The official website of the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Cosmos movies revealed on Tuesday nine additional cast members. The first movie is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on June 9, with the second movie opening on June 30.

Cast
Sailor Iron Mouse: Sena Koizumi
Sailor Aluminum Siren: Ayumu Murase (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun)
Sailor Lead Crow: Youko Hikasa (Little Witch Academia)
Sailor Tin Nyanko: Mariya Ise (Chainsaw Man)
Sailor Heavy Metal Papillion: Haruka Kudou (BanG Dream!)
Sailor Lethe: Shiori Mikami (Shingeki no Kyojin)
Sailor Mnemosyne: Kanae Itou (Sword Art Online)
Sailor Phi: Fumie Mizusawa (Romeo x Juliet)

Tomoya Takahashi (Gatchaman Crowds assistant director) is helming the movies at Toei Animation and Studio Deen. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Eternal) is penning the script and Kazuko Tadano (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon) designed the characters. Yasuharu Takanashi (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal) is composing the music.

Commemorating the original series' 20th anniversary, the reboot was announced in 2012, with the aim to adapt the manga more faithfully. The first two anime seasons, covering the Dark Kingdom and Black Moon arcs, streamed semimonthly on Niconico beginning July 2014 and later premiered on television in Spring 2015. The third season, based on the Infinity arc, aired in Spring 2016.

The latest two-part movie sequel, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Eternal, opened in theaters on January 8 and February 11 2021.

Those who watch the 90s adaptation and the manga should know they pick Seiyuu to their exact strength in here. Apart from SENA Koizumi because I never heard of her.

I think I will pass. There is a male in there and if I know Toei right it's going to turn into a harem or a heterosexual romance. That doesn't suit my taste. I only accept magical lesbians the rest is not for me =)

@Yuri-Crusader That male is still voicing a female character. idk how you came to the conclusion that Sailor Moon of all things would turn into a harem because of him.

I am literally un shock they cast a dude as Sailor Aluminum Siren of all people! I don’t like that because sailor senshi are female and I thought Naoko Takeuchi expressed that not only she wouldn’t like the starlights to be male transforming into females but also that it should be a all-women team! I don’t dislike Ayumu Murase but he will never be Inoue Kikuko. Just my opinion. Smh

@Zakkxx1_  Many male characters don't become female because of the female cast. In this case, the male VA was chosen because of the androgynous voice.

@RobertBobert i know this one would be hard to understand for people! I’m just so fussy about Sailor moon and I love my all female cast. I know that female seiyuu voice young male characters so the contrary should be fine but for me it’s hard to get a male voicing a sailor even though the voice is definitely convincing. I would also be taken aback if It was a female voicing Mamoru. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion. I know my opinion will be in the minority here but I can’t help it. I won’t protest but actually it’s more that I am fed up with the ageism in the voicing industry in general so it was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I think the version deserved to have the original cast back in the first place.

@Zakkxx1_  This is not ageism, but sexism. But anyway, all the VAs from the original Cast are over 50 years old.

@RobertBobert To me ageism and sexism go hand in hand but it was a very one-sided directorial move to shake up the casting knowing the original actresses were still very much active. I mean they never changed the casting for Dragon Ball, Card captor Sakura or Detective Conan. I know how controversial it was to announce new casting for anime such as Doraemon or Lupin and it was obvious since the original cast wasn’t working anymore and some of them passed on but I remember the enraged fans. Sailor Moon fans are less fussy lol.. I guess I’m the odd man out ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Maybe not a harem. But at least two of the females in the role list have a male love interest. Also, they are a supporting male in this that has romanced one of the girls or something like that in the past

IMO Toei seems to be extremely obsessed to cram in heterosexual romance in their magical girl show therefore I avoid anime from this studio

I only accept magical lesbians and prefer my anime to be male-free. This anime is probably not going to live up to my high standards and therefore I not going to watch it

Instead of wasting my time on something I know I'm going to dislike. I rather finish Magia Record season 2

No males in that one, Only cute magical lesbians,,,YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES

The shows you mentioned were prime sequels and never had that kind of time span.
