Hina going out alone wasn't a succes till but she recieved help in the end.
The part where she had to help preparing the fish was funny tho i have to agree that it seems like a scary thing to do, not sure if i would be able to do it.
And the teacher showing her bad side ones again.

I'm so proud of Hina. She went fishing by herself! That's massive on her part, from where she came from, she really has grown.

As well as the shop owner.

Hina messed up but she learned a lot of things from this so it's a win win for her. The shop owner was quite funny.

Kotani-sensei IS BACK for more food...stealing food, that is. But not without Prez Kuroiwa's suggestion to keep her in check, and tolling juniors Hina and Natsumi over. The shop owner is nice though, save for his pervertic puns.

Another session for fishing horsies, and Hina donning on her favourite jacket, but familiarity doesn't equals consistency, and Oono's experience terrifies Hina, much less from Kuroiwa and Natsumi's chagrin to the point of hilarity and getting her to be dirty to enjoy the good stuff. WHEW the power of imagination helping her tremendously at the expense of losing her soul. That was obscenely funny.

What a way to reaffirm growing to be a fine feminine. Good for you Hina!

Going fishing alone for the first time, and things are getting more familiar, but still taxing because her techniques aren't quite right. Natsumi's involvement for edutainment really helps a big deal to Hina to get the essentials right. A good lesson from the experienced friend to the beginner.

Another great episode, and the 3 month wait was worth it.

I think Hina is the same character as Hikari from Rifle is Beautiful (which I recommend).

Anyway Natsumi grinning and backlit by the sun was absolutely the show stopper in this episode. Glorious.

Hina’s dad was almost for sure a pseudo-cameo of Kosaka-sensei. He looked so sickly and worn out. Mom had that mole. Rather interesting. I haven’t read the manga so I’m not sure was was adapted and not.

I think Yuuki is probably my favorite character because she is all I aspire to be.
Natsumi is a close second though.

A great slice of life anime is one where the real life location is parallel to the manga/anime. You can go there after experiencing the show or the read and feel like you have actually been there.

I hate fishing but I’m in love with this show. I’m so happy it’s back! πŸ₯°πŸŸπŸŽ£

The only thing which annoys me about Hina is why is she so rude/dismissive toward Natsumi when the latter has only ever tried to help her? She may do it in a rough, joking, tomboyish manner, but they're around the same age and friends from the past when Hina would stay with her dad in the town she lives in now, right? Is it just a competitive thing?

It's just something which irritates me about characters (or, needless to say, people in actual life in general) when they are rude for no reason to the people kindest to them. In the second half of the episode, Natsumi helped her a great deal every step of the way and didn't extort/bully/show off/etc. but was really encouraging, supportive, and genuinely an asset even giving her words of wisdom and patience and understanding and support, and I get the sense that if that step by step hand-holding lesson were given to her by anyone else in the club she would have been a lot more appreciative, respectful, and grateful.

She even says as much in the line about it being a problem to learn from Natsumi or something to that effect. What is with that complex?

I would have the same reaction as Hina. At least give me some gloves cuz there's no way I'd scrape the insides of a fish with my bare hands...

The mustache octopus old man had caught my attention most on this episode. First time meeting and he teased my girl Hina-chan, fuckin old man!

Hina-chan characterization developed more by sensing the first time experience of fishing alone and learnt more about fishing basics with her best friend. Not to mention her first time emboweling the small fish. Her reaction there was surely a true definition of moeness. Lol. Atleast she could survived that. Yeay!

Its not easy to kept motivated like she did that there. Especially with her first time fishing alone. Her parents should just fishing together with Hina, like the others family had there. Instead of that, they just gave no shit and letting her go like that really put me in fire and laughing a lot. Oh, man, the purity of Hina's characterization was so rare to seen, knewing the fact that she was grown up from the big city. Good job, Hina, your experienced really useful for your better adult life in the future. I mean, as a good wife!

I believed she just did that in a competitive manner. She act more likely to be a tsundere-ish against Natsumi whenever she helped him. About the past, Hina actually did not remember that event. So, yeah, her action kinda understandable for me knewing their interaction just newly added into her new life.

Hina just in straight savage mode thinking they are plushies. Holy lord I was laughing so hard.

Fox Yuuki making a return and I love it.

Also there was no truer statement in this episode more then this scene.

Ohno-senpai is so reliable~ *girly sigh*

Another lovely episode. Sayaka-sensei's antics sure are making this show even more entertaining than before.

And as for Hina, it was nice to see her deciding to go fishing by herself and although she still needed some major help from Natsumi, I'm glad she's showing more and more interest in this hobby.

This was a nice episode. Hina tried her hand at solo fishing, which didnt go so well, but with some help they managed to get quite the haul.

It is also nice to have an episode where you get to see Hina's family, and it isn't all about the club.

A different episode in the narrative structure, but not by much: the first part is funny and just as crude as regards certain aspects concerning what comes after the fishing, we must admit that nothing is sweetened even if the aspect is developed in a context comic background. The second part is more interesting because it is a little more technical and meaningful due to the message that is conveyed by the character of Natsumi. Very good quality and beautiful designs, animations and backgrounds. It is surprising that even in this episode the character of Sayaka is immediately seen again, who in truth is also a bit unpleasant in his way of doing.

Hina went solo fishing. That was a nice and relaxing moment. However, she is still not so experienced, but fortunately, Natsumi came to help her a bit.

Kotani-sensei was again so hilarious.

Usually I like characters like Kotani-sensei, but for some reason she seems like worst girl. I guess usually the characters like that have redeeming qualities, and so far she has shown none. I guess she IS a nurse, maybe it would help to see her be useful at least one episode.

Other than that, I was somewhat worried that the bait Hina bought was going to be a con. It's nice to see that Old Man Octopus isn't a rapscallion and that it was simply a matter of hook sizes.

I love how each girl dresses a little differently. They each have their own style that is reflected in their clothing as well as their speech or actions.

This gets compared a lot to Yuru Camp, but for me, this is a couple of notches above Yuru Camp. I'm probably just biased for the Breakwater, because I'm a fisherman myself. But it just seems there is more depth to the story and characters here at the Breakwater.

I still think Hina's dad looks like he has TB or cancer. He is the most sickly anime character I've ever seen. I hope he makes it through the season!

You might be surprised at the opportunities for fishing. These days, a lot of people do "urban fishing" in canals, ship channels, or creeks and ponds in the middle of the city. Most towns stock ponds in city parks where you can fish. And if you use google maps or any maps app, just zoom in and look for the blue lines near your house or apartment. You can get really good tackle for $50-100 and be on your way!  Find a creek or pond and you'll probably find other anglers who will answer your questions. But these days the internet has a lot of that info too. And if you are not sure what lures to use, just get an assortment of smallish hooks and try worms, mini-marshmallows, or canned corn kernals with a small bobber on your line. I'll bet if you went to Wal-mart you could get everything you need for $30 or less. But then there is the fishing license. Check your local regs. Good luck!

Thank you so much! I think I will look a bit more into it, though Wal-Mart is a little out of the question for me (nearest one is like a 3-5 hour drive away LOL), but I'll have a look on my map. I also live in a pretty dry region, but I do know of a creek and a small river in the area so I guess I could check those!

It pains me to see them not use gloves when gutting a fish. Especially since I use gloves for everything. There's like, no reason to use bare hands.
