Those are some neat art drawings...

Action was brief and given the nature of the case, I'd thought the episode would be more violent. We still got a complex case dealing with the werewolf threat though.

So I just caught up and I gotta say: Why the hell was I sleeping on this? This is fire!
And btw this isn't based on a manga or LN, but on a novel (LN and novel are different things) so this is quite rare. Pls go look at the volume covers, they are really cool.

Bro the sudden action scared me lol
So the artist was behind the latest murder. This is like an infection or something.
Shizuku is jelly. They definitely have some special relationship.
20:51 "NOOOO" This is so funny for some reason
Yeah Shizuku is 100% gonna be fine. We didn't even get her backstory yet.
Aaand yep, this episode lasted 2 minutes just like every other one.

The werewolf shows itself, and a major battle begins...

Alma being the supposed culprit wasn't too surprising, but the werewolf still must be caught, and the action was really solid. I wonder if the werewolf phenomenon at hand here is some kind of spreading "disease". I do wonder if Alma is actually the culprit though, could be someone acting as her, as I doubt this case was that straight forward. Shizuku being a little jealous of Aya and Tsugaru was interesting, and I feel with her falling down the waterfall at the end of the episode, first of all, she's definitely going to be fine, and maybe we'll get some backstory around her. The Royce agents also showed up, and the situation was pretty complex. As usual, the episode just flew by in a jiffy, always feels like five minutes or even less, simply nothing short of thrilling and engaging.

Mannnnnnn what an episode. This might end up in my top 10 ngl. This show just gives me a feeling I haven’t had in a while.

Lot to go over in this episode. First of all, I really appreciate the variance that these cases have. I really did not think Alma would be the werewolf. Yea she had the sus fake art school backstory, but I thought that would be classic misdirection and it would be the doctor. That golden werewolf that she described must’ve been something related to her powers then? Something still just feels like it’s missing.

Aya said last week that she basically already knew who the culprit was, but that was before she knew about Alma IIRC, so are there multiple culprits? Someone framing her? I find it odd that we only see her silhouette thru the window instead of her actual body. Combined with the aforementioned stuff and I think we got a misdirection. Can’t wait to find out next week.

The Sakuga during the fight with “Alma” was awesome. When this show does action, it really does it well. The Lupin fight a few weeks ago was great too.

Yooo that Aya and Tsuguru make out session was steamy as hell 💀 Even stoic Shizuku had to break it up. Think that’s only the first time since the first episode that we’ve seen that. So it’s a regular mana sharing type gimmick? Need more of that lmao.

Speaking of Shizuku, damn. No way she’s dead but that was a very risky move putting herself on the line like that to save Aya. Probably would’ve been a better idea to sit her cage somewhere a safer distance away so that the rampaging werewolf didn’t knock it sky high. But active battle and all, I get it.

Kyle and the pistol girl are interesting additions to the cast. Really love her crass way of speaking lol.

Another top tier episode as per usual.

My guess is Shizuku will land in the werewolf village and The Banquet will probably find the way in through her. Which means this season may end in a cliffhanger...considering there's most likely going to be another major showdown like in the previous arc.

@JustAnotherShiro How do you mean? From my understanding her transformation in that scene was involuntary. Probably couldn't hold back her urges any longer and therefore couldn't retain her human form.

I mean that the whole investigation and mystery is suddenly dropped with that reveal. It just feels very random - usually you'd have that scene when detective starts to explain stuff, suspect is getting cornered and then loses control at the end of it.

Yeah true i expected a bit of tension...

When they showed louisse having same hair colour as alma it was very obvious at that point but since this show usually tricks us by showing things like this i didn't think too much

Wow, they knew exactly where they needed to conclude this episode at. But rest assured, the worst wouldn't happen to Shizuku if we go by normal anime logic.

The revelation of werewolf wasn't as thrilling as I was hoping it to be quite honestly, I mean back when Aya and glasses girl had a meeting, the writing was already on the wall for her. Still I'd love to see how she was fooling the villagers this whole time. Also, that fight between her and Tsugaru ain't over either, so there's that too.

Moriarty's group is already around the scene as well, so things would definitely get more messy in next couple of episodes.

Hmmm, with all this build-up, I think there's more to the story than simply "Alma is the werewolf!" Like I want to know more about the Louise wheelchair girl and why she is called the village's "guardian angel".

Also doesn't the cowgirl chick remind you of Nobara from jjk

Wow didnt expect the culprit to appear that fast, I thought they’ll catch her first. I wonder if the other 2 outsiders are werewolves and why are they running away from their village. Seeing how she didnt die to silver , i’m guessing she’s a gifted werewolf, so probably we cant assume she’s being neglected by her people hmmm

Something about that was too straight forward and feels off as a result.

1. Aya had thought she narrowed down her suspect without even meeting Alma

2. That whole reveal being done entirely behind a curtain was entirely intentional, most likely fabricated

idk there is definitely more than meets the eye, it ain't that easy Lol

@Quanda1eDing1e

Yeah I agree with both your points. I was expecting this to be more complex and messy so for Alma to just admit to it behind a curtain... nah. I think she's either being framed or intentionally trying to make herself the culprit to protect someone, we'll see.

Also, I think Shizuku is still alive as she's a tough girl, maybe a little injured but alive.

The action scenes were very tense especially at the end! I thought Alma was going to hit Tsugaru from behind but she bit his leg. Actually, seeing how devoted Shizuku is to Aya, it's not surprising that she immediately ran after the cage but who would have thought... she would fall into the river. I don't know what will happen in the next episode... especially since Moriarty's people seem to have headed to the village too.

Well at least Shizuku fell with her gun. Whether it's useful or not but I think it's better than her just falling down with nothing. Hopefully she doesn't die because this silly trio won't be fun anymore if they lose one person :(

Damnnn that "medical" make out session lol

This is hard to figure out but they dont exactly give us enough information to figure it out ourselves. We werent even introduced to Alma till this episode.

-Rose appeared 13 years ago and gave birth after six months and the attack on her and her daughter Jutte happened 8 years ago so Jutte was five years old
-Rose said something to Jutte during the fire. I assume Jutte was protected by her mother's body and survived but Rose died.
-Jutte seeking revenge would make sense but the targeted victims other than Louise do not make sense to be her.
-the attacks started a year ago. Jutte would have been 12 for some more clarity of timelines

-Alma arrived five years ago
-Alma said she had uncontrollable hunger a year ago, this is when the killings started.
-we cant assume she was telling the truth but cant assume she is lying either

-Aya pointed out Louise wheelchair handt been pushed often
-The woman who supposedly cared for Louise said she wheeled Louise into her room. Is she lying?
-There was no soot on Tsugaru's hands from the chimney in ep 9 to suggest a werewolf entered Louise' room through the chimney as suggested by the prints.
-glass broken outside so the window was an exit or already broken before

Actually the whole story about Louise seems off. What if Louise was only curious about Jutte and wanted to become a werewolf to free her from her wheelchair? Perhaps Jutte turned Louise into a werewolf. Alma is covering up this fact to protect Louise so she and Jutte can live together.

And this still doesnt answer who is behind the killings and what their motive is.

This is best i can come up with right now.

Definitely do not believe Alma ate them, or at least not Louise. The other murders(or kidnappings) happened on rainy nights, unlike Louise's. Aya said Louise's room looked like it was a facade of insanity and not actual insanity which doesn't fit Alma being the one if she really is crazy...

This show is so fun. There's obviously more to this mystery. We can't just have the culprit out herself like that. The most suspicious thing is that she mentioned only getting these urges a year ago, but she's been in the village for a lot longer than that right? Excited to find out. Shizuku will prob be fine.

Generally speaking it's pretty great as the episode gives us more clues to what's really going on in the village. These are some really hateful German villagers LOL, even the village doctor sounds so nasty against the werewolf race or any outsiders for that matter.

The painter being the current werewolf in village is a surprise but I won't be gushing if she turns out to be a red herring for the real villain reveal. Also, I am not worrying for the maid at all. She's basically the same maid from Black Lagoon sans the glasses.

What I am guessing is there are two warring clans among the werewolves and the missing girl is a princess/highborn on the peace-loving side. But her bloodline is rare and powerful so the "aggressive side" really wants her genes.

Good episode honestly, and she went to save the immortal talking head from dying, out of loyalty, even tho she had no need to lol. Aya is trying to find her body and also, a way to finally die, and the Oni slayer is kinda just there as a nice OP tool. Enjoyed his fight sequences but I wish there were more, was a more exciting episode tho.

I mean, now we know pretty much for a fact that the daughter werewolf is alive since they quite clearly showed at the start of the arc that there was a small wolf or fox animal in the tower with them and they only found the 2 skeletons of 2 wolves when the daughter was in human form while the tower was burning down
