Now I want to know what was the deal with Chisato and LylyBell, a male version of Lycoris. I wonder if we'll ever see them in action. Poor Chisato got beat up... Funny how getting hit by car apparently hurts less lol! Takina laugh at the end was so sweet. |

@RayReynolds another episode that wastes time on nonsense just to make an obvious reveal that chisato one was the one originally responsible for the episode 1 incident umm... You meant to say Kurumi the hacker, right? And how was that obvious? None of the people in the Caffe knew Kurumi was responsible. They assumed it was a different hacker. we have wasted time on these two playing lesbians. sighs... Honestly, people who see Yuri in this show are pathetic. Two girls hanging around or staying in one house isn't "playing lesbian". While the action became completely mindless at this point with chisato being immortal able to withstand attacks from gunshots explosions and nukes. If you wanted to whine about realism, you should've mentioned Chiasto getting hit by car... She did nearly die (gun pointed at head as she's on the ground) this episode and survived only thanks to Takina. |

Hoh, that's really fucking interesting, a boy version of Lycoris called LilyBell. Gonna be exciting to find out more about that. Damn, all this crisis going on at the DA and I'm here like, "man, this shit is cute" lmao. Shit, Chisato getting beat feels wrong, we're gradually seeing her weaknesses, she got Majima's hands and she got beat at rock paper scissors lmao. Takina's getting more and more adorable though as the episodes go by, that dance at the end was peak adorableness. Salute to robo hackerman, he shall never know peace. Really looking forward to see more of the plot slowly unfold. |

The action in this episode was pretty good but again this show got something that makes no sense like Chisato letting the two guys who broke in to her place leave ALIVE !? Why would she do that ??? Also why didn't they fire back when they were shot at, they have guns, so why are they running ?? Also the green haired guy survived unscathed after getting hit by an RPG it's totally bs, even if survive I'm sure he would suffer some injuries. And tbh I think the show should just get rid of him, he is a boring antagonist, he is more like low level boss. Now the Lilybell is far more interesting adversary for the Lycoris and I do hope they make an appearance |

First off, Takina is showing more emotions as compared to before so some development there. Her reaction to winning Rock, Paper, Scissors was very cute. Second off, we now have an animated FBI meme. Third, LOTS of plot armor in this episode, despite full use of suspension of disbelief in this episode. At least it establishes now that her eyes are a weakness and there I was overthinking it too much and thinking they're gonna use snipers to down the girl. Fourth, a potential male Lycoris is a big plus to the anime since it wouldn't make sense to have just females working. |

Oh no that bitch hurt Chisato! Oh yes he got hit by an RPG! Oh no he survived.. The guy seems way more dangerous than I originally thought. Even has the ressources to lounge multiple large scale assaults with heavy losses and find the hacker? Alan institute probably helps him but that just means they are an even bigger threat! Chisato lost big time this episode. Got surprised by the dude in close combat and lost to Takina! Who had the most adorable voice acting moment. Sparing lifes is something you can only afford from a position of overwhelming strength. If Chisato continues to get pushed past her limits she will have to start fighting for real and turn into a killer in the process. (Though I personally dont consider self defense killing). My bet is still Takina will be at risk and she has no choice but to kill.. She also showed her aim isnt actually bad at all, she managed to hit him in a moving car on range. So much for she has to get close. How is every episode better than the last when this already started as a 10? The way they mix drama and fluffy SoL moments is absolutely phenomenal. Honestly the very best I have ever seen. "Are you interested in boys?!" So much for yuri "bait" PS: honestly this is a very strong season, we have 6 shows with a rating above 8, 2 close to it and heavy hitters like Overlord and Made in Abyss are airing. But this right here is the absolute star of the season. Amazing animation quality, amazing voice acting, amazing flow in each and every episode. Absolutely GOATed by A1! |

I've post this in another topic but I suppose I should leave this here as well ..................................... What if Majima (green hair guy) is not a normal person. He said in previous eps. "I am the only one who survived again." This means he has been surviving many life-threatening situation. (Chisato also mentioned "Lily Bell" in this episode. Maybe he was one of them.) If he does have something like super-fast reaction or super durable body then it can also explain why he can catch Chisato off-guard despite her ability and how he survived RPG. ....OR maybe he is one of Alan children like Chisato?? This show is good at fore showing and hinting thing through a casual dialogue and "show don't tell". Many things we thought to be a plot hole or doesn't make sense n one episode (like Chisato dodged bullet, and why Chisato always went up-closed to enemy to shoot) always ends up getting an in-universe explanation in next episode. (Whether you believe the explanation or not depend on yourself ) |

It's been nice seeing Takina come out of her shell in the recent episodes, and her chemistry with Chisato is top notch. This episode was one of the few times we've seen Chisaton struggle, and we see her once again struggle with her eyes. I'm wondering if one of the bigger plot points will be a dilemma between keeping her values with non-lethal bullets, or using lethal ones to save Takina. Moving forward, I'm hoping we see more of a Chisato x Takina duo, with Chisato wearing them down by dodging and attaking, and Takina delivering the finishing blow since she doesn't have the same accuracy problems. Things are definitely gonna pick up from here though. |

That's really cool house. Ngl, I'd love to live in one like that lol. I really expected a cliffhanger ending during Chisato trouble. I'm happy to be wrong. That Majima guy is a bit too sturdy tbh. It's annoying when a villain just comes back again and again. I don't care about realism even - there is a bunch of other over the top stuff in this anime after all - but don't show a guy take serious damage just for it to mean nothing... |

I should point out that Chisato's aim shouldn't be so bad when she's using proper form and posture. But it does make sense in some cases when she's dancing around or flying through the air (i'm not familiar with any trained forms for shooting while jumping off of something). |

I'd enjoy a Chisato x Takina ending, and I'd enjoy an Everyone Dies ending, but I would very much not enjoy both at the same time. Also a great last couple of seconds. Why would one expect an all-girl anime to have some major focus on their male counterparts? From what I’ve seen, that would probably take away some enjoyment from a great portion of the fanbase, many of whom want nothing to do with the potential inclusion of main male characters in this series. |

Secret333 said: This is, without competition, the absolute worst episode of this show so far. So much plot armour. Everyone makes stupid decisions. Injuries and deaths that should happen just...don't. And personal responsibility takes a backseat because the culprit is a little girl. Let's just jump in, shall we? You know, for someone who cares about people's lives that she doesn't want to kill even her enemies, Chisato really shows a concerningly low amount of care after hearing that 4 girls got killed. I find it funny that Majima is appearently such a man with honor that he wouldn't unmask the hacker that he's threatening. Why? Who knows! Majima appearently lost 26 men while aiming for the 4 Lycorises, and of course the Lycorises and the DA are so incompitent that they couldn't capture a single one of them to interrogate them and find out where Majima is or even just his name. Chisato and Takina can no longer "sense" the drone that's following them after being able to do that in episodes 1&2, why? Who knows! 2 thugs break into Chisato's "safe house", meaning enemies have found her place, and she...let's them go? like..not even have them be arrested by the police? At this point the show is telling me that she thinks herself so invincible that she just doesn't care. And appearently this happens often. Is it even a safe house if it's attacked multiple times already? LilyBell is appearently a boys version of the Lycorises. Do I wanna learn about them? given how terrible the worldbuilding in this show is, no thank you. Gotta love that the footage that hacker boi captured of Chisato just shows her face for a split second. It doesn't really show anything about her skills or power. But Majima's like "Yeah I'm convinced lol" Thanks to Kurumi hacking the DA, the terrorists got their hands on guns that they used to destroy a train station, burying a bunch of Lycorises, and then 4 more lost their lives because their faces became known. WTF. You have made Kurumi partialy responsible for all of that, but at the end of episode it's fine because Takina forgives her for getting her fired from DA. I'm sorry but that is the LEAST of her crimes right now. But we can't have the show getting too dark so we won't acknowledge the amount of responsibility this little kid has on her shoulders. Fuck off. And the main action scene for the episode starts. God help me.. A speeding car, which is probably slower than a bullet, heads towards Chisato. No problem, she can jump up or to the sides in time right? nope. She gets hit. Why? Who knows! Majima's gang approarch a Lycoris after they've run her over. Surely they're doing so while aiming their guns at her, even shooting her, like we saw them do last episode right? Nope.they don't do that. Plot armour is a useful thing, isn't it? Chisato is fine! I can only assume she dodged the car somehow. Even though we hear her getting hit, and she's lying on the ground, and Majima and his men act like they did hit her. But fuck it, I'm scraping the fucking barrel here looking for any excuse to get the show to make the slightest bit of sense so I'll headcannon that she dodged then played dead on the ground instead of running away because fuck it. Flash grenade? that's some weak shit. All Chisato needs is her coat to distract everyone and shoot them while they stand there like morons. Why? Who knows! Chisato hits everyone except the guy in the middle. Why? well, we established that Chisato's aim isn't that good because of the bullets she uses. But...she hits everyone else....WHO KNOWS! Chisato's aim isn't good, but when she hits, she gets a fucking headshot, on a guy moving in a car. Because why not? I don't care if the bullet is rubber. That shit made the guy bleed so much his entire face is covered in blood, and then rolled around falling from a speeding vehicle. He should be out for at least a few minutes, right? No, because disabling injuries, concussions, intracranial bleeding, and broken bones don't exist in this world. So he's fine. Chisato approaches Majima, his entire gang is nowhere to be found in this moment. Also, great fucking job Chisato. Standing within arm's reach of the guy when you have a GUN. See, Lycoris Recoil is ahead of the times. I've seen goons in other shows make this mistake to give the protagonists an opportunity, but this show made the highly trained, best Lycoris ever make that mistake. At least everyone is a moron in this show. Remember when the Lycoris in episode 3 (forgot her name) tried to reach for Chisato's gun, and Chisato handeled her so well, then told her "you're dead two times already"? It's fine. Consistent character's power level? What the hell is even that? Majima can now spit large amounts of blood from his mouth. Even though his mouth wasn't hit. Did he land on his jaw rolling from that car? it has to be so broken that he shouldn't be able to talk. Again, instead of killing Chisato, everyone stands around her while Majima is just punching her around. Plot armour is a wonderful thing, isn't it? Remember Chisato's prowess in hand-to-hand combat that she showed in episode 2 before she threw a guy with one arm? And what she did in ep 2 that I mentioned above? None of that is here because we need to generate some tension. I guess his blood is so sticky that she can't just wipe it off her face for a moment. Makes you wonder how he's able to see considering his eyes were shown to be covered a lot more than hers. And Takina shows up just in time to save Chisato...by shooting the gun from Majima's hand...Instead of...ya know...shooting him in the head? maybe his hand itself, if you don't wanna kill him? Look! someone actually bothered to use a suppressor in this show after episode 1! holy shit! Something I can praise the show for! Of course the two guys beside Majima get hit but he doesn't. Plot armour is a very wonderful thing, isn't it? The rocket launcher guy misses thanks to Kurumi, and instead hits the car Majima is getting into, causing an explosion that surely kills him. Right? nah he just gets blown away into water. Not like that explosion would've killed him in so many ways before he even lands in the water but oh well. Plot armour is a magnificently wonderful thing indeed. Of course all of this running over people with cars, gunshots and explosion happen at a park at night where nobody's around to hear anything. Never mind the fact that these noises would've reached the people in the city. oh well. And that's it for the action scene. 10/10 solid sction as always, Lycoris Recoil. Like mentioned before, Kurumi is forgiven for inconveniencing Takina. Therefore she's also forgiven for TERRORISTS getting large amount of GUNS that they used to KILL PEOPLE. And no, her not knowing that that would happen doesn't absolve her of her crimes. She hacked into the DA ffs. Can you imagine someone hacking into the CIA? It's a major crime and multiple deaths have occured as a consequence of this crime. Mika is tending to Chisato's injuries. What kind of injuries she would have after getting run-over, and punched multiple times in the face, you might ask? a small bruise on her arm. it's fine. don't think about it. just enjoy the action scenes. (you can see some bandages around her chest when she's in the clinic, but her face is still sparkly clean) At this point I wonder, if they ever kill Chisato like so many people are afraid, I'd call it a plot hole because her plot armour is fucking bonkers. Weirdlly enough, same can be said for Majima. There are now 6 times in which he should've died but somehow, some-fucking-how he's still alive and kicking. By all means, if I missed something that makes this episode better writing wise please tell me. I'll gladly accept any explanation right now. Lycoris Recoil having a worst episode? No way! Everything supposedly is a 10/10. No fan would believe you in that regard because it just isn’t possible for this series to have a bad episode, at least that’s what the fans seem to think… |

Right? nah he just gets blown away into water. I enjoyed reading your critique very much. I agree with many of your observations, but I would like to draw your attention to one point: the movies in Chisato's safe house. There are Hollywood action movies that are synonymous with over-the-top presentation, such as Die Hard, Rambo, Con Air, Terminator, and The Matrix. Here are some similarities between these and this episode. 1. The main character is always protected by plot armor. 2. Irrational behavior is allowed to enhance the action scenes. 3. Small sacrifices are forgiven for the sake of greater justice. As you point out, this episode follows these cliches to the point of breaking the suspension of disbelief of people like you. But I don't think the creators are dumb enough to be unaware of them. I think they were fully aware, and which is why they dared to place those movies in Chisato's room as a foreshadowing of what is to come. This is because such direction can often be more entertaining than realistic plotting and staging. Although, I may be a little too nice to them, haha. |

These problems existing in other media doesn't mean one should have them. 1- You can have the main character living through life or death situations while making their survival more believable. Reminder that Chisato was nerfed so hard to lead to the entire sequence where Majima has a gun to her head. 2- Many things enhance action scenes. I'd argue irrational behavior weakens action scenes, not enhance them . Because you know that whatever weaknesses or strengths the characters have can just be ignored if the writer wanted a cool action scene, and that sucks. 3- Are you refferring to Kurumi? Because she didn't make sacrifices for a greater good, she just fucked up. I'm not arguing against the entertainment value of the show, as different people can find entertainement in different things. Heck, I was entertained, but this episode was too much. Wether the writers recognize these things or not doesn't really change the fact that they are there. I guess that will become clear by the time the show's over. |

Marina2 said: I've post this in another topic but I suppose I should leave this here as well ..................................... (Whether you believe the explanation or not depend on yourself ) So I've been thinking about this. When you think about it, when Majima was blown away by the car exploding, our main group didn't see him survivng. Normally you'd assume anyone would die from that, yet later on Takina tells Kurumi that she needs to help them catch him, which prompts Kurumi to reveal his name to the group. Even Robota doesn't act surprised to see him again. So either supernaturally durable people is everyday occurance in this world, or maybe they learned from somewhere that his body wasn't found, or he was caught on some camera afterwards. In any case, if he turns out to be some supernatural human, that'd have to explain how he survives all the injuries he sustained so far, not just be something like "oh he has super strength". As for the foreshadowing examples, Chisato dodging bullets was depicted from the beginning as something unusual through Takina's expression seeing it the first time and after confirming it with the hairband. And Chisato getting close was just a weird thing to see not only because she had to get close, which was explained, but also because she didn't look like she was dodging bullets while doing so, just walking forward in a straight line. |

God they are gonna drag this asshole as a villain for 6 more episodes. Kokoro_135 said: How the fuck can someone survive that rocket launcher hit? This is really getting out of hand Without a scratch even. He was just launched over to the ocean. Shit doesn't work that way but expect the guy to stick around this is the main (secondary) villain. We live in a society/trash. It's definitely getting worse with each coming episode. I went from recommending the anime to telling people to wait until it finished. Well we do have people getting not killed by car in the first place. And Chisato managed to recover from that without a scratch. So I wouldn't be surprised if plot armor is literal armor under their uniform to absorb the damage, same way a stuntman can avoid getting injured falling off a flight of stairs. Same goes to this Majima guy. Probably armored inside his clothes. Or whatever it is, these major characters actually has a body that can take even an RPG blowing a car up. Scientifically speaking. |

Chisato's appearance and outfit in the beginning of this episode were especially cute. That being said, this episode was probably the worst looking of all the others. Something about the art and animation just seemed cheaper. There were times when Chisato was shooting that looked really bad -- Just little stuff like that, which I hadn't really noticed with the previous ones. Other than that, I guess Chisato has met her match in Majima. He really didn't seem all that big of a threat to me, but I guess he's, more or less, going to be the major antagonist. Though, for this being the first time the two met, it felt a bit rushed and unsatisfying. It was much flatter than I am used to from this show. This whole episode just felt... off. And, I am rather disappointed that Majima was point blank next to a rocket explosion and survived completely unscathed. I was really hoping they were going to, at least, give him some burnt flesh or nasty scars. Something to moreover fuel his desire to get revenge on Chisato. I think that was a missed opportunity. And really, it just doesn't make sense. It's really hard to suspend my disbelief in this instance. All-in-all, it's likely my least favorite episode so far. |

Hm Well, I rather have to say the opposite to that. The animations were very good again this episode. They reminded me a lot of the first episode. You could see that this time they used more budget. But we got a lot of new questions about Chisato and Majima. I am curious. |

I have a pet theory Majima is a disillusioned LilyBell, and that his (and Chisato's) physical enhancements go further than revealed up to this point. And it has to go further than just artificial hearts and even skeletal durability, since 1) Majima survived without even any burns from a fireball that exploded next to him, and 2) Chisato's face doesn't show any signs of multiple blows delivered by Majima, when the show made a point to feature Takina's face bandage from Fuki's punch in ep.1. If the writers are smart, they'll reveal those things sooner rather than later so they don't seem like an asspull in the last few episodes of the cour. |

My biggest fear is that it turns out to be nothing and they just forgot. My mind keeps going to Marvel's Black Widow movie, and how someone there takes an explosion to the face and sustain no injuries whatsoever when they have no reason not to. I really really hope we don't get that here. |
