Looking at MAL, this series has less than 100,000 members and is ranked in the 2000s for popularity. Now I'm not saying that this should be on par with the top 100 or anything crazy like that. But I found this series extremely relaxing and enjoyable. I was in the middle of some state testing when this was airing and I can certainly say it helped me get through a pretty rough time with all of the studying and headaches that come with exams. Let me know what you guys thought of this one :)

Agreed that it didn’t do much. Had the misfortune of being watched after I had seen Yakuza Babysitter, which does this premise so much better. Also, the main draw of this show is the pastry knowledge, but since I don’t live even remotely near a shop like that, it all went over my head.

I thought it was forgettable, but it wasn’t a bad watch.

I really enjoyed this anime and it also helped me through a rough time
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

I liked it, it wasn’t focused on school or anything like that. Which is what we mostly get for slice of life. I thought it was enjoyable, and the music was great too. But definitely not something I would expect to super popular.

I was kinda disappointed.
MC was kinda cringe by being outclassed by a literal elementary schooler and consistently being a loser. Because of that, I did not liked that he was supposed to be her father, while brother would be more appropriate, since this guy can barely take care od himself, let alone a child.
Strong 6/10.

I liked it a lot. Very much in the same vein as Sweetness and Lightning, Usagi Drop, and also similar to other cute and slow sol like Yuru Camp and Non Non Biyori. These are some of my favorite kinda of anime.

it was a really enjoyable and relaxing show, even the intro and outro was really good. I hope we get a season 2.

If rent a gf has a season 3 before season 2 ends then this deserves a season 2

If Heartwarming was an anime, this would be one.

There's some anime that only has one season that I like & doesn't have a second season, such as Asteroid in Love, Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater, Slow Start Interviews With Monster Girls, Takunomi & several others.

Def a very enjoyable slice of life, it was cool learning about the Japanese sweets, wish the manga would get translated so I can continue on with the story.

It’s a masterpiece of iyashikei entertainment. 10/10. In one episode I was bawling my eyes out and then rolling on the floor laughing 10 minutes later. I’ve watched it twice and read the manga chapters that I can find in English.

I notice the manga has been translated and published in multiple languages, but we are still waiting for an official English release of the manga.

This is one of my top 10 favorites of all time.

I thought it was kind of bland and boring because Itsuka was a little too rude and never changed that much. I went into this wanting a childcare show since it's one of the tags but didn't get much of that. I thought it was average, nothing bad but not much interesting either.

It was fine, good for giving you some warm fuzzy feelings indeed. Now it's mostly an episodic and slow slice of life, but there are definitely plot elements to it, mostly surrounding Itsuka's relationship to her mother and father from what I remember. I feel like there were a few loose ends that could've been more neatly tied though.

Mostly worth your while ig, but could probably benefit greatly from a second season imo.

for me it's the complete opposite because of one huge factor and that's the desert making aspect i was going to college for culinary but really wanted to be a baker in the end but had to drop out for health reasons and this anime just filled my heart still to this day almost 6yrs later from when I had to drop out makes me sad I couldn't achieve my dream but maybe one day I will

It was alright. Some impressive background art, some cute character dynamics and designs and a great setting with the shop and all that. Having said that, I thought the writing was pretty basic and that in its runtime, it didn’t provide as many satisfying character and story beats as I would have liked.

So the show didn’t really hit for me, but I’m happy for you and everyone that did vibe with it more.

I was pretty disappointed tbh. I felt like they spent too much time on uninteresting side characters/plots and the main duo didn’t really get to build their relationship in a more meaningful way. The more touching moments felt far and between and the humor wasn’t enough to smooth it over. Nice moments for sure but too inconsistent and I can think of other shows that tries to do similar things but much better.

Quite the opposite. Yakuza Babysitter was trashy, ridiculous, bland and forgettable. Its the worst Childcare anime I have seen.
My Childcare ranking:
1. Usagi Drop
2. Deaimon
3. Poco's Udon World
4. Barakamon
5. Sweetness & Lightning
6. Buddy Duddies
7. Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting

This is not including animes which are tangentially childcare like Spy x Family or 3gatsu etc. Even then I would rate Yakuza the worst probably.
Also Deaimon had good ambiance. The visuals were good, the unconventional rural accent was pinpoint accurate, the sound direction was great too. Only negative thing I know is the 2nd episode which was bland enough to make people lose interest.

A really nice show. It was great to watch Deaimon while it was being released. I am still waiting for a second season.
