| Is part 2 vastly better than the first 11 episodes of 86? I didn't dislike part 1 I just wasn't crazy about it. I'm not really interested in watching more if there isn't anything majorly different or new. |

For me, I've problems with the characters, presentation of its themes--rather superficial and cheap--and the unanswered questions. |
| Part 2 is pretty different and a lot of people say it’s better. I personally think part 1 which is an adaptation of vol. 1 is the best of the series. But the ending of part 2 is specially good. |

It depends on what you didn't like about first 11 episodes It rarely felt like there was a progressing plot, or things were happening but always very slowly. The only things that really got accomplished was Lena getting closer to the 86 and Shin killing the ghost of his brother. So I'm hoping a lot more happens to be honest. |

| 86 was a 5/10 anime for me. Very well made, a beautiful adaption, but I personally wasn't captivated by it at all and just watched mainly due to the hype. And then 86 Part 2 comes around and it's a 10/10. Idk how but it just did, it hit hard. It made me want to re-watch part 1 sometime, and undoubtedly give it a higher score than a 5. I don't want to skew or influence your own expectations too much, because it might ruin it for you if you come in thinking it's the greatest anime of all time. I'm just speaking of my own personal experience here, but I can confidently say that Part 2 was just about as perfect as an anime can get. We both thought Part 1 was kinda meh, and with that I recommend you give Part 2 a chance. Perhaps you won't end up loving it as much as I did, but I think I can safely bet that you'll like it more than Part 1. Or maybe I was just severely influenced and entranced by yet another beautiful soundtrack by Sawano. Idk, and idc. I loved it |

| 70% of part 2 is much slower than part 1,the last 3 eps of part 2 were almost 10/10 though. For me 86 was never meh so I liked it throughout,Ig if you didn't like part 1 it's not just for you and that's okay. |

The second part is even slower, it drags the same conflict through like 8 episodes and ends with le epic fanservice montage so fans can get hyped about intellectual dishonesty and their waifu. So yeah, it is not too different |

"Presentation of its themes was superficial and cheap" Can I ask why and how you got this conclusion ? By watching the show and seeing the preference of focusing on Lena while trying to tackle the theme of oppression, war, and other serious moments of the topics. It doesn't help when moe, blushing, and anime waifu gags inset themselves in. |
| I liked the 1st part better but the 2nd one is good too Also there's way less focusing on Lena in pt2 which seems to have been annoying for some people who watched pt1 |
| While part 1 focused on Lize, part 2 focuses on Shin, who is better character. It is better. |

Cause I’ve debated for so long Honestly I would necessarily say it IMPROVED; from the most objective standpoint you can get, I'd say they're equally as good as each other. But for me personally, the events themselves that happen in Part 2 just hit so much harder than anything from Part 1. |

| The main focus are the characters for the first few volumes. The plot starts progressing at Vol 4, when the anime ends. |
