Damn, not only does Vash and his crew have to be careful of the environmental hazards of their world but also hostile humans too wherever they go. Tough world.

Feels like when I'm watching Vash run, he's running from his fate especially with that bounty on his head. His name is getting more infamous everyday in their world.

So this was the recreation of that betrayal from townsmen episode we had back in original, though betrayal didn't catch up with surprise.

Would've fancied more action but oh well the episode established one thing, just how massive of a pacifist Vash is.

Vash finding his way out of crazy scenarios could be an alternative title for this show. Vash keeps getting wrapped up in these things not only because of his caring nature but his brother who we've only seen through flashbacks so far. Knives keeps making you trouble that gets pinned on Vash. It is convenient for Vash that it's his twin but that's just how Knives is. Vash again though is tried to be captured by the town folks so they can get the reward money. Its harsh but understandable they need the money to feed their kids. I loved the chase scene in this episode with Vash running across rooftops and through buildings dodging bullets. They really showed off how good the CG can be in this show. That scene and the one later with Vash shooting the bullet midair really gave a full display of how good the animation really is. The expressiveness of the character's faces also shows how natural it all looks with the CG. Vash fading the Nebraska's is also something from the original show. It happened later back then but it's nice to see that here again. Another way of showing how caring Vash is even to people he shouldn't be caring towards. That his good nature has it's benefits and it can rub off on people like these town folks helping pull the big guy up. Despite him being killed later by those little exploding bug looking things. Laying some intrigue for later.

very fun animation lots of camera movements since that is the power of 3DCG

and ye i think im beginning to remember that Vash was also a pacifist in the original anime and to him its only acceptable to fight when protecting or saving people

Damn is that guy dead? After saving him he didn't even last a day. Guessing those things are from Knives. Vash shooting the bullet was cool.

Oh yea, I almost forgot how much of a pacifist Vash is. But tbh that aspect of his character makes the moments where he does draw his gun much cooler.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

I must say I like the change of execution of things. The Nebraska familiy being a bit more fleshed out, keeping them as villain but that could be reasoned with, slightly introducing that most people are pushed to lose reason due to the unfriendlyness and roughness of that planet.

And I see a lot of potential for that Roberto, hope they unravel more on his character, so that Milly's sacrifice wasn't in vain.

Yup, there are wanted posters for Neon, Marilyn Nebraska, Rai-Dei the Blade and even Nightow. Descartes also appears at the beginning of this second episode.

And we have this cameo too

Fantastic episode. Familiar beats to the original, but with enough reimagining to keep things fresh.  Love how everyone was concerned with the cost of ammo.  And smaller details like how Vash's coat has a zipper.  Great stuff.  Really liking the OP now too.

Just like the first episode, its like the source material but less interesting.

Also Vash just randomly running away while armed and dangerous criminals are next to civilians is really out of character. Also Vash just letting them go without any contempt after they shoot at people is also really out of character. Every bad thing that happens to people in this episode are the direct result of Vash being incompetent or a coward instead of his pacifism. Very frustrating and disheartening to watch.

What made the original confrontation with the Nebraska family so interesting is his pacifist values were being put to the test (not to mention the question of "is this really Vash the Stampede"?) when he was forced to shoot for the first time after 5 episodes of never doing so, which not only made Vash appear so much more threatening and mysterious, but also really elevated the conflict of the show to new heights. Here, Vash isn't challenged at all and everything ends a little too perfect. "Perfect" endings did happen in the original, but as a result of Vash being incredibly powerful. Every notable thing that has happened thus far hasn't really been as a result of Vash much at all.

Also yeah, Milly was so much better than this Robert guy so far.

I had a few minor issues while watching the episode (like how it seemed as if the characters and plot were skewed in a way the studio can show off their 3dcg).

But it really hit me when they were trying to rescue Gofsef and Rosa was faced with the father trying to save his son (it was like looking at her own reflection). That moment saved the episode for me.

So far so good. I think this anime feels very Trigun. I just wished Vash was as talkative as in the older anime and was more silly.

That episode was quite a wild ride. Like a battle royal between Vash's team, the Nebraskas and the villagers. I like how, in the end, the day was saved, but actually nothing was solved. One of the town's plants is still dying and they have no money to replace it. The Nebraskas are still wanted killers. And Vash didnt solve anything for him either. In a way, Maryl is right about him only running away.
Just as I was wondering how they plan to solve all this, the twist with the lost technology comes in and Gufsef is apperantly killed.

I really liked this episode a lot, much more than the first one. The animation is beautiful and both the characters and the world itself are interesting. Looking forward to the next episode.

The backgrounds are so awesome, it's such a pity the characters are 3d.

I agree with observsations about this "new" Vash, he is made out to be a total coward...

Very interesting. I haven't watched the original and I find this one to be decent. would have preferred traditional animation but the CGI is at least better than that CSM crap.

This one continues to be a blast.
The animations on the clothes and movement resembling drawings at times really impressed me.
I still don't love the cuter look but many things look cooler too and overall the production is just so good, everything works perfectly together, if I had never known about trigun prior, I wouldn't even have anything to complain.

The 1 thing I truly remember from yhe original is hating the end. In all these years I've never bothered to rewatch it, but I'm considering it now. Vash running kept reminding me of Disney. I loathe how he has been animated, but I enjoy the story. RIP Gofsef

I think I saw people say that Vash or some other part of last week's episode looked like it was from a Disney movie. Well, this week we've got Father Nebraska who looks like he was ripped out of a Toriyama gag manga!

Just a few days I rewatched Trigun original and is considered masterpiece by many fans, me included, this season we got this new reboot I must say is SHIT in comparison and WOKE.

Lets start:

  1. - Shitty CGI: I read people comments saying it's great CGI but I desagree, it's not, and it's ugly, it's ruining all, remember me shows like Ajin... it's weird how characters and backgrounds don't glue very well here and come'on in a show like this looks like shit, this is not a fucking Gundam, original traditional animation is far superior, and desings are better in the original anime.
  2. - Where's Milly?? and who is this Roberto WTF? I can't undestand why to change a great character like Milly and loose all her history with Wolfwood... but I think must be the new Netflix woke movement spreading by all new shows this days... no more sexy bad ass girls, no fanservice, no boobs, stupid hairstyles trying to look modern just like wokematrix 4? And what happened with Meryl Strife? wtf is she wearing now? Vash looks decent but bad animated, his old hairstyle looks better on him no fucking sense.

  3. Regarding this episode, I had to cut in the middle almost spitting my beer xD when I watched this ridiculous new Nebraska brothers, hilarious!! WTF, the big one Gosef in the original was a 20m+ giant and this one looks like a tiny Frankenstein lol, dumber, tinier, ridiculous and wearing a bow tie xD !! In the original they looked threatening at first sight, now designs in this two looks gay, in general all characters are nerfed respect the original in comparison.
  4. Who needed a reboot like this when we got a masterpiece, why? No one asked for this, I'm gonna drop this WOKE SHIT.

I'm beginning to have mixed feelings about this show. I really liked the first episode, but I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much. I'm beginning to notice things that I dislike. While I kind of like Vash's redesign (although I still strongly prefer the original/Badlands Rumble looks), I really fucking hate what they've done with the character in other aspects. Maybe he was like this in the manga but his demeanor feels off. Here he is presented as being innocent/childlike whereas he felt slick in the original show/movie almost to the point where he felt like a slime ball at times. Even when he acts goofy here it feels off. His face always looks stupid. I really hated this noises he was making when Meryl was interrogating/interviewing him at the bar before the patrons turned their guns on him. This show makes miss the old Vash VA and how that character was portrayed.

Btw, maybe the change will be justified later on but so far Roberto is an inferior change from Milly. They really need to justify this change quickly because Milly was awesome from the moment she first appeared.

The show still feels like it'll be overall less nuanced than the original, but I'm enjoying it regardless. I thought this episode was much better than the first one, and I'm excited to see more.

I also feel like I'm the only one who digs Vash's new look. His personality feels a bit off, though...

Idk i still think they cheaped out on the character models a bit, first of all there's that weird nose and cheek blush, but especially the clothes that look like weird stock models... Why not add some pokets, seams, scratches and tears, patchwork and other decals? The animations and frame rate are also still weird, sometimes its full 30 fps, sometimes it drops down to a 10~fps slideshow... Sometimes its stiff and robotic, other times its extremely smooth and even over exaggerated to ridiculous degrees, so much so it looks out of place and more like something from looney tunes... Like, in some scenes in this episode he's running faster than the ground under him moves, or runs without moving AT ALL/ runs mid air, others the ways he moves doesn't add up with the overall motion and physics of the scene...

The lack of detail on a lot of objects makes them look weird and washed out too. Overall its watchable, but idk, still seems like they could do way better, since i still keep coming back to compare all these new CGI shows to the now 8 year old Etotama which still seems to win in both animation smoothness and scene detail and complexity departments.

For all you guys preferring the old one and trashing this retelling do yourself a favor and try to rewatch the OG trigun. I bet you would'nt be able to stomach it and you would drop it very fast iin this day and age since it aged BADLY. Aside from the stand alone episodes and week of the monster format the OG trigun animations are really bad, plot and narrative are okayish and the same gags are repeated over and over.

Only saving grace is the edgy characters art that we all loved as a kid, good soundtrack, and some nice development toward the end with Legato, Rem, Knives etc.

This new one would probably end being a better package.

i was ready to denounce this anime because it's just difficult and seemingly pointless to get 3D right, and very rarely does a remake compare to the original (which was my opinion as of ep 1, given some cringe antics) but this episode was a real tearjerker and shined both in its own right and in the spirit of the original.

even as i prepared this review in my head during the end of ep 2, they got me again in the last 30 seconds. hoping the rest remains as captivating

I can't say I would be interested in this story at all if not for the original Trigun. The storytelling here just isn't as compelling.

Animation is flashy enough and I don't think it's horrible. It's just... well, it's like microwaving a store-bought pizza instead of eating carefully and freshly baked one. Some ingredients might be the same, but overall feel is so lacking.
