Not going to lie, I think the Oni (especially the one from this episode) looks insanely dangerous.

Kojirou's father gave him some really interesting advice about pride and the way of the Bushi in that flashback. Looks like he took those words to heart in the present timeline. Musashi also showed a lot of pride in this episode and I believe that's part of his character personality.

What an action packed episode but storytelling needs to improve imo.

Oh yeah the usual katana = bushi's soul (xD) so Musashi really had to take it back from the Kishin, but well seems like there is another group of Bushi that is fighting oni, but the main duo won't give up os easily, of course.

Pretty good action-packed episode. That Kishin was quite creepy!

I also like that bike, although everyone else hates it, lol.

This follow up episode was full of action already and moved at a fairly slow pace overall with some flashbacks inserted too for Kojiro unsurprisingly. Another formulaic and uninspired episode as a whole, action wasn't terrible but given how this aired a few days after what I got from Demon Slayer with ufotable at the helm, A.C.G.T's work here doesn't really do anything for me here and not like there's other unique elements to this series. Not much to comment on in the story department since this was mostly bland and full of action anyway, the next few episodes should improve on that on paper. Still am not a fan of the bikes/flying bikes that are in this series, they feel really off in a setting like this to me.

Fighting against that Kishin sure took everything out of Kojiro, but Musashi being there at that time definitely brought things in their favor. But well it wasn't the end, as lot of Bushi's, apparently a Bushi band coming down there with that flashy entrance, did the last act. Also got to see captain of that Bushi band too.

It seems like the real reason for this show is to provide for fanservice for women and other people attracted to men. There is an overabundance of male centered fanservice, so it perfectly fine for the ladies to have their day too.

Or maybe they are hoping to ride the Naruto and MHA fanservice wave and make it big. The only issue is Naruto and MHA had much better origin stories than what we have seen so far.

Musashi was really on his Monkey D. Luffy this episode, cutting to the heart of what people actually want, getting it for them, and making sure they acknowledge who they need to be/what they need to own. Musashi lacks the Oda charisma, but it's nice seeing another of Oda's children onscreen. Luffy might not be the first shonen character to behave this way, but no one else can own accountability like Monkey D. Luffy.

After an action packed episode I'm almost certain that this season won't reach any heights beyond decent, especially not within 12 epsiodes.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

This was just eh. The Oni looked scary and disgusting tho. I don't know how Musashi came back unscathed after taking a dip in gastric juices of the Oni.

They better introduce the girl from the ED soon, its already feeling very generic, the power of friendship trope has gotten pretty boring at this point and seems like this anime is gonna focus on it a lot. I'm not feeling much emotions while watching this either. This anime is not emotiomally impactful at all. But when Kojiro was getting beat up by the Oni for not releasing his Katana, it was pretty brutal man, felt kinda bad for him. Also I don't like our MC as of now, I like Kojiro more.

This second episode is not an improvement.
For anyone who thought the bike was out of place from last episode, we now have even more of them.

So far it all feels so bland, the battle was just really dumb with the kishin literally doing nothing as he has his stomach torn apart.
I really dont have much positive to say so far, just not a very interesting show, atleast not yet.

I really didn´t like this episode. I still dont understand how Kojirou has made it to were all the miners. And even after defeating quite a few Oni, for some reason he still doesn´t want to be a bushi, it doesn´t make sense. Later om it seems like he´s finally decided but still, took too long.

Another thing I don´t understand is how does Musashi think he´s already beat the Kishin? He doesn´t even question it.

Finally, another thing that doesn´t make sense is why in hell would Musashi go for the Kishin when the Takeda came. I get it, it was supposed to be their first victim, but the Kishin literally got back up and Musashi starts saying the Takeda came to steal the kill.

I might give it a few more episodes just in case it gets better.

Kojiro is at the cusp of being a Bushi, whie Musashi stil believes in being one to fight against the Kishin evolving into actual monsters.

Kojio's backstory of a family born with Bushi blood, he's had enough of society belittling him in an era where the Bushi didn't matter as much, but it was for the purpose of peace, and as such with the personalized Katana as a Bushi's pride.

Kojiro may have lost his pride and valour, but this didn't apply to Musashi whom put his life as a sacrifice to get Kojiro's katana back and regain his commitment. The Takeda band of Bushi led by Takeda Naotora, his band will help Musashi and Kojiro in the long run, just not now just yet.

Sadly, A.C.G.T's production values hadn't improved much. Still can't get over the inclusion of motorbikes in the Warring States era wiith the bands of Bushi. Putting this on-hold for now...

I think finally getting an influx of some interesting new characters and an order of Bushi really spices things up - cause I wasn’t sure exactly where they were going to go with this. Clearly we have giant insanely powerful monsters right from the start. Should be interesting. How will the protagonists grow? I suspect we’ll see some more mid-strength monsters soon

As a result of their views and family Kojiro and Musashi sure had a tough life growing up. Interesting in that the Kishin was actually just a capsule that hid its main body prior to its powerup. Its 2nd form was much more benefitting of a boss. Though he is clumsy it was pretty impressive seeing Musashi get through his ordeal like it was nothing. The Takeda's entrance into the fray though was damm impressive. But the new insight into the Kishin showed well just how much they underestimated it. Brash as he is im curious to see to what heights Musashi's rage is able to take him too. Also looking forward to seeing the kind of tactics the Takeda will be using as well.

Great episode! The Kishin looked really scary and dangerous once it ate that gold ore substance. Musashi saved Kojirou's sword which was nice to see and a Buji band came out of nowhere looking awesome and ready to fight that Kishin...

Slightly better than the previous episode. The monster design improved by 100% for sure. Well, I still don't like their base forms which is just so unfitting. Also, the bikes? What the hell are they doing there.. Anyway, a band of Bushi's finally appeared to rescue the miners. Seems like they'll be joining them sooner or later.

I think those people who appeared at the end of the episode will invite Musashi and Kojiro to join their group.

I've pretty much loved both episodes so far, it's true I am easy to please with any action/fantasy based stories and get to appreciate nearly any sort of work/anime but I can't really understand why the anime and the manga of it is getting so much hate overall. Well, perhaps everyone has different taste which is completely alright.
For me Orient really scores high so far!

Mostly an action-packed episode with the MCs taking on the Kishin, but the momentum of the fight was interrupted a lot by the flashbacks. That definitely messed with some of my enjoyment. I'm honestly surprised and equally impressed that the Kishin wasn't full CGI, I expected that to be the case tbh. And lmao this dude Musashi really fell into stomach acid and walked out unscathed 💀

It wasn't bad (except getting the same flashback like 3 or 4 times without much of a reason) but also not really good. It actually is the perfect show to have in the background while doing something else.

But for someone like me who has to focus on what's happening, it is too bland. I'll give it another episode, but I doubt it will make much of a difference.

The fight was very lackluster and all we got was a bunch of flashbacks about how the sword is important to the Bushi. However things started to pick up when the Takeda band showed up so hopefully things would be a little more interesting next episode.

People are way too hard on this show, everyone has come to accept being force fed trash harems and trash isekai but low tier shounen is unacceptable? This is a really fun, watch in awe of its wtfness for 20 minutes a week. We need a break from the Demon Slayers and the Attack on Titans too! Now if they just wouldn't be shy and go full BL with it, it'd win some awards for originality among the tropes.

The main character is a firey red head that fights for his dream and believes in the power of friendship. Super original.

The motorcycles look stupid and are not only out of place, but off-puting.

The show is not a looker, but that can be okay as long as the art direction is interesting. Other than some shots of the giant monster, that hasn't been the case.

I try to stick with the "at least four episodes" rule for new anime series because world-building is always messy with exposition, flash backs and character introductions, but this one is pushing it. Generic stuff like this shouldn't need too much set-up.
