There are even battle nuns in this show lol

What a weird episode. We got fighters taking on monsters outdoors including Akira showing off some of his powers. Oh and despite how deadly the monsters looked, I couldn't take this episode very seriously.

If looking at the interaction between them from Yuuri's perspective, it was romantic and cute for a while until Akira brings the power shit and breaks her bubble. LOL, Now they're communicating with each other through telepathy to keep things between them.

Not gonna lie, Akira's doing a pretty impressive job at managing those powers of his. Putting trust in Yuuri and his comrades out there while doing the quest of taking on those ghouls. Mion had some other plans in mind and then there's Team Red who appeared out of nowhere and started strategizing against Team Green. Now, Team Green has to save those slaves and kill the ghouls at the same time. We also got to see some pretty strange abilities as well.

Nothing out of the ordinary but it was a fine episode.

This Stage 3 of the Team Battle between 3 factions (Blue, Red and Green) is proving to be more difficult as time passes: more influx of participants, and the consequences of that.

Team Green's leader Katsuya has proven to be a real taskforce, and to put Akira and Yuuri in the same room (due to circumstances), they really "prepared" it well. Yuuri almost got caught away, but it's Akira's plan to only trust the selected with his Sophist ability, for a start with Yuuri with Telepathy as a fake (because other people can still assume that his weapon is what they thought). Everyone is an enemy until proven safe, and Akira is only using these as stepping stones for revenge to get back home and avenge against Mion.

With a simple quest announcement from Mion, and the entire game changes into strategy and tactics. Studio A-CAT's CGI is OK with the ghouls, and the dissected groups do their thing....and boy are the leaders (and Katsuya) strong for weaponry with intelligence.

The way that Mion stands with Team Red makes others think that she's siding with them, and their methods, coupled with their abilities, makes them vulnerable and safe using prisoners under their debt. And to make things high, the real event of a large cat ghoul for a final boss, Loanshark Kuroiwa is testing the Mediator Shirasagi to not make the same mistake twice...and Katsuya's ability is secret no more.

Really challenging things aren't we?

Solid episode, Akira and Yuuri continuing to develop chemistry, was dying when she got handed the note only to be disappointed that it wasn’t a confession lol. Team red leaders talking to Mion like that was pretty interesting, they clearly have been here a while to have that type of relationship with her.

Akira is putting in a huge risk revealing his ability to Yuuri, And it can be troublesome if Yuuri is not with Akira if they aren't in a group anymore.

This episode, despite all the confusing action, really confirm that "knowing ability is one thing, know how to use the ability is another thing, completely different".

And that is why I'm so confused.

Anyway, I hope they don't use that condom.

I didn't expect Akira to actually tell his real power to Yuri but now he has to 100% trust her and it will be hard.
The ghoul attack quest is not too interesting though, and I don't really like the CGI but it's good to see more of the other teams and their abilities.

Ability/description used are kinda weird :
Old chief ability doesn't seem to match the description "ability to conclude negotiation peacefully". In order to have consistency (with Akira's ability), Green's leader ability should work after the "person" has started negotiation. However, it's impossible to have a negotiation with a ghoul, so, his ability shouldn't work.

Instead, couldn't they just give him the ability "Able to cancel any damage and send it back through a punch". It's not really clear why his arm is hurt (probably his arm can not handle the power but if that's the case his arm should be a total wreck considering how many punch and how many times stronger they are in comparison with one human).

The guy with the ability to turn people into "slave" : I don't really "believe" he was able to turn that many people into debt so quickly. Sure, he could have used some point to get them something, but debt is supposed to paid back what you borrowed. If you can't, you may have to offer some other stuff. But, some random item should not be able to match with the importance of an Human's life.
In the end, being in debt doesn't mean anything (so it seems too easy). Also, his ability sucks and it's a miracle he was able to get past the first two rounds.

PS : They should have let the old guy having his victory instead of bringing back the uninteresting monster.

Revealing the ability to Yuuri is a risky move, but I believe it might actually pay off. I mean, just look at her, give her one push towards him and she'll be all over him XD

On a serious note, it did allow him to further test his ability and it all worked out pretty well.

Red team showed some really freaky abilities. Literally turned people into slaves and basically order them to just walk into their own deaths...

The old leader has an interesting ability, it did cause some self harm though. That CGI monster should just stay down, but ofcourse it wouldn't be interesting enough for Mion.

The cgi is not very good but they're understandable. Thats why i'm always hope animes with decent story like this should be handled by bigger studio in order to make fighting scene more engaging

I liked the episode overall. the Beginning showed that even with her Super Strength Yuuri is still a girl at the end of the day. When she found the Condom though I was crying! lol

Man Akira trusting his actual power with her and his reaction to Trusting someone...good character development there! I like these two a lot!

I hated the cgi tbh. It looked very out of place which is a comment that's not positive for cgi. That being said, I liked the story here.

I'm glad yuuri and akira are a lot closer now and it was interesting seeing them fight off those monsters

I feel bad for Yuuri. Poor innocent girl expectations was way too far to become real when the dense 'gamer' mc only care about beating the damn game and revenge his thirsty grudges over the annoying-voice kitty lady. At least those scene of bonding moment between them kinda give the idea that it will become more smoother as the time goes more lengthy. Hopefully....

Looks like the old man Leader really living up with the people expectations about why he become the leader of the Green Team. He literally a mediator that pushed everything into a stalemate, and even can forced the opponents to inflict the same damage by taking some percentage of the damage itself to himself. Well, quite risky, if he can't manage to control the opponents into back to the zero state by a certain times. He will take more damage than his limit could handle and received more consequence. But it sure make a sense to believe as how the old man could survive that crappy survival game long enough and why he was chosen to be their leader.

In the other side, Red Team leader also quite crafty to used the quest into their own advantages. Ironic to the old man green team leader situations, by using the slaves under those man ability, he could forced the old man leader into revealing his real ability's t&c. Meanwhile, Akira can not let it slide just like that. Because Mion proved the quest to be not as easy to beat as they thought. Interesting to see Akira's decision, shall he use another ability with the risk of it being disclosed to the enemy above the cliff, or another move? Lets see next....

Pretty good episode! Though I think there was definitely a dip in quality in terms of the visuals this episode.

Glad Akira trusted Yuuri enough for him to reveal his ability, cause that's really a huge risk, if his enemies finds out about his powers he's fucked if he's all alone and with no one to act as an ability relay or something. That means he really trusts her a whole lot plus having someone with him definitely widens the possibilities for his ability, Yuuri was expecting something else though ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), maybe someday.

Poor Ringo though, I hope she gets saved after that ghoul quest. Shirasagi has a pretty strong power as well, shame it's been revealed to the red team. I think imma go ahead and read the manga cause I am really enjoying this and I wanna know what happens next, looking forward to the next episode.

other than bad monster cgi its an okay episode.

from telling yuri his real power Akira can use multiple power,

and the leader power is kinda confusing if you compare the description to when he uses his power to kill the monster

i actually agree with you some of the abilities in This episode were a mess and didn't make a lot of sense like the old man One,also why is there a lot of people in debt This phase barely Started and they are already in the Enemy hands?

OK episode, but this arc is starting to get a little stale.

Like other people are saying, the leader's ability did not make a whole a lot of sense and even the flashback about his past was not explained all that well either. Hopefully these things are brushed up in future episodes

Other than that, not much to say. Aimi's voice is growing on me (definitely fits Yuuri's character).

This is honestly really good. I mean, for a stupid death battle show. It's constantly surpassing my low expectations with some genuine cleverness. In Re:Creators there was a character with a broken ability reliant on another person meeting a condition, and it always bothered me they didn't just arrange a confidant to arbitrarily trigger it, but here we're exploring that with Yuuri.

Do agree with others that some of the new powers we're seeing read pretty iffy. The leader's ability doesn't make much sense at all with its description, and that's a hell of an intuition if they figured it out from what they saw. For the debt guy I'd guess the way he's getting these trades is basically that his group will kill them unless they take his deal, which makes it a life debt. Is pretty wonky, though, and seems odd it'd be allowed to require such specifics like not using their powers trying to fulfill the debt.

This episode made it perfectly clear how this is a complete train wreck of a show that wants to look clever while almost every bit of "clever" is nothing but an ass pull (and I mean from really deep within, brown fingers and all). Oh, this suffering ...

So Akira finally reveled his powers to Yuuri, so , if in case Mion decides to these two lovers against each other, what's gonna stop Yuuri from giving Akira a weak power?

Oh, so them green guys will be up against some Mummies (Ghoul).

Ya know for Mion, to simply just let them those 2 top Red Brass just watch, kinda looks like that they have the same way of thinking especially the Big Boss of them Reds, if that Big Boss of them Reds want to he could have a relationship with Mion.

I don't think it matters if Yuuri knows Akira's real ability since they've literally told so many people he has the cannon ability, he for all intents and purposes just has the cannon ability. They must be using 'think' in place of 'imagine' because if Yuuri knows his ability then I don't see how they could continue to use telepathy unless she just imagines that's his ability. She obviously wouldn't think telepathy was his ability if she knows that it isn't.

I'm sure they'll do something dumb at some point to un-pigeon hole him from the cannon (beyond just telepathy) which will require all of us to ignore basic logic.
There's no need for all this tension.

The directing/animation is too cheap this episode.

Leader was shown to employ his ability without the desperation that would force him to.

The carnage the enslaved players from red team faced and caused was barely animated.

The tactical situation was not presented at all.

Out of funding after 5 episodes? Or just bad directing?

I’ll watch till the end but cant really see how the series will redeem itself. What a pity for the source material.

The way they handled Akira’s power in this ep felt incredibly sketchy.

If Yuuri believes it is “whatever [she] thinks it is” then that’s what it should be when he’s engaged with her (meaning he effectively has no other power when engaged with her).

She doesn’t think that his power is telepathy so how can he use that? If she can just choose whatever she wants to “think” it is (i.e. if think means “imagine), then she could pick literally anything and everything. As it stands, it seems to remove the need for Akira to actually convince others of his powers, which served as a crucial limit on them. Hopefully this will be properly explained, otherwise it may ruin it for me as it won’t be the “period of intelligence” it was billed as (at least on MAL).

Damn, that sly Team Red just sitting watching from the sidelines whilst Team Green's leader gives away his ace move.

Akira lvl'd up his skill quite a bit. Although I wonder how Yuri can both think about Akira's ability as being telepathy and still communicate with him simultaneously. That's something I don't think I could do, tbh.

He could have made her think "my ability is having all abilities" or "doing everything I want" or shit like this to be godlike, if they think you can do everything you can literally do everything so even if she told others there's no problem
Or if you have trust issue you tell more about your ability later on to build up the trust into your omnipower

Anyway, kinda disappointing he just dropped the bomb like that
