This week we are focusing on Chie with a fashion related job this week!
(Foretold in the preview which they finally released 3 hours before this episode aired lol)
Somehow this episode tugged at me the most, possibly because of relatability because of Chie's character as a whole but I'll mention this in the spoilers ahead.
We start off with a few of them playing in the office but because Nina tripped over, she ends up breaking the tail of her jacket, to which Koharu mentions Chie would be able to fix it because she is good at sewing. But Chie isn't too certain about it because she feels her skills aren't good, which I feel...she probably has self-esteem issues.
Producer happens to land a new job for a fashion runway which is actually lead by Tsukasa, the charismatic highschool businesswoman of the franchise!
Her introduction was amusing and felt very Tsukasa-like when Producer's colleague gives an insane reaction seeing her entering the lift whilst they go down and turns out there were things still missing from some work-related stuff which Tsukasa would tell him that they're going back up to continue the work ahahah
Miria and Koharu were eager to participate in this fashion related job but Chie is a bit uncertain, most likely her low self-esteem kicking in but the other two also mention she should join in as well when Producer asked Chie too.
At this point I thought to myself Chie is quite similar to Uzuki as well in the OG as well because the two tend to say "I'll do my best" a lot.
They go to the mall where the event takes place and head behind the scenes where they meet Tsukasa, of which Chie would just stare and say how pretty she is.
Producer finds out that Tsukasa is actually taking up a lot of the work herself and is encouraged by this and assists to help, of which the other three were okay and eager to help with too.
Catering comes in too at the right time and from this you can tell how well organized she is in the way she works.
Tsukasa being the businesswoman she is, she is good at delegating what sort of areas the others should look into and is a great experience for the girls too into how the things run.
Chie took a check of the outfits but at the same time also feel the clothes are out of reach because they would just be wasted on her. This kinda struck a bit of cord in me because I tend to feel this way as well and tends to be a big thing with self-esteem and a lack of confidence.
But seeing how Chie was very dedicated into the clothes too, Tsukasa made a joke wanting to take Chie on with her which Producer panicked about ahahah
But in a tragic set of events, a scream is heard from the clothing room and...Tsukasa did a whoopsies by accidentally spilling coffee on the clothes that were going to be in the runway.
It's too late to get the clothes into cleaning due to time restraints as the runway is happening but one of the girls mentions Chie might be able to do something because she's good at clothing related stuff.
But with her self-esteem kicking in again and a fear of failing, she gets a little scared, which Tsukasa notices and doesn't try to egg her on about it. Tsukasa would mention that she will take responsibility for all this and to not worry about it because failure isn't an option. She brings her fist out to Chie to show her resolve but even in that, Chie grabbing onto her fist, is able to feel how nervous Tsukasa really is because of her fist shaking.
They all go out for a bit and Chie is a bit lost about the situation, Producer coming in to try and do something to help whilst Chie tells him about how she's feeling and how scared it would be to fail.
Producer tries to lighten her up by making this bunny puppet thing with a handkerchief and did a funny voice with it too, almost similar to when he wore the skirt the other episode and did the funny dance bless him.
After they have that talk, Chie is gung-ho about helping and would rush back in and aid in assistance to fixing the dresses.
We get a surprising insert song of "Sing the Prologue" covered by Tsukasa and Chie, the song which was used in one of the other anime series too for the franchise.
After getting the outfits fixed, Tsukasa is very delighted about the new results and with little moments to go until the show starts, they quickly get makeup done and dressed in their outfits.
After Chie's makeup was done, we get a snippet of her looking at the dress she will wear, which is a little reluctant on and reaches her hand out, but gains the confidence from before to reach forward and wear it.
The runway starts and we get treated with the instrumental of "Brand new!" which was very fitting.
Miria with her energetic performance and Koharu with her lovely performance come out and show off the dresses. Then after, Chie, in the backstage about to go, she asks Producer if she looks weird which he says she looks fine and gives a little more talk.
Chie would go onto the stage and is still a bit nervous standing there, but then hears Producer calling out to her in the audience with the blue handkerchief bunny which makes her giggle a little. Miria and Koharu then raise their hands to Chie saying they should all go together, of which Chie gains more courage and grabs their hands, bringing in a wonderful performance showing off the outfits, then almost magical feeling, rummage at flowers in the purses they carried and threw them up high.
Then after we get Tsukasa's solo runway and an even more surprising new solo song being inserted too with Tsukasa's first ever solo image song "Atashi ga Rule"!
I was not expecting a song from Tsukasa at all!!! Congrats on the solo debut Shachou!
Tho this kind of formulation, Tsukasa feels similar to Natsuki in the OG because both idols aren't in the main cast of both shows but have received a solo song too, of which were their debuted image songs as well.
I think the only thing that sucked a bit was that like you can hear her new song there in the back but it wasn't a big focal point and it was just there as a background thing. Plus we didn't really hear it much so guess we'd have to wait for the full release to really enjoy her solo song a lot ahahah
The whole runway ends with a success and Tsukasa again mentions that Chie should join up with her in her fashion brand. But Chie apologises and mentions she wants to continue making others smile like she did today, making Tsukasa laugh and mentions next time, they'll be rivals and she's looking forward to meeting Chie again as one.
This week we have Chie's solo image song "Akogare Stitch" finish off the episode, as expected would be the song used, but overall I enjoyed this episode a lot too.
I really root for Chie a lot given the kind of personality she has and I hope this episode had really given her a lot more confidence in herself!
Here's Chie's solo image song in non-credit form:
The preview for next week was already shown in a live broadcast they did but here it is as well as a single upload featuring Kaoru as the main focus of next week and I'm really excited about this episode because they're camping!
There hasn't been any guest cameo appearances of other idols shown in the preview but we do get to see Kaoru's mum for the first time ever!
Seeing Kiryu Tsukasa on the anime making me smile like the Mad Dog of Shimano with all that effort on voting and campaigning for her to be voiced have paid off thanks to the Tojo Clan's support. I wish Coco Kiryu see the charm of the JK shachou though.
Very happy for the CEO for this spotlight there.
Here's one of her songs with her singing standing out atleast for me.
Made up with the nickname "Dragon of Cinderella Girls" with that singing there.
It’s nice to be back with the lil idols after not seeing them last week, and we got Chie’s episode this time which I really loved. I found this one to be the most relatable so far, I get a lot of nerves and anxiety as well and Chie learning that even working adults get that way was nice to see. And damn is she skilled as hell at sewing, if being an idol doesn’t work out somehow she’ll have something to fall back on for sure.
And the fashion show at the end was very cute, the outfits fit those girls like a glove and I loved the varying hairstyles, I was also taken back to a show that came out back in Winter 2020 called “Smile Down the Runway”, definitely a nice one to be reminded of. And damn that Kiryu Tsukasa is multitalented as well, no idea how she juggles being a CEO, idol and high schooler, but I guess one thing she isn’t skilled at is keeping coffee in the cup lol.

same! she's one of my favorite girls in deresute, so I'm really happy to see her in this episode!
You can buy lossless digital music from your favorite Japanese artists on https://ototoy.jp/.
The songs are all DRM-free and you can re-download your purchased albums as you wish.
Show your support to your favorite artist if you can!
ps. if you are looking for Japanese albums, you have to search it in Japanese (not romaji). Just copy and paste the name.
Good Chie episode with her helping the fashion show with that high schooler CEO, and of course it went perfectly fine, obviously she's going to stay with the idols ahah
I'm assuming that the clothes designs were already in a finalized state, so changing them that late into the process seems highly unlikely... You'd have to source new materials, change the production process, etc. I'm not very knowledgeable on the workings of fashion companies, but it seems almost impossible for them to continue with the planned production schedule... And yet somehow they are for sale on the website already? Also, there is no way they made anything that looks decent in the amount of time they had. They might be good, but there's no way they could match anything professionally-made... But they have cuteness armor, so it all works out anyways.
Other than that, the poor CEO girl's schedule... It's something I'd want to see...
Chie was cute this episode, though we didn't learn too much about her. Looking forward to next episode!
its easy to forget sometimes that they're 9 or 11 year old children. though what do i know, kind of funny.
(but yeah pretty sure the tropes are uh, a bit flanderized/hyperbolic/exaggerated, like dont like 5 of the girls use 3rd person for themselves?)
this time we have chie, and miria and koharu
funny thing is, well miria is miria and she's really the opposite, while koharu, shes not directly quiet per say, just that she has uhm how do you call this personality. while chie of course she's the one who's like that
sooo. this time we have a pretty big guest character, but only one?
was not expecting her to uhm, ask for chie to join her. heh.
so was it serious or a joke? oh well, maybe both
oh my gawd you have to be kidding me, this is even worse of a dorama plot twist than i thought. i assume "the pros" have like, backups? i really dunno though..........
anyway one dorama later, like miria, even koharu could just go on stage, chie though a bit more difficult for her.
i actually forgor, ep 6 also had two separate insert songs, this time too
(chie's song really is about sewing? really now)
8 eps in, just left kaoru and then who knows whats gonna happen in ep 10.
they looked very cute on stage :3 the blonde took chies designs and sold them?
also had just played pkmn white 2 and could not stop hearing the nimbasa gym theme because of the model stage
