Jess and Pig has an inseperable relationship and this episode is just another example of that. While the episode seemed somewhat slow paced, I like how they captured the mood of their adventure together.

Pig is a very wise character and keeping up good spirits as they venture into unknown territory. Definitely the most important character in Jess' life.

The animation is feels choppy at this point. I was wondering if it was the same from the very start. But the feeling stroke me just in this episode somehow.

It's just our duo again.

Having parted ways with their fellow travelers, Jess and Pig were making their way to the royal capital, just the two of them. They continued through the Needle Forest and finally reached the sheer cliffs of the capital. However, they were clueless about how to enter. Lost and shocked, they found ourselves wandering in the most perilous places. Jess was growing weaker and weaker. As her companion, it was Pig's duty to ensure she reached the capital, serving as her guide through the perilous journey.

I really hope we get to see more of Notos before the show wraps up. Honestly, I couldn't stand him at first, but the more time we spent with him, the more he kinda grew on me. It's tough for Jess and Pig; they just can't catch a break. There are always some annoying folks causing issues for Jess for no reason. I really like how this episode mainly focuses on Pig and Jess's relationship and how much it's developed since the start of the series. I had a feeling that Heckripon was important, especially since we've been seeing it since the beginning of the episode. It looks like it's our ticket into the capital.

Finally, after so long, we've made it to the fated royal capital.

Was Jess about to confess there?
We finally learn Heckripons' purpose! So they are like surveillance drones from the royal capital. This is cool!
And I wonder what happened to Naut after they left him there.
Last episode next.
Edit: actually 2 episodes left

Even without Naut and Rossi, with Blaise having chosen death, both Jess and Pig must still walk on and continue their journey.

The entrance to the royal capital is quite the unknown, plus with potential that Jess may be hunted again, they stick closer than ever just in case. Indeed, facing a few Yethma hunters, Pig makes use of Naut's emergency triggers while facing his own limitations. Even at their worst, having the siether works to avoid the wolves, but even so hiding in disguise, the friendship to stay alive is felt between the two.

Once they're out to safety, with Jess's condition, they can't fare for long, yet the bunch of heckripons has been looking after them, aside from them being rumors of misfortune. Apparently, they are there as watchers of the Yethmas, and there is none but only one option to reach the royal capital: to talk to the heckripon, which sure enough as Pig surmised, is the key to the entrance.

The deed is done; they have found the key, their ticket. Onwards to the royal capital!

Still can't believe the hero is just a pig, like a normal pig, that the most thing he can do is dancing (telepathy is not his power).

So it seems the Heckripons are nothing more then surveillance devices to keep track of the Yethmas' which as Mister Pig said would explain why they are always around and different than all the other animals. I do hope Mister Pig and jess can reason with the king and put an end to the suffering of all Yethma's

The path to the capital is finally open! Next two episodes are gonna be interesting. After 10 episodes of build up, I’m really interested in seeing what exactly this capital is.

After so many episodes of being together with Notos, it feels weird to see just Buta and Jess alone. Some really nice bonding moments with the two of them, and it’s good to see Jess being more expressive and inquisitive. Asking Buta about his first love for example.

The battle against the hunters was tough, but they were just barely able to make it out. Another really big consequence of Notos’ absence since he was their main fighter.

Loved the bonding scene between Buta and Jess, I wish he could give her headpats.. she really deserves it after everything she’s been through.

Animation was substantially better in this episode. Or at least, the types of scenes we had did not expose it as much. Hopefully the last few are solid. Last episode was really bad.

The heckripons between invented just for monitoring the yethma is really creepy when you think about it. Shows how afraid the kingdom is of them.

Good episode! With the LN confirmed to end soon, I wonder if we’ll get another season

Last episode was 1000x worse with the choppy fight scenes and Blaise literally teleporting onto the knife.

I don't get why this anime has such a low score. I get it the poster and synopsis fooled people a bit. But dang, this is an actual proper made drama and with a nice mistery in it. Much better than the avg Joe senseless school drama caused by kids doing things they shouldn't be doing while teenagers (like having romantic relationships)

Sad to say he won't be mentioned again until volume 2, while anime only adapted volume 1 unless they added some vol 2 teaser towards the end.

But glad to meet another person who likes Notto. That was exactly my thought too when I started reading the novel, and eventually he became such a lovable character!

Jess should have gotten knotted right then and there, when they both huddled underneath the makeshift rock. Pussy move from the author.

As I recall it started being like that after the ep. 9 got delayed for one week.

Thanks for the spoiler... I'm starting to like novel and manga readers. Always trying to spoil something in episode discussions. You just can't hold yourself? Shold've at least marked it as a spoiler.

Before they revealed the purpose of the heckripons I started thinking that they had to serve a bigger purpose than just being random wildlife and Mr. Pig's assessment was really well done. I'm hoping we get answers to questions regarding the yethmas and if anything can be done regarding reverting Mr. Pig back into a human.

Dude, I can't with these things. They're so creepy. I love them though. That reveal, if it turns out to be true, is insane! This episode really made up for the last imo.

Do Yethmen even need to really make this trip? No one seems to enforce the laws set regarding them, they can go to where they're supposed to and won't even be let in, and hunters can pretty much just hunt them right at the king's doorstep. Seem to me like they can just keep on living whatever life they were leading and nothing would happen. I always had a feeling the king or whoever watching through the Heckripon's eyes but they just watch and do nothing.

I had long suspected the hekripon are a surveillance tool since it is just far too weird they watch people hiding behind trees but do nothing to defend themselves when attacked which is unnatural behaviour that never would have allowed them to survive in the wild. This ep felt so short, i want to see who this jerk of a king is.

Did you miss it was mentioned before some episodes back they die because short fixed lifespan? They dont have to go but they will die regardless so it is like a last hope to try and request their life.

Glad that Jess and Buta are still alive so far.

I also enjoyed this episode, the chemistry between the two characters was great. Buta tried his best for Jess, even fighting the hunter Yethma earlier was truly great.

And also that Heckripon, a strange and mysterious creature that can even open the door for Jess and Buta.

Finally some proper action in the series. Jess and Pig encounter yethma hunters and they managed to get away thanks to the orbs Naut gave them; They speculate the ostritch looking animals are the eyes of the mages in the capital. Jess pleads to one of them and the path opens up for them. Episode wasn't too eventful but by the end it got the job done.
