At some point I wondered whether this was some kind of torture porn because Reki got hurt very badly.
Kinda disappointed about Tadashi dropping, I wanted to see him compete vs Adam.

the PETTINESS of Adam addressing Reki as the third wheel. I'm lowkey glad Adam won coz if he didnt, he definitely would have pulled a gun on Reki and call it his "love shot technique".

Honestly even if Adam "technically" won, Reki is the real winner here. I'm so proud of him!

Pretty good episode, ADAM had the audacity to call our boy the third wheel, when he himself is the third wheel lmao. Our boy Reki is built like a tank lmao, he got dragged across the road, dragged across a wall, dragged who knows where yet he still put up a fight, betting on the rain was a pretty smart move. The OST when Reki jumped the cliff was awesome, it really felt so skateboard-y you know. Lmao wouldn't call smacking someone full force with a skateboard a technique.

ADAM may have won the battle, but Reki won the war, now all these fuckers can put respecc on Reki's name. Looking forward to the last episode, I wonder if they can end the show satisfyingly.

Hot damn, I was actually on the edge of my seat. Had no idea what was going to go down.
Reki is too gosh darn adorable. OTL I'm just really happy to see him having fun with skating again. ;__;

Also, I darn near cried seeing Reki and Langa being pals again. I live for this type of interaction. You have no idea.

The whole episode was just satisfying. Wuh.

Honestly I have mixed feeling about this episode.

On one hand it's good to see Reki back in action as protagonist.
On another hand, I feel like they wasted 4 episodes to build up this Reki struggle arc, focusing about how talented and untalented differ, and how he can embrace skateboard regardless of where to skate/ who to skate with. (He doesn't NEEDD to be good at S)

Then ep11 lands and show that Reki can do those ridiculous bs action all along without any training. Lenga pulled these miraculous act and explained with his long term snowboarding experience, but Reki has never snowboard even once, so there's no explanation he can pull off that cliff descending trick without training.

Also the fact that Reki going back to S totally defeats the message he learned from ep10. Why focus so much on S, which is an abusive / illegal skating instead of skating in somewhere else and enjoy yourself as a normal person? So Reki is "special" all along? Completely defeat the message they tried to build since ep7.

I rather see Snake beat the shit out of Adam than letting Reki/ Lenga pull some bs and win without merit. Now is back to generic shonen which Reki pull out some bs powerup from nowhere, and Lenga gonna defeat the final boss as finale.

Tbh, I'm disappointed. They should have just let Adam get arrested already. How can he gets away with this many physical abuse against an underage?
If even one person take a video/ stream this on internet, Adam will immediately get arrested. I don't believe no-one ever thought of posting these online.

Basically, all of this. I honestly wanted Reki to lose to Adam (while overcoming his fears and hang-ups, obviously, but still), Langa to lose to Snake (in a very cool and close match), and the final race to be Snake vs Adam. But suddenly the Slime is good enough to humiliate the King, and the determined Snake just up and forfeits to the Eve?

This story has now become so inconsistent with its themes that it's gone from "unpredictable in a good way" to "predictable in the sense that I can always expect it to go back on its own word."

Very fun episode. It was nice to see Langa and Reki talking again. ADAM called Reki a third wheel. Reki was still happy to skate and was very brutal during the competition. Also, Adam tripping was a first and he kinda does deserve it. I love how Reki was still happy and saying skating is fun despite the fact he lost, but to Adam, his win felt like a loss. Tadashi finally noticed that he "needs" to make Adam love skating again (in the right way).

Just a bit about ADAM. So clearly he used to feel free and genuinely happy about skating when he was a kid and a teen and the fact that he was taught that pain is love and the pressure of him having to play a good son's role. Kinda tells why he's messed up in ways and the fun to him is others getting hurt or crushing their passion. I don't hate him, but I kinda feel bad for what he has become, but the things he does are very wrong and hurting people.

Sorry for this analysis thing just felt like writing it. Feel free to disagree with me.
Overall fun episode.^^

For real. This match was so dumb. Reki's sudden power-ups, then him up and becoming popular in S just like he always wanted, then losing to who's quite possibly the best skater of their era by just a hairsbreadth, and that too only cos his wheel broke... I thought this episode was actually really fitting to what we've seen in the show so far.

After spending all that time feeling super depressed and lost in his life-long dream of skateboarding, for him to then regain his sense of self-worth through the help of his close relationship/reconciliation with Langa felt right. Seeing the two of them grow to be so supportive of each other and be able to encourage the other to have fun and be true to themselves is what we've been watching slowly progress throughout each ep. This bond between Reki & Langa is what's made the show so enjoyable to watch & remains a core aspect/The heart of the show.

Reki's self-doubt getting in the way of supporting his friend is something he not only gets over but something he shows an intention to redeem by choosing to shift his perspective to one that allows himself to show his genuine enthusiasm to skate alongside Langa again-regardless of the judgment from others or his own fear of failure.

Also, his seemingly sudden improvement in skating ability in the beef does make some sense. As cliche/stupid as it sounds, in order to skate well or pull off any kind of trick in real life you can't go into it with doubts; you have to believe you can pull it off! Once he was able to do that we were actually able to see the extent of his skating abilities (and his resilient spirit, bc good god was he was stupidly determined to keep skating even after being so beaten tf up by adam.)

Seeing as a lot of what was holding Reki back was his own insecurities/lack of confidence in himself and then considering what we've come to know about his lively, impulsive, and passion-driven character; Him finally being able to say F it and just focus on skating for himself & doing something he loves unapologetically, seems like a very natural conclusion to his internal conflicts the last few episodes.

tldr:
Reki overcoming his insecure sense of self through actively choosing to be happy through prioritizing doing the things he loves (skating & being with his friends) = nice. B)
(I'm literally just some gay who watches anime don't @ me)

Exactly.
I actually don't mind the powerup IF ep7~10 Reki struggle arc doesn't exist.
They could have make Reki a talented from get go to justify ep11.

But instead we wasted 4 episodes to build up Reki's struggle as a "normal person".
And ep10 he finally learned that he shouldn't try to compare himself with others, and doesn't need to be a prodigy to have fun with skateboard. I mean there's a reason he drop out of S for good, because that is just a toxic place with abusive people.

But then ep11 just show us Reki is one of the talented all along, and get famous in S now. So why waste 4 episodes on the moaning then?

I was thinking the theme of the previous 4 episodes is so good, and this episode totally ruins it. It just goes back to the generic protagonist must win with power of friendship trope.

ADAM seriously pissed me off so much during the beef. Can you stop running and hitting your opponent with a skateboard and calling it a technique?? Him tripping was satisfying nonetheless. I get the kind of pressure and toxic environment he's living in but assaulting others is no justification.
Excited to see what's gonna happen in the last episode now.

Also was it just me or did the animation seem a bit off this week?

Ikr, Adam's dance skate was actually fun beforehand, and if opponent is defeated during those dance it's actually show his technique.

But now it's just bs using board to hit people, using fist to punch people.
Like hell, he literally just get down the board, run across the grass in high speed and hit people with a board. Wtf am I watching?
How does that show any of his skills and art in skating?
For the past 2 episodes, they ruin Adam's style as antagonist too.

Exactly. The creators keeping showing us that Adam has had a toxic childhood and stuff but ADAM himself doesn't really seems to care about it?
This guy is just a bully for no reason and gets away with it due to him being the creator of S. That's the most I can figure out about his character aside from his gross infatuation with Langa.

I might be missing something about his character so help me out with it.

Yes, I find Adam's overthetop attitude charming for first 5 episodes.
But for the latest 2 episodes all his charm are gone because of the direction the studio is taking...
His technique and method of violent are tasteless.
They totally wasted this potentially good antagonist.
I don't give a shit about his childhood memory anymore.
They try really hard to make me sympathize him, but I don't sympathize tasteless antagonist.

Feels like some people can't enjoy one simple match, like what was wrong with the rain? I didn't see that one coming and despite Reki losing, he had shit ton of fun despite all the punches he got from ADAM. We ain't searching for realism in this series, I thought everything was clear from the start. I am just happy Reki is back to his old self and got ADAM to be humiliated despite him winning, how can that match be boring?

Agreed. Reki's smart. He's not like Joe, he can't use brute muscle to kick off against rocks and propel. He's not like Cherry who uses an AI to help calculate when it comes to turns. He's not like Miya who's a young prodigy with the physical skills. He's not like Langa who has snowboarding background that gives him a bit of an advantage. He's not like Shadow or Adam who play dirty.

But, that's just it. He's not them. He's Kyan Reki. He knows how to design and customise boards to help give someone an advantage. He would know to keep an eye on the weather reports and be prepared for if it was supposed to rain during a beef, fixing his board accordingly. I mean, he gave Langa's board the same length as a snowboard, the toe clips and the rotating trucks which helped him grow from a beginner who struggled to stay on a skateboard for more than a few seconds to an absolute legend in a short span of time.

Reki also had the advantage of having friends who knew what's what. He was able to learn moves that his friends had used by watching them or by remembering not to flinch like Joe taught him when he and Cherry were teaching him and Langa about how the Love Hug works.

Everything he had been through had built up to this moment, even his time where he doubted himself and lost self-confidence. He grew through that too and was able to face everything without any doubt, knowing doubting himself at such a time would be dangerous...it already happened the first time he went against Adam and found himself feeling overwhelmed.

He's the sort to use his brain to plan for any and all circumstances and then find a way to put them to an advantage.

didn't realise how much I missed seeing reki having fun and smiling..

not @ how adam's "techniques" all involve violently hurting his opponent lol. 50% of that match was so painful to watch. I still can't take seriously his new one which literally involves hitting ur opponent w ur skateboard. are there no rules at all in s? regardless I've lost all interest in the adam / snake subplot- it just bores me at this point. tadashi's angsty teenager really came out this ep.

at least reki's having fun again TT

Adam is ruining the show The rase is already dangerous as it is, why can’t he skate without attempting to murder his opponent. Is this even normal in illegal skateboarding races? I also don’t understand why skateboarding needs to be this life threatening to be enjoyable at least many characters in the show acknowledges that
Reki is an idiot for accepting Adam invitation.

I really loved the episode! It was the best seeing Reki show his skills! in the end it was not that he wasn't good enough, he was just trying to copy Langa's tricks, he didn't have that snowboarding background to pull them off but he could use his own techniques and skills to get ahead of ADAM. It was a great development for him, showing how great he can be when he is having fun and not comparing himself to the others. The rain part was really interesting, Reki prepared himself for that and knew that was his opportunity to beat ADAM.

ADAM won but in the end he was all alone, the shame he felt when falling, the fact that he knew he was all alone may him angry but at the same time I think is the trigger he needs to learn again what skaterboarding is about.

Tadashi was also wrong, he wanted to stop ADAM so much that he also forgot that skating was about having fun, he decided to forfeit since he knows that he is not able to teach ADAM again how to have fun since he also stopped enjoying it a long time ago.

What I disagree is the fact that we didn't get to see how he got his "S" pin back... I actually wanted Miya to give it to him. They should remove the scene where he gives it up because he's gonna get it back like nothing? maybe because they needed another episode to conclude most of those things.

The animation dropped a lot but they will fix it in the bluray version, the same happened with Haikyuu. Those tight schedules for the poor animators :( but when we get the final version its gonna look better :D

I think it was cool that Reki actually almost won against adam. It showed that he may lack some physical skills the others have but he‘s always been smart and knows a lot about skateboarding so he kinda found a way to be equal to adam. I think the message was no matter if there‘s people better than you, if you love what you‘re doing and work hard you can find a way to get good somehow.

I‘m really sad that the show is going to end so soon. I have no predictions for the ending literally everything can happen but i‘m sure it will be a happy end.

Lots of Tadashi in this episode, I liked that.

A VERY exciting episode, that was fun! It was adorable how Langa kept believing in Reki all the way to the finish while everyone else kept doubting him. This episode possessed a great balance of action and wholesomeness.

I laughed at “The Third Wheel” lollllollll

So niceeeee to see Langa & Reki on good terms again. Reki was so cute when he was talking about fun vs fan. We fix what is broken♡

Ideal last episode: they all ditch S. Reki and Langa race elsewhere. They don’t need S to skate. Enough Adam alr! Just show him making amends with Tadashi would be good enough. He’ll probably end up in jail what with that side story of that female investigator.

Adam needs help. Tadashi please get him a therapist or something. He wasn’t even skating. That was full on causing grievous hurt & intended harm. They should sue his dramatic & violent ass. That was cute tho when the ED changed to Tadashi catching him.

ADAM WAS DRESSED FOR THE OCCASION BECUASE HE LOOKED LIKE A CLOWN IN THAT MUD AND EVEN AFTER THE RACE
now we just need Tadashi to make him change his ways maybe?

nice that cherry left Carla for shadow to watch in hospital

The Adam stuff if dumb as fck at times, dude spends more time off his board than on and that he actually considers clotheslining someone with his board is a technique is moronic.
I think that's the point, even his childhood friend says it, the man doesn't enjoy skating anymore that might be why he is a moron when he is standing on one instead of enjoying it like Reki

I think this has been my favorite beef so far, especially now that Reki FINALLY got his redemption. GO REKI MY BOY. He did so well, using his knowledge of skating to help him win as well as having a few tricks up his sleeve. It was hella satisfying too seeing Adam trip up there, he deserved that 1000%. I'm kinda upset that Reki didn't win after all that, but it felt really good that he finally got the recognition he deserved and even though he lost, people were cheering his name.

I really wish Tadashi didn't forfeit and that he was the one to go up against Adam... especially since the Adam and Tadashi issue isn't resolved. I guess I could say I saw that coming though since the show really wants to push the Adam vs Langa agenda 🤷

Anyways, most importantly I'm just really happy that Reki and Langa are smiling again and are happy skating with each other again 🥰 Those last few episodes were a huge pain for me seeing them like that lol.

Aww I was looking forward to Adam vs. Tadashi. lmao he called Reiki a third wheel. He makes the show entertaining for me. I wonder if Adam will enjoy skating again and return to being good. I really want him and Tadashi to become close again just like how they were when they were children. The race was really exciting it was obvious Reiki would lose no way in hell would he have been able to beat Adam. I think Langa will be able to beat Adam though.

To me, the worst episode of sk8 without a doubt. I adore Reki and I'm really happy he will continue skating even though he realized he may not get at the same level as Langa for example.

The plot convenience was a bit too much for me during their beef. But I liked that Reki used a specific wheel taking into consideration the weather. Smart move.

Another thing that bothered me was that we already know that the finale will be Langa x Adam. I really wanted to see Tadashi showing how good he can be and defeating Adam in the last beef. They have a story together, so it would be nice to see Adam loosing to a friend (although he doesn't treat Tadashi as a friend anymore).

It was cheesy and I DON'T love it.

This was the worst episode. Reki became the Marty Stu(for me).
He tells the manager that he is not like Langa, and then immediately agrees to the challenge (like Langa). This brings him back to the beginning of the story. There is no character development. He didn't recognize anything. And this long-long-long drama didn't give him anything.

Reki is not Langa, he does not have enough experience, he does not have special skills, his body is weak. But he jumped off the cliff and didn't hurt himself anything. Simply because the autors wanted it that way. This humiliates the efforts of other heroes (Langa, Cherry, Joe). Why should you train for years when desire is enough and you can jump even better?
He received so much damage, but calmly dodges the board. It looks silly. At the finish line, he skated at the same speed as Adam, who is several times faster than him.

For me, this is an indicator that the autors could not adequately write the Reki's character. And they just gave him super powers. This does not cause sympathy for him.

When all people shout "he isn't redhead, he is Reki" - it's awfull. There are diffrents betwen talanted people and normal. I hoped that autors help Reki to understand, that's it's doesn't matter if you not so cool, like your friend (but you can make cool skateboards - it's your talent). And he could be happy without approval from strangers, but with approval from his friends. They showed us that he likes simply skating with his old friend (not S). And after that autors gave him all. Like he's real Marty Stu. It's borring and silly.

I am glad that Adam is beginning to see his mistakes. I hope for a happy ending for him. But not Reki was supposed to help him see the truth (my opinion).
