| I’m not enjoying it much tbh. Expected it to be more of a satire, like that “Don’t Hurt Me My Healer” or whatever show from a few seasons ago. Guess that’s on me for not reading the synopsis thoroughly enough though 🤷♂️ |
| Of course if taking the title of this thread topic in a literal fashion, then I wouldn't agree, but I do like it and find it enjoyable and would make the following points: 1.) It's better than I expected 2.) I'm currently watching 15 seasonals, with four series being older returning ones and 11 being completely new, and out of the new ones, this is my second favorite of the season I'd say after AI no Idenshi, which again, is at least a moderate surprise 3.) I just counted out of curiosity and since I started watching seasonals in early 2020 I've watched 12 isekai up to now (not including any pre-2020 series) - not a huge number (By the Grace of the Gods, So I'm a Spider So What?, Sonny Boy, Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist: Making a Drugstore in Another World, The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated into Another World as an Aristocrat, Saihate no Paladin, Mushoku Tensei, Isekai no Yakkyoku, In the Land of Leadale, She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man, Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road, and Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill). Of all those, I would definitely put it somewhere in the top half. Also, just an aside, I have to say that I hold the opposite view to one I've heard frequently expressed by some commenting on this series, that they expected and were disappointed by the fact that it's not deliberately more over the top and I guess more consistently and aggressively a parody. I really strongly disagree. I think the fact that it doesn't really do that is why I enjoy it more. It's obviously comedic/intended to be comedic in different scenes throughout, but I actually favor the fact that it also does take itself seriously enough in the sense of having some small scale sense of stakes and character motivations which engenders caring about, rather than just being one long-running open-ended skit. While still remaining mostly lighthearted and even relaxing. |

Still there's a few more episodes left and hoping it will change my mind how I feel about it. What is bad about it? It has been using all kinds of Vending Machines and goods to help the people out. They have been fitting these in with clever situations and fun storyline. |

Yes there are some fun moments but it kinda rates low for me. Maybe I gave it high expectations for it and got disappointed with it it didn't meet them Well then this could be a good lesson not to over hype things with your own personal expectations, you will always be disappointed because other humans do not think like you. I was not disappointed, because I don’t start with any expectations. I just let the creators tell their own story, that’s why I can enjoy this anime, as well as “Reincarnated as a Sword”, because both cleverly explore different avenues in a fun and enjoyable way. |

| Unironically better than the vast majority of isekai with generic overpowered MCs; yeah the premise seems dumb but the outcome is pretty interesting. If it had better artistic direction, it would have definitely been in my top 5 isekai of all time. |

I enjoy having a certain amount of hype for a show I haven't read LN's or mangas for. Otherwise I probably won't give them a chance. Unlike for Reincarnated as a Sword I read the first 12 novels and knew what I was getting into. I guess I'm not a Boxxo fan. Everything else was fine. I understand. I am a Boxxo fan. 😅😂 |

| I mean if say using 9s and 10s for 80% of your shows is definitely not how I'd use them, as it seems like that would be more so for stuff like idk grades you get in school, where a 5 would be considered a fail. On mal, it says a 5 is average, which for me is still a show I found well somewhat enjoyable, but a 4, 5, 6 is just like yeah this is good vs my pretty few 10s and 9s where I'm like yeah I can rewatch this over and over and go "peak". As for Vending Machine, I myself would personally rate it like a 4 so far, which means it has a little bit I like but it's definitely leaning on the side of yeah I won't really like this that much. I think it has some funny moments to have a small chortle at but it really doesn't redeem how the shows premise is just unfortunately inherently uninteresting to me. The vending machine stuff I think is done decently well, such as it being unable to move being turned into an animate object with issues of communication, or at least I'd say at first. If a show isn't going to have top notch comedy or atmosphere for me (which vending machine certainly doesn't), it at least needs a contiguous or overarching solid plot or story (or just be the monogatari series and have really strong character stuff) to keep me invested, and the vending machine plots feel pretty episodic which not only hurts any feeling of it being a dangerous dungeon with stakes, but it also makes character interactions and development feel quite flat. |
