Not going to lie, I'm not surprised to see Dai charge in like that with all his might. Some of the words this episode triggered him.

And as most characters probably know by now, he's not the type to back down from anyone. What an ending :o

Great episode but it should have been better ! Of course i'm harsh because i compare with manga material.
I found some scenes rushed and maybe too static. Sometime drawings are not as beautiful as in the manga, too bad...

It still a good action pack episode with a lot of tension and good music. The best moment is dai's speech (with the OST resonance of the dragon crest)

Vearn slashed at the end was too rushed IMO (but they had to finish the episode on this cliffhanger)

A very good episode but Vearn's speech was done so much better in manga. This episode has full potential to be the best of all but sadly they missed it :(
Still a great episode for animes-only but again, you guys must check the manga side-by-side!

There's no way Vearn is dead there, it's just not that simple. Next matter how much I would want it to be for our heroes who've been through so much its just not gonna be that easy defeating someone like Dark King Vearn. We saw throughout this entire episode that his power far exceeds every single one of our heroes power. Vearn all on his own was destroying them. Every time the heroes tried to come up with some move to outsmart Vearn it didn't come close to working. Popp tried hard with that ultimate move but Vearn literally bounced it back. Dai was hit once at the start and thrown out of commission for most of the episode. Not waking up until the end were he tried like hell but couldn't make progress. Knocking away those spells by Vearn but only able to do that small amount. Vearn being able to attack and defend at once along with his super fast attack speed not needing to pause between attacks makes him near unstoppable. The heroes would have to somehow match both his speed and power. Which is something they can't do right now. Looks like next episode Vearn finally realizes he might need some help.

Constantly comparing the manga to the anime seems to only bring you and Le-Contuer pain. Maybe just enjoy them both as separate ways to tell the same story. All you're doing is warping anime onlys perspective

Of course manga readers have way more expectations for an adaptation that we had to wait for 30 years than anime-only fans, also way harsher view. Why? Because the manga is too great. I'm just saying what I'm thinking and giving honest reviews. It's been like that since episode one XD

Exciting fight with Popp as a MVP of the battle just like Killvearn said. The only thing I complain is that the next episode preview is spoiling too much. Yes, I know that Vearn is not gonna die that easy but still...

Sad that Baran's body is gone, I could use his body to my pleasure.

exactly! I’ve read the entire manga myself aswell & while this episode wasn’t exactly a 10/10 like I was hoping for, it was still amazing regardless (a solid 9/10), an improvement over the source material & I’d even go as far to call it one of the best episodes in the anime so far. My only major complaint was the sun still shining too brightly while vearn was clutching his hand during his speech which just didn’t give off the same vibe as it did in the manga panel or the anime’s latest op for me, but besides that though the episode was still fantastic nonetheless

Dark King Vearn is not called the God of the Underworld for nothing. He was just toying with them easily. And he can make a lot of psychological attacks too which is also dangerous. Tempting your opponents or even provoking them gives an opening. He even wants to destroy the surface world so the underworld can have the Sunlight it can give. Understandable, but it is still cruel and evil. Dai strikes back with a blast that wounds Vearn. However, it can't be that easy.

I see this as a different interpretation

In manga, Vearn's hand fully capture the sun is the metaphor that he'll succeed destroy the Surface world

In anime, the sun outshine his hand is the metaphor that the Surface world will survive and Vearn will lose.

So if the final result Vearn manage to destroy the surface world, then the anime interpretation is wrong.

Episode was EPIC! I’m such a dummy, I finally understand the context of the spoilers in the opening, it looks like an all out war is going to break out in the next episode. The animation was dope, Dai looked like a badass. I still have no idea how they are going to kill Vearn, he seems too OP. Maam was able to do some damage tho, we’ll see if she and the gang come up with a way to kill him.

Damn, Vearn just easily incinerated soulless Baran like that without a doubt. Though, that's a bit sad seeing Dai was easily down like that. But, the point there was to pointed out just how op that old being. No cd to his magic, instantly regenerated shit and had a strong mental to actually able toying the weak. Poor Maam that was thinking she could did more damage and almost tripped onto Vearn's trap. The later part was also nice to see more of Vearn way of speaking, which unbeliavably quite charismatic, tbh. But, the game still on when Dai finally still stood and awakened the poor soul surrounding him. Then, tyvm preview. Now i can sleep with no curiosity.

No it's ok dukino. I found the episode great but it should have been better !

Sometimes the anime is > to the manga. Dai vs Baran fight episodes were crazy. They put a lot of efforts into them. i believed this episode would have the same processing.

To be clear this episode should have been a 20/20 i give it a 17/20

I doubt (s)he's warping anime only perspectives. Most of us have learned to take the opinion, rumblings, and grumblings of manga readers with a grain of salt, especially those that make comparisons . Personally, I pay them 0 attention. I only saw the comment because I read yours.

Though I'm a bit late. This was one of the very few things that bothered me in the whole series so far so I did some deep analysis and I believe I figured out what exactly took place during this part. I hope my explanation is satisfactory for you guys as well.

So basically, when the second Kaiser Phoenix hit the first one that Hyunckel was holding back, the power was too much and because Hyunckel was still trying to hold them back, the pressure from the second spell caused them to explode and scatter the flames all around them. So rather than taking a direct hit, like the one Popp took earlier, Hyunckel actually managed to at least scatter the flames around them. That's why it makes sense that Popp told them to switch to attack, because if they had remained trying to shield themselves, they would have been engulfed by the flames eventually. When they went on the offense, Hyunckel used a wave strike to cut through the flames and create an opening for them to be able to move forward and attack while escaping the flames at the same time.

The reason why Hyunckel was able to create an opening with his wave strike, it's because he wasn't taking on a Kaiser Phoenix head on, the flames where already scattered. Had he tried to use wave strike head on, it probably wouldn't have worked. But this still shows how important he was in this scene because since Dai was knocked out, he was the only other person capable of holding not one but two Kaiser Phoenix spells, even if the second one finally overpowered him. This was also thanks to his armor of course.

I hope this explanation makes sense to you guys. I think they just rushed this scene a bit so it wasn't clear at first what happened and it left us questioning how they were able to survive such powerful spells.
