Nah this is too much this time, drama because the one who donated her heart to Suzune three years ago is Rena's dead sister, but it's too big to be touching IMO I feel like they really should limit the drama, and meanwhile it's also the beginning of that challenge where they need to eliminate two of them :/

Oh my... Rather dramatic episode although that big plot twist was kinda predictable.

Poor girls. It's so unfair how they are forced to make a decision like that...

Soooo........ where is the ghost???

Drama, Drama is everywhere. In my opinion, either they will try to find a way somehow to let everyone survive the elimination, or Suzune and Rena will volunteer themselves after they can clear up their drama. Then, they will return with something like a redemption round.
Glorious Day is their OP anyways, so it still got a high chance that there will be 9members instead of 7members.

So I'm pretty confident that every single one of us who has seen Idoly Pride saw this coming from miles and miles away, but it honestly still baffles me:

How did two supposedly independent projects end up with essentially the identical plot? Like just an honest question. If someone knows if they're part of the same multimedia project then let me know.

And also, this isnt necessarily a hard condemnation, because I do still enjoy the characters and the songs, but I just find this situation so unusual...

When you cant dismiss Rena when then case of the recipient acquiring traces of the donor is a really object of study, that said, Rena have a justified reason to feel all those emotions.

An aspect strange of this episode was the interview, make a interview to not get votes in a internal voting.

Ok I might have figured out the ending of this elimination voting,
There are 9 of them but 2 are needed to be voted out to reach the final 7.
HOWEVER Glorious Days was sung by a 9 group ( 9-Tie ), which includes all 9 of them
Therefore the ending will be a 9 way tie vote.

LMAO IT WOULD BE SO CORNY IF THIS WAS TRUE.
btw only noticed this now but every episode has a different solo for the ending

So this is basically if you merged Idoly Pride with the playing system of Wonder Egg Priority and Squid Game.

EDIT: After all, Rena is too sensitive, because it doesn't mean that Suzune's heart is really Akari's, because Selection Project doesn't include other variables as testers, something that is done magically by Idoly Pride ...

During the preview of episode 8, saying that only 7 can reach the final, I thought "Maybe Suzune and Rena would get eliminated", and then they said that they would perform "Glorious Days" so there is a high chance that no one would get eliminated

I don't know whether to believe Nagisa or not. Think she'd be pretty good at poker or old maid. Like what is really going on in her head.

The truth has been revealed (and considering I've see this plot twist twice this year) but it was clear what was going to happen.

Regardless of that, I'm looking forward to seeing how they end this. Plus I'm happy that Suzune is not shy about showing the scar anymore.

Random note: Ao looks like she'd fit in as a Pokemon gym leader.

I love it, but idol shows HAVE to ditch the heart transplant trope lmao. It’s actually kinda wild they copied Idoly pride’s whole vibe and even art style. Even the girls who got the deceased artist’s heart look the same in both shows and have the same personality, little sister of deceased artist learns about it and has breakdown, wow.

I got really emotional when Rena had that flashback to Akari going into the donor transplant room. Really tough episode all around, but suzune and rena’s feelings are valid. That was cruel of Rena to insinuate that Suzune was only there because of her sister tho. Unfortunately people say mean things when they’re hurting.

Looking forward to seeing how the girls work things out going forward, really good episode as always

"Everyone thinks I'm always scheming" as she so clearly baselessly accused heart problem-chan of doing the exact same thing. God kicking her out should count as 2 people at this point lmao

but on a real what kind of shitty idol program even is this, resembles more of a shitty reality show lol. It's like they're trying to show the viewers (as in the viewers in that world) the formation of an idol group by the most toxic means necessary like bruh

also inb4 this does end up going the Grisaia route and Suzune ends up having a split personality all along. But hey, at least Rival-chan technicallyyy can dance on stage with her sister amirite?????

rival-chan turning into runner-chan, also known as running-away-from-your-problems-chan. they both finally realized that akari gave suzune her heart. they both cry, and suzune appears to be at the same bridge that she ran to when she ran out of the interview where she confided in her surgery. i was hoping to confirm which of the 9 they were voting out, but that will have to wait at least until next week.

Yay heavy drama but not gonna lie, I was so occupied about the whole voting girls off that I forgot about the letter. I didn't expect to see Rena's mum send it to Rena personally.

The drama was a bit too much. How can you blame someone for receiving the heart of your sister, it's not like it was Suzune's choice. I did feel sorry for Suzune, not only did she get that look of disapproval from Rena, but it was just as much as a shock to her that she has Akari's heart in her body.

All I wish for now, is a 1 vote tie between all 9 of them... and I feel like that's likely going to happen but I love to be proven wrong.

Quite an emotional episode, but didn't hit as much as IDOLY PRIDE did

So while some are saying everyone will get 1 vote each, that could be probable. But alas, this happened at the start of IDOLiSH7, their company President was doing it for a test. Pretty sure this is just to prepare the girls for the future life of being an entertainer, as how Rena said.

Either way, I highly doubt we won't end up with all 9 not singing Glorious Days

Its too hard now to watch. They are at a breaking point. The twist is kinda predictable, but still, the aftermath is too much.

Suzume did not expect to have this, but Rena could not take it. As if Rena is fighting against her own sister by Suzume.

Ugh. Feeing nervous for the next one. Doubt for a resolution on this. :(

I feel like Rena actually wanted to vote kick Suzune, because the rivality reason. However, since she received that cursed letter from the obvious Suzune, her way of thinking changed, remembering the past day when her sister death, and she couldn't help but feeling conflict. Was it right to vote her sister out? That's why she's running all around the world, not knowing her sister actually feeling okay with everything she decided. So, stop fooling around and did your interview, Rena!

On the other side, as expected everyone else said such a dishonest, cliche words. Ofc no one even dare to vote kick your closed friends. But, what about the other girls on the other group? Too bad there's no monologue beside Rena and Suzune, on this episode. If there's, it must be good to know more about what they truly thinking about the vote plot.

At least there's one girl that said an honest opinion, Nagisa. She already planned out the thing that might save her ass and her group, considered the interview segment like the political speech to gain liking, and else.

May the best person get the best place in the end. Or there's none, because everyone else get the place? Lets see next....

Suzune has Akari's heart. Colour me surprised.

Oh the drama with the girls needing to vote two out and then now being revealed who was the heart donor of Suzune. Not fair for the girls hey, having to choose which two of their friends will leave. The title of the song that the group will be singing is "Glorious Days" which happens to be the OP song, there will have to be a way that all nine of them will sing that song. I was thinking each of the girls will vote for themselves but the most logical I can think is Rena and Suzune once they resolved their issues and there will be a surprise arc where both of them will come back. This is like big brother of idol show anyway, that kind of scenario is possible.

Yeah, honestly I agree with OP here. The drama falls kind of flat. It feels like a "cute girls doing cute things" anime but oop, gotta have some plot so here's some random contrived drama. Like it isn't blatantly obvious they forced the voting to create negativity / drama / ratings on the show. If I wanted to watch reality TV I'd just turn on TLC. I'll probably finish this but it's a massive disappointment and the songs are so generic.

Great episode! Predictable or not, that's not really the most important aspect, far from it, it's the execution that is most important, and I think they executed it pretty well. Pretty painful episode all around though, the voting and then Rena and Suzune finding out that Akari was Suzune's donor.

The song they're going to use for the final round is the OP Glorious Days which is sung by all of them hmm. I think there's no way that there will be 2 of them eliminated, but I am curious on how they're gonna do it.

Can't blame Rena for the things she said even if she doesn't really mean them, out of all people, the donor of her rival/friend had to be her sister. I am sure it's pretty conflicting inside. Really looking forward to the next episode.

also, can these girls stop running away from the other girls every time they're faced with a problem or dramatic situation? pretty sure the main girl ran away, the blue-haired girl ran away, the mother of the group ran away, two of the members of the dance team ran away... who's next?

Ok episode. Nagisa was scheming to coordinate her and some other girls' votes so that they could single out one person because she was scared people would vote her out as people think she is always scheming xD. She then starts crying being the weirdo she is. I don't like her at all. Such a fake person imo. Also, I called it when this show started that Suzune's heart donor was most likely Akari Amasawa and guess what... she was! I don't get why Rena got so mad and upset over her sister being the heart donor though... Suzune didn't do anything wrong.

Looking forward to the next episode!

So much drama...

Nothing wrong with the Big Revelation™, even if it was predictable.

But for the elimination, it's plain stupid. The incompetent show-runners of the in-anime idol tv show are unable to create selective enough elimination rounds, so too many girls are left for the following round ? Just force the decision on the idol teenagers !
The girls are not that bright either. The mascot guy menaces them of eliminating them all if they don't choose 2. Just reply: "OK then, disqualify us all and loose the rest of your show for the season". End of the drama. This is a f-ing TV show, of course they will not eliminate everyone, the producers want money !

It seems I really needed to vent about this ^^

They arent even hiding it at this point from what I hear. I mean come on even the dead famous idol's little sister share the same birthday, we are way beyond *coincidence* since the getgo. At this point I am expecting things to unravel almost identical to Idoly Pride, tho I havent watched that idol show which makes this exp a little surreal for me.
Nonetheless I still enjoy the anime cause of the songs, art design and theme.
Tho I kinda hope they tone the drama down, this works best as them competing against each other or just them working together as a group, singing and dancing.

I'm a little disappointed with the lack of strategy in this round. Other than Nagisa, no one has mentioned any strategy for winning. No one has even mentioned intentionally tying up the vote, so no one is voted off.
Also, the whole "the ones who get on that stage are the ones who deserve it" thing doesn't make sense. If you were voting people off, you would choose the best idols since they are the biggest threat to your victory.

I wish I was at my usual early to post this episode, because the Idoly Pride twist is full-on 100% THE SAME, not like I'm the only one who noticed the blatant similarities.

The internal vote to vote 2 out of 9 girls to be left 7, the idol hopefuls are obviously taken aback. The song being the show's OP really was too predictable (like all 9 girls are obviously gonna survive somehow). It's every idol for themselves.

This reality show's "drama" I was really hoping to fail and miss at one critical point, and this episode proved it all that the "decisions" made just to create the unnecessary drama of letting the votes say for themselves as opposed to the girls making this decision themselves. I get that Selection Project was trying to break off the shell of Idoly Pride, but some writer must be affiliated with the latter to write the EXACT SAME SCENARIO and just change some to make it feel "different". HELLO, WE ARE NOT IDIOTS.

Most particularly between Suzune, Rena and Akari, the heart transplant "plot twist" that the deceased Akari was the one who donated her heart to Suzune (if you can even call it that a plot twist), we all saw that coming from miles or even kilometres away.

I would watch more cringe just to finish this. Also...

I would make this plea: To those who haven't watched Idoly Pride before, watch that instead, it's the superior anime.

Nope, they aren't. The projects JUST happened to be released around the same timing, and that "connection" may have very well doomed the project (Selection Project) coming after who did first (Idoly Pride) whom had an anime first.
