| While it definitely shows its age, and even though the first episode of 2011 is what initially got me into the series, this certainly is the better adaptation for including Kite and Kon. Crazy that 2011 didn't do that but at least this exists. |

| Watching this after watching 2011 version. Liked how Kite was shown in the very first. But I like Mito as Ging’s cousin than as sister in law. |

| Definitely a lot more enjoyable than the pilot, a bit slower too which I appreciate. A bit of a One Piece vibe to it which is funny because they both came out at the same time. Looking forward to Gon's adventure. |

| Since the Hunter x Hunter manga is back and I see many people talking about it, I thought why not watch the 1999 version then read the manga. So here we are, this was solid first episode and though I liked the 2011 version better this was still nice. The overall atmosphere and animation of the 1999 version is very nice and seeing Kite so early kinda confused me, but I'm also quite happy as I really like him. @Berry-Vodka I see, I kinda thought he would be in the manga aswell since he's In the 1999 version. Though I wonder why he wasnt in the 2011 anime. Either way once I'm done with this anime im definitely picking up the Hunter x Hunter manga, I may even start before finishing. |

Since the Hunter x Hunter manga is back and I see many people talking about it, I thought why not watch the 1999 version then read the manga. So here we are, this was solid first episode and though I liked the 2011 version better this was still nice. The overall atmosphere and animation of the 1999 version is very nice and seeing Kite so early kinda confused me, but I'm also quite happy as I really like him.

| @bubba460z weird decision to not show kite at the beginning in the 2011 version. since you didn't read the manga yet, I can tell you that this 1999 version shows kite as the manga does as well 😅 |

| @bubba460z not to ruin your enjoyment but when you actually start with the manga you'll realize that it's so much darker, the gore was censured in both adaptations, specifically greed island and chimera arc 🙃 |

| I loved this fucking episode. As someone who was never interested in watching an "inferior" version of a show with a better adaptation, I'm shocked that this was better than the 2011 version. I loooooooooooove the music and ambience in this version of HxH. It's beautiful. Aunt Mito never got this much characterization in the newer adaptation and it makes her feel so real and empathetic. 5/5 |
