories and working together to improve the reputation of the Superds through their own efforts since Ruijerd is an integral part of both of their lives and they care for him a lot. Good to seeing them be on better terms, even if the stuff at the end threw that off for a little brief period there. Rudeus is going to become a dad, and he spent the last episode trying to repair the relationship with his sister, and now on the way to go save his mother so family man Rudeus has been on the grind. No episode next week which is a shame, but the next six episodes should be an emotionally chaotic and entertaining ride, and have a different pace and tone to it than the rest of this season. Again, the season has done such a good job in building Rudeus' life up over the last few years that there is more weight and meaning to wanting to protect his life now as much as he possibly can and the intrigue with going against Hitogami's word underneath everything makes it very interesting too. Bonus points for this episode taking place on Mother's Day too. |

@Softhenic03 Softhenic03 said: I’m actually failing to understand what was the “Turning Point 3” here? Like the last two times, we could see. The Turning Point here is about the decision of Rudeus going to Begaritt instead of staying at home Rudeus deciding that... will change the fate of someone and lots of people in a bigger way (it will be revealed sometime in the future). So, it is definitely a Turning Point since Turning Points are meant to change the course of the story. Rifujin have said that Turning Points are are a point in the story where the power balance between Hitogami and Orsted shifts greatly. It will also be revealed sometime in the future about Rifujin's explanation about Turning Points. |

Aisha's the most adorable thing ever, so cute. Impossible to say no to her request. Ginger's back to Zanoba. What loyalty man, keeping her promise from so long ago. Cliff finally made progress in his research, he's been working hard. Happy for Nanahoshi too. And finally, Sylphy is pregnant. Got emotional watching Rudeus being so happy. Gratz you two. That scene with the entire family made me happy. Everything was going well, a bit too well and you know what that means. Turning point 3. Can't let them be happy for long now can we. Go save your family Rudeus. Great advice from mangod btw. Linia and Pursena are both fine girls. Break next week, gotta wait one more week but hyped for it. https://twitter.com/mushokutensei_A/status/1789679676987670721?t=rBuXVZtGYjWK-M_eGocN-g&s=19 |

Turning point 3 is here. It's nice to at least see Ginger since she was completely cut from last episode, but they never showed the scene where Zanoba tried to kill her lol Overall great episode with the ways things were presented. Though they had to cram things a little bit to fit it all in this episode, they at least showed somewhat the massive conflict that Rudeus has between going or not going, and him finally deciding to ignore Hitogami's suggestion for the first time so far. |

Turning Point 3, the lesser of the major plot pointers of the series to date, but still pivotal. Aisha being a lot like Lilia, she gets some off time with Rudeus to plant some flowers in their house, as well as get Sylphie accessories. Of course, Rudeus being a bargaining tool is quite effective. Continuing on with Nanahoshi's summoning magic, she's making progress, as well as Zanoba being able to create figures of his own, as well as Ginger pledging felty to Zanoba to serve him willingly. As for Cliff, making a mana suppression device for Elinalise is also good, and everyone is moving along well. And Sylphie finally gets pregnant after not having a period for quite some time, it's been quite the story between them both snince since the day they met at his home. Aisha knowing the delicacy of Sylphie's pregnancy, it's just like back in Buena Village...only except that the letter from Geese recognizing Zenith's rescue not being fruitful, Rudeus going back to the Man-God to rant his troubles of not going to Begaritt, he feels tricked that he's not knowing the full picture behind it. Even worse, with a family and such, Rudeus going there will have challenges, and the Man-God sure loves to play tricks with him, like mating with Linia or Pursena to cheat on Sylphie. Even Elinalise already making her point that she wants to break up with Cliff out of youthful infatuation, it's rather apt for the future forthcoming, and this is to say that Zanoba will remain with Julie, and even help to protect Sylphie if he chooses to go. Choosing between family and finding Zenith, Norn reads his mind to save her parents, and Rudeus NEEDS to go, being given the push in place of her. The Labyrinth Arc is next after a week's break, and this'll bring the series back to relevancy. |

Finally action is coming ! The 1 and a half ~ season of mainly SOL was hella vibe ngl but i started missing the high quality action this anime provided. Now its time to Rudy to leave for a "pack of smokes" and do some dungeon raiding instead. It sucks doe there is no episode next week ... a good way to kill of alot of hype specially at a "turning point" episode. |

Man-God acting way too shady and sus. Man stated that each choice will have regrets but still went for the advice to convince Rudeus to not go to Begaritt no matter what, signalling there's more to his agenda than just being nice to Rudeus there. Now that Rudeus didnt follow him, makes it more mysterious with what is going to happen with Rudeus' 'wrong choice' in his books. Excellent ep as a whole, mostly a setup for a Turning Point but had good moments throughout and the future episodes should be a nice change of pace. And this ep already has many 1s (30% as of this post), can smell bots here again. Wish they spent time more productively. |

Looks like it is finally time for the Turning Point 3. And, this time around, we have the revelation that Syphie and Rudy are expecting their first child. It was such a sweet moment between them. Rudy's tears touched me but then he received the letter about Zenith's situation and is now in the middle of deciding what to do. He brainstormed the situation for quite a while but has finally come to the conclusion of leaving Syphie in Norn and Aisha's care while going to help his mom and his father. I can understand Rudy's trouble. He's a good guy and Syphie is a great wife as well. |

Wowza, what an episode. Turning point 3 is here to remind people why Mushoku Tensei is the greatest isekai ever. It may not have had the action of the previous turning points, but just as good if not better. The purpose of these has always been to change the direction of fate for characters in the story and this delivered. Amazing episode from start to finish. Loved the focus on Rudeus’ relationship with his sisters. Obviously Norn got a ton of development and focus last week and it’s great seeing them get on well, but I’m happy we got a lot of Aisha focus this week. Her cute little begging face when she and Rudeus went curtain shopping was so adorable, Rudeus couldn’t help but go along with everything she wanted, and who can blame him. Staying away from the brother sister incest route too I see “dad would kill me..”😂 But man the look on Rudy’s face when he found out Sylphie was pregnant. Such a beautiful moment that really hits at the deeper attachment and abandonment issues that Rudeus has had as a character. One of his biggest regrets is the breakdown of his family relationship in his previous life, so wanting a family of his own and being surrounded by loved ones has always been so important to him this go around. Now that he’s a husband and going to be a father, this is literally a dream come true for my boy and I’m so happy for him. The “thank you” he gave Sylphie was so heartfelt. She cured his condition, made him a husband and now a father. Best girl Speaking of regrets, the man God conversation again brought up another character point with Rudeus. He’s always been terrified of leaving regrets in this life after living a life full of them in his previous world. But regrets are an unavoidable part of life. We can never know everything that’s coming at us and we’ll all make mistakes or be put in difficult situations and just have to go with our best judgment like Rudeus is with the zenith rescue. Having regrets is part of being alive and human. While the Pursena and Linia mating season thing is tempting, that’s your mom at the end of the day and no way Rudeus was going to leave his parents in trouble like that. That ideal dream he had back in Buena of his entire family being happy around the table requires.. well.. the entire family. That means it’s off the Begaritt next week. Can’t wait to see this 🙏🏾 I’m sure the greyrat sisters will hold it down Rudeus. Plus like Zanoba who’s obviously known for giving out the wisest takes in the series said, “children can grow without their fathers watching” which of course is a nice nod to Rudeus’ development post teleportation incident. On a side note, it’s hilarious how Aisha and Norn went from one hating Rudeus and one loving him to now competing over which one can get more of his affection lol, that’s what we call character development Amazing episode, could go on about it all day, but without a doubt best mushoku episode so far. |

Rudy having to make one of the most difficult decisions of his life. Truly a turning point as just like the man god said, either choice will have regrets. Not quite the brutality that the previous turning points had but a cornerstone moment in Rudy life nonetheless. This will be one of those moments that defines Rudy life moving forward. Things were going so well, just mundane activities every day exactly the same as the last, cruising along with Sylphy, Aisha and Norn. Finding out they're going to have a child is wonderful news for Rudy and Sylphy! Rudy has definitely wanted this for a long time, the tears going down his cheeks as he hugged Sylphy were so precious. That alone would've been enough for a turning point since a child is a life altering event, but getting that letter arrived from Geese that the rescue of Zenith is going tougher than expected. Sending everything into a tailspin, forcing Rudy to choose between basically his current family he's just now built or his mom and dad in this world. Marrying Sylphy, getting the house, the sisters arriving, having a child, these are all steps Rudy has taken to building a family around himself again. He reincarnated into this world with a second chance at family but even that second chance was taken with the displacement event. Rudy has an opportunity to save his mother and bring them all together finally after all these years. The man God is saying don't go but his track record isn't exactly infallible. Rudy knew the right choice might've been to stay with his wife and see her pregnancy through with her but seeing Norn want so badly to go tips the scales. Rudy knows that he has the ability to take action and help Paul save Zenith so that means he's has a responsibility to go help them, to help his family. Sylphy will be fine, there's plenty of people at the school to support her while Rudy is gone. There might be regrets with either choice but not going would be a larger regret. |

The school arc was nice and all but I'm glad the series is finally going back to journeys. That was probably my favorite aspect of Season 1. Holy shit. Rudeus is going to be a father? That's insane. Seems a bit too soon for me. It was not that long ago that I saw him just as a little kid. I wonder how serious the situation is and wtf is hitogami on. He can't be trusted that's for sure. Next week being a break is disappointing. |

As an anime only, I was expecting something really bad to happen like the first two. That was a lot of info. What a moment for Rudy and Sylphie. Good for them. Hitogami is really damn shady. Looks like he gave him the easy route in his life so he'd be focused on something else because there's something he doesn't want Rudy to know about. Sure his advice has given him good fortune, but something doesn't add up. Also, why should he take a partner in Linia or Pursena? Makes no sense to me anyway. Even with his resolve to be faithful, knowing Rudy, I have a feeling something like this is going to happen later on. Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. It was bound to happen eventually. We have had so many slow paced episodes this season. On to the action! |

Now in a way we could say both sisters are content with the way things are going, I mean Norn adjusted her ways after last episode too. By the way, we know how happy-go-lucky things are going for Rudy, like we really do, I mean this is what they have been shoving onto our faces since the last cour, so of course we get it.
Add the news of Sylphy’s pregnancy on top of it, so yeah, good times, we get it. If the supposed big twist in this episode was the revelation of the fact that “Zenith is still not rescued and they’re finding it tough”, then that is the most obvious thing I’ve heard this whole year lol.
That fact that Zenith is still not rescued and Rudeus had a sore expression for a minute was the “tUrnINg pOinT”??? Lol. Or was it the fact that Norn was actually the(only)smartest person around and was the only one willing to help Paul and co. in rescuing Zenith???
That has to be right? The "TURNING POINT 3". Right??

@Softhenic03 Turning Points can be instantaneous and they can be slow burners too. Imagine there are two paths in front, both have consequences but Man-God shows one path and he goes on the other. It seems fine for now, but there is a lot more to this with future eps that would be resulted based on this decision. This is a slowburner one as it does change the course of some big things in this whole story like the other two, just in a different way. |

Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm betting the thing I'd guess the man-god is saying he'd regret is that he'd find Eris there pregnant |

We see the man god since it's a turning point. I do wonder if the letter was the turning point or maybe the baby or if the turning point has some story significance, since they keep bringing it back and man god always appears right after. Just shake the story or something more. Finally, we will be leaving the academy, it's about time. It was my least favorite arc so far, let's see what's next |

Congrats to Rudy and Sylphy on expecting their first child. Too bad the good news only lasted for a moment, as Rudy received word that his mom is in trouble. We already kind of knew that since we still hadn't heard anything about her being rescued, but that point just got reinforced. Definitely a much more subdued Turning Point episode compared to the others, but it's pretty clear why this is still a turning point. Rudy could keep enjoying his cozy family life, but instead will go journey to help rescue his mom despite Man-God's warnings. That seems like a pretty big deal, worthy of being considered a "turning point" to me. |
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime. Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait. MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol. |

The poll scores are so messed up and clearly botted its crazyy. Shame that character-based episodes like these from the series get flanked and affected. |

tomohiko itou cinema, really good storyboards. also, some smartasses not knowing that turning point is his decision to go and how that will always *greatly* affect him and those around him. what an ep tho, rudy became a father and was on top of the world but alas, obvious red flags ig. he'll miss the birth of his first child, damn. hope this doesn't affect much... now he'll go through a lot of pain again, rip paul. at least zenith will still be alive...kinda so cute |

So turning point = pregnancy, eh? I'm speechless... in a bad way. So much wasted time and episodes just to cure penis, impregnate childhood friend and FINALLY start looking for mother. At least it seems this season will somewhat redeem itself with second half of this part. |

What the fuck with all those 1 ratings on this episode? What's wrong with you guys? We had a great episode this week, from the announcement of Sylphiette being pregnant, Aisha's skills on getting bargains (those will be important later), Cliff making improvements on his research, Bananahoshi as well (bro, those 2 spoilers foreshadowed right there!), Zanoba and Ginger being good parents... It had everything! ...or is it just because the anime skipped the part where Aisha offered herself to Rudeus when he knew he was going to be a father? |

@18927 I dont wanna spoil anything but the pregnancy part is NOT the turning point lmfao. There is much more to it than expected but for the time being, its Rudeus not listening to Hitogami for once when he has helped him out with a lot of things with this advice despite being shady. |

@el_morris It's bots, even the other episodes this season have been affected by it a lot out of nowhere. Even the Norn episode last week. Assume someone just doesnt like this franchise and has the time to score everything poorly to influence the polls negatively and paint a worse image of the show as a result |

@MangagnaM It's good if something is setting up for a bigger picture later down the line, but this decision could've simply been made a long time ago. Or at least it should've been made before a kid has to go all the way and show what needs to be done. |

@Softhenic03 Letters take a long time to be received and all that time, he trusted that the people who went to Begaritt were strong enough to get it done. One of them is a Water King, Paul is advanced in all sword styles and everyone there were mainly highly experienced adventurers in a very strong party. Ultimately, once Man-God told Rudeus that he had to stay and Rudeus recognized how his advice has helped Rudeus with a lot, it was a tough call to go against him then (which changed his mind now especially with how much he has grown into being a family person and an adult over the time in the academy). Elinalise at the time even told him that the people that went to save Zenith were more than strong enough and that he didn't have to worry, and she is a S-Ranked adventurer. He and Elinalise didnt expect for this to be urgent but at least now, Rudeus is much more emotionally ready as more of an adult compared to before and knowing that he has family waiting for him back and wanting to make them and his parents happy, makes more sense for him to go now on a long adventure than before. There is definite relevance to this episode being critical for the future (especially with the role of Hitogami), and Rudeus' choice this time was not made out of convenience for Hitogami but out of caring for his family and recognizing that they truly are important to him in this world and how much he has grown to care for them personally compared to them just being game-like NPCs from the very beginning. |

It seemd slow and slugish, but in reality it shown the moral dilema Rudeus really was in. He either go help Paul and regret leaving Sylphy alone, or stays and regrets what would happen. Both paths leave to sadness, both ways are hard. Did he choose right? who know. Did he choose bad? No. |

@ThoorDark There really isn't a right choice. Rudeus chose to go in the end but it could result in him being away from Sylphie and his soon-to-be-born kid for a few years, and given how serious the situation seems to be, there is that theoretical chance he might die or be permanently affected from that journey that will cause a regret to go. That can affect Sylphie forever and his kid potentially won't have a father, which is terrible. Or if he stayed, that could be the difference between the survival of his parents and the others that have gone to help him, and rescuing them given his strength and abilities as a mage. It is a fairly complex and multi-layered decision with seemingly no right answer as Hitogami did state that either choice would leave him with regrets somehow so a choice being bad or not isn't straightforward. It is a much more difficult decision that wouldn't necessarily be easy for others if they were put in the situation he was in. |
