Congrats Congrats to Mirai and Shizuka. I really hope Shizuka can clear things up with her corporate slave dad soon.
There’s a girl named Kousaka Umi. That’s very interesting naming.
The archetypes are falling a lot in place: Shizuka: Not having a good relation with her parents, like Chihaya. Tsubasa: With the genius to learn the choreography in one watch like Miki. Mirai: energetic like Haruka, as we already knew from last episode.
Shizuka desperation to become an idol shown in the audition, made me already a super fan.
I like seeing the old cast showing up to support the newcomers. The intro gives a glimpse of it, but seeing them in the episode clapping at the audition made me smile.
Alot of foreshadowing there , nice to see they actually put BNS and BC manga's development in the anime, it's the small bits here and there in this anime that really makes this so great to the old producers like us. But I hope we are pulling in some new producers to join us too!
Also that Shumai San Sisters absolutely cracked me up
MATSURI NEXT EP!!!!!
just watching is so fun getting to see all of the girls so expressive is so so awesome
i think the mixing for their vocals during the audition was an interesting choice, but cool to make it sound like we're hearing them onstage like that.
i wonder how kaori and tsumugi will enter...
Either I'm early or. Although well idolmaster is uh, a strange thing
EP 2
Sometimes i wonder, did they plan this as 12 episodes and then separate it for the theater, or was it planned as theater first and then separated into 12 eps? hmm
Supposedly there's around 30-50 girls, i have no idea how they plan on this. even if they have 50 eps planned, it'll take some time, unless they already spent the time making the eps
i didnt notice at first, but the guy called chief is the producer for 765, from the previous season, i think?
oh yeah so good luck to me there's no way i can recognize so many girls. i do recall like, maybe about half or so are famous voice actors but yeah
anna and serika look really familiar
so the immediate problem is, there's too many girls to really focus and/or be attached to any of them (outside of the three), its going to be kinda hmm.
i wonder if this park that mirai and shizuka are practicing in is based on a real location
though its kind of weird, since tsubasa i think doesnt have to actually pass the audition, while mirai and shizuka are practicing
also you know, they have their normal student life. middle school too
one thing is because the cast is so huge we have variety of names. hmm
heh. the funny thing is, well, i think i recall seeing mirai is like maybe 155cm or so, and there are adults that are like 150cm or even shorter
i know its kind of like a joke but the part where we dont see the president's face is hmm. also uh, the president himself is at the interview? i guess its kinda important
ok so they really did skip the interview, alas
ok so the audtion has to be groups of three. but uhm. im pretty sure tsubasa didnt practice for this? shrug
tbh they could easily pass for 15 or 16, maybe its just me
ok soo tsubasa is one of those genius that can learn instantly? ook
oh damn they're performing the op song? i guess thats one way
i havent really commented much on the op song because uhm...its about what you expect i guess?
i wonder if this is the actual version, or if they deliberately made the vocals less professional since they're just starting out as idols
its kinda uhm, hard to watch actually
also yeah shizuka is totally uhm, very stressed out while performing
ouch, ouch. somehow i wasnt expecting there to already be dorama in the second ep
funny thing is mirai seemed to be better, but its possible shizuka was just too stressed out to uhm, perform properly
you can clearly see the other idols all have their own separate images
Also the credits must be insane if/when all the idols show up in the same episode, like..this ep we had maybe ten ish or so?
Hmm, no ed this time? curious. then again if it was made for theater first uhm, there wouldnt be a need for that
This episode i didnt pay much attention to the animation, so im not sure maybe i just got used to it or otherwise
Its more obvious if you pay more attention to it, probbbly
So i was worried there would be a cliffhanger, but anyway, so the audtion is done and now begins the idol
I see serika and anna in the preview, and a lot of girls as well. otherwise uhm.
I wonder if mirai and shizuka and tsubasa will actually have their own mini unit name or everyone is just going to be in one big group
Probably the OP song will grow on me if they continue to use it every episode.
They havent shown up yet, the only ones I remember off the top of my head, the girl with the guitar is voiced by aimi (which is where they got the idea for bang dream for I think), while arisa the twintail girl is voiced by murakawa rie
We hear a lot more of tsubasa and machico this time, kinda fascinating actually but I dunno
Konomi...is takahashi minami, hmm.
Serika is asakura momo, thats interesting to see.
Umi is ueda reina, though I didnt recognize her at all
Anna is natsukawa shiina, ok now thats interesting. Amamiya sora is shiho but uh.
I see koiwai kotori in the cast as well but yeah.
The cast is just way too big, its already basically impossible to remember all the girls that showed up this ep
There's the two supporters, momoko and then I dont remember the rest.
Add me to one of the people who thought it was a great creative choice to get KoroAzu and Pyon to sing badly during the audition.

39 names to remember is childs play. Try remembering half the names of the Cinderella Girls. If you do, then you are on your way to be a real Producer.
The part of them seeing a vision(?) of themselves dancing in stage was a bit random for me, but besides that, this episode was absolutely great!!!!! I love seeing Ichipomu starting to bond, and the decision of Mirai and Shizuka (and especially Mirai) singing off-key is really nice, it's also fun to compare that to their solo versions of Rat a tat in the game lol. AS+ going to watch the audition was great too!!! Seeing other million stars around was nice as well~
Mirai saying that she is Shizuka's fan already and her and Tsubasa encouraging her to sing was incredibly sweet, also, Shizuka deserves the world 😭 she reflects quite well how whatever your parents say can really affect your self esteem lol will be nice to see her development!! Also, i wonder how will Tsumugi and Kaori join, we're still missing them lol
I always thought Kana was going to be the new protagonist because of the Im@s movie, but Mirai is fine. I loved the Shumai Sister tho, they're so damn cuteee!
Our Producer is new in the job and he is already in charge of 35+ girls, damn. The OG Chad Producer had it rough with only 13 girls lol
HARUKA-SAN MY BELOVED ❤️
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~
Btw, cry about it.
Congrats Congrats to Mirai and Shizuka. I really hope Shizuka can clear things up with her corporate slave dad soon.

@AkeZZZ I feel like that has to be somewhat intentional lol...
Got some Dearly Stars flashback during the live with the whole mechanic of your memories influencing your live and as soon as Mogami was having her bad memories of her dad telling her she can't be an idol I just imagined like you're playing as her and you accidentally didn't time the memory sequence well and hit the negative memory 😂
But man, imagine an audition so amazing everyone in the crowd is literally hallucinating seeing other things on stage that aren't actually there, I wanna see a performance like that and it not even having any special effects just to see ahahhahah
Honestly great tho being able to see so many of the idols already this episode, am really excited for Arisa because she's always been my most favourite no.1 in the Million Live lot because if I was an idol I'd probably be her, plus she's played by Rie Murakawa too <3
Only 2 episodes passed and Shizuka already the best girl, have a feeling she will be like Chihaya. I like it how new girls refers in few things for the older girls.
After Love Live the 2nd best idol series to me it worth the long wait for this. I think i'll be fan of every girls in the studio agian.
After playing The iDOLM@STER Million Live: Theater Days for a good 6 years straight, doing everything from constant dailies, sparking gachas back to back (intentional or otherwise), tiering and getting stonewalled at Rank 15 twice, suffering through anniversary gauntlets, and throwing down cash for merch and stream tickets to view lives, I still can't say I'm a fan of the idol genre. It's still so weird to me, but while I'm not into the idol culture, I'm more interested in the stories of the characters, their relationships with each other, and the meta aspect of how characters live their lives as idols, as opposed to the actual singing and dancing aspects. I genuinely enjoy the characters' antics, and I appreciate the amount of work that go into the audiovisuals, but for some reason the actual idol aspect never clicked with me.
Anyways, I'm amused by the subtle references to the 2014 film, as well as the minor insights into each of the characters' personality quirks. It's nice to know that this isn't an entirely new timeline, but a continuation of sorts. Because of this, I'm interested in seeing how much the Million Live characters featured in the film developed since then, as for example, Anna most certainly didn't have her "On" mode showcased, nor did Minako have her bit regarding cooking.
I'm not entirely sure how the anime will be able to fit 39 characters into 12 episodes, much less if the anime decides to somehow include moments for the original 13, the staff, or the Producers. All I'll do for now is hope for the best. That being said, I know why the anime needed to give a quick rundown of Shizuka's bit, but it's still hilarious to me that the anime really speedran main blue depression. It's not exactly an im@s tradition, but it's funny to me that blues can only be happy after suffering for a bit first.
