Losing and losing is really hard, mentally. Mimimi is really strong because she's trying to keep moving forward even though it's really hard. Welp, Aoi is a really stronger person, she's really charismatic.

I don't feel the chemistry between Fumiya a Fuuka. lol. I think Aoi is a better pair since they have their own language.

The whole election just brings more misery to Mimimi. Tomozaki says something fishy in his monologue at the end of eps. Why do the best girls are the ones who keep losing, not just in love but in general?

That short bit Tomozaki and Fuuka having is the best scene in this eps. Tomozaki, you can't her face is red. You're also getting the embarrassment. Stay together you two.

Mimimi best girl. Her & Tama-chan’s friendship is so precious ♡

I like how Tomozaki is learning through all these experiences & he feels touched by their friendship too. Also really like his library scenes with Fuuka & him reading the books & realising they were actually good was a nice touch. Keen to seen how their story plays out!

but i’ll probably remember over and over again

They're really fleshing out Mimimi's character and I'm wondering why since Tomozaki and Hanami haven't been fleshed out too well yet. Maybe it's in prep for something that'll give Tomo Kun some development, but it 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 seems an odd choice to explore a secondary character so early on.

Aoi is one manipulative girl. Are mizusawa and aoi really dating? It would be unique if they did since there aren't many series where main heroine dates a guy who isn't protag. Also, feels bad for mimimi.
*main antagonist

I haven't read the source material so I am just speculating, pls don't spoiler me if I am right or wrong.

For me it sort of starts to feel like Aoi is actually the antagonist of the story.
She's pulling all the strings trying to manipulate everybody.
It appears that her helping out Tomozaki out of seemingly pure generosity is actually not just the usual anime thing that the perfect anime girl helping out and falling for the MC, because "well,,, it's an anime", but it seems to be a general part of her personality, basically she likes to control people.
I am not saying she's a bad person, she's actually helping people, like Tama and Tomozaki.

What my theory is what happened:
Mimimi is very competitive (probably too competitive), she gave her all in trying to beat Aoi. She lost but overall she did quite well, she got a good amount of votes, and Tomozaki played a rather big part in it.
After she talked to Tomozaki and he said "Aoi told him about the morning practice", she might have pieced things together (a while ago Aoi made her help Tama): She had a relatively good performance on the election, because Aoi wanted it to be that way, as basically Aoi made Tomozaki help her (when he asked her to be her campaign manager, it was way too sudden and random to be a coincidence).
So in her competition with Aoi she did not do this well because of her own effort, but because Aoi, her opponent let her. Overall Aoi did all this with good intentions, but competitive persons can be triggered out of this world when their opponent doesn't face them honestly, even give them an advantage, a way of looking down on them: "haha, even with this advantage you won't be able to beat me".

Anyway, I might be reading too much into the situation, maybe her being overly competitive, just got tired of losing. Either way, it is good to see that the anime is not just a basic high school romcom, there are more complex stuff in there. Like even the thought of the main girl having a boyfriend who is not the MC is quite unheard of in this genre.

I myself haven't read the LN lol but I heard somebody say she's rather the main antagonist (so I know a thing or two, because I have seen a thing or two hehe) and since then I'm taking the things she does in account differently...similar to you but I'm not gonna comment on that.
Regarding your last paragraph, I totally agree with you! And oh boi was I wrong when I watched the first episode and was disappointed thinking this would be another shut-in cringy mc meeting the pretty schoolgirl that suddenly decides to help him

It's not an anime,
without a beach episode.

I love that student election speech part. The fact that Tomozaki is actually preparing Navi to make Mimimi adlib, is pretty creative and Hinami is impressed. But its expected that Hinami will win, since she's just that powerful.

Tomozaki are making advances to Fuka, and I gotta say that their interactions are pretty sweet. Looking forward to that movie date. It's also nice that our MC can talk with Tama-chan more, and our kawaii girl revealed some bit of surface to her and Mimimi's past. Looks like our energetic girl has some scars all along.

Who knows what's going to happen to our energetic girl, drama is incoming, I'm sensing it.

Also this is my 1999th Episode watched in MyAnimeHistory. Damn I've come this far in my journey!

When Hinami was performing her speech I was like "It's over", Hinami won as expected. But, Tomozaki and Mimimi still did a good job.

Another episode with a few minutes of Fuka screentime but I ain't complaining, every second is worth it. We better see that movie date next episode.

Damn, it's to be expected that girls like Mimimi would run out of energy eventually. Looking forward to the next episode.

While I do like Mimimi the most out of everyone, I'm glad they didn't just force her to win based on nothing. That Navi strategy pretty creative (?), couldn't compete with Aoi tho.

Mimimi the goat, she helping everyone break out of their shells. Although, at the end of the episode we can see that she is having trouble herself... someone help her out!

Damn Mimimi wasn't even close to Aoi!!
Aoi turned the tables completely..... She definitely found out about Mimimi's plan and used it to her advantage!!!

Also what's with that ending?? Mimimi wasn't herself the next day!!?? Interesting!!!

Aoi is very calculating and her teaching is terrible. Since we got to know mimimimi better, this anime has become enjoyable.

Election time!!!

And looks like Mimimi and Tomozaki really put in a lot of efforts but still, Hinami won. sad

And looks like Tomozaki-Kun asked Kikuchi-San are gonna go out to a movie!

And we also got to see how Tama and Mimimi got together!

What happened in the end tho..Something happened to Mimimi?

Can't wait to see the next episode! >.<

Election speeches time. Not gonna lie, Hinami-san is really OP when it comes to this. Still Mimimi's speech is quite funny in there.

His relationship with Fuuka Kikuchi is slowly developing. I don't know when they'll start dating but looks like it's gonna be fun

And of course, Mimimi and Tama-san relationship is really cute, although the level of yuri is quite suprising too. But still what's happening to Mimimi on the next day, looking forward for more next episode.

Too bad Mimimi lost the election.

Tomozaki's relationship with Kikuchi is going well. I hope their planned "date" goes well.

That ending has me worried for Mimimi.

So Mimimi lost and the student council president was Hinami, and I wanted to see Tomozaki go watch a movie, with Kikuchi.

Nice ep. There was a lot more character development and I expected hinami to win but I didn't expect her to steal Mimimi's ideas. For me, that was kinda low. Felt that Mimimi and 'the Brain' deserved to win this one, no matter how well thought out Hinami's speech was.
It also reminded me of Kaguya-sama as well, which was nice.

Even though the chances of winning were quite slim with Aoi as opponent, I had some small hope Mimimi would win and escape the curse of always ending second place. Quite the ominous sentence there at the end of Mimimi not being quite herself the next day.

Unsurprisingly Aoi won the election, but damn was it a landslide victory

The parallels between Fumiya and Hanabi with Aoi and Minami respectively are also shown here, not sure what it means in the long run

Always coming second and people expecting you never getting first is really a bad feeling. It might have taken a toll on Mimimi's mental health and maybe that's she is always smiling and over-expressive to hide everything else.

He's making some good progress with them, looks like it's time to hook and reel Tama in too. Then strike all 4 of them when they're most vulnerable.

Okay, by his progress, Tomozaki could seal the deal with girls like Mimimi. But he is still stuck with the girl in the library because he gets tongue tied when trying to move forward with dating, but he can talk normally if the stake is not high.

I wonder if the girl in the library will get her episode that will make us really like her.

Even after all these episodes, I still don't like Hinami. She just comes across as insincere. It doesn't matter what she's doing or who she is talking to, I just don't take anything she says at face value. I really don't like her. Whether she has something to hide or she's just been playing the game too long, I don't know. I will be curious to see if we find out more in the next season and a half. Maybe I'll change my mind.

Nanami seems like she is hiding some stuff behind all the happy-act. She's shown a little bit off already but I hope we will get some variation of emotion from her. I do find her to be pretty likable.

I haven't seen enough of Natsubayashi to really get a good impression but she seems to really care about her friends.

Finally, I do like Kikuchi but also feel disappointed for her because the terms of engagement with Tomozaki aren't all genuine (even though the interactions have moments).

Tomozaki has gotten really likable. I am not very surprised as he is the protag! He's still learning but he is making good progress. I was surprised with his accomplishments this episode, he never came across as very reliable.
