Not long ago, demon slayer has not only became the #1 highest grossing animated movie in Japan (which also means highest grossing film of Japan 'either animated or not' in Japan) but it has also become the #1 Japanese film worldwide. Obviously #1 movies of Japan are anime movies. SO WILL IT BECOME THE FIRST EVER JAPANESE ANIME MOVIE/ JAPANESE MOVIE TO HIT 400 MILLION USD? Edit: It has crossed 400 million USD a good time ago. It's time to see if it hit half a billion mark. Another EDIT:- It is said to have crossed 500 Million USD mark. |

"I think I wanted to attack something. Like betraying people or hurting people. And, well, it's not exactly nice, but hurting the readers too... In all honestly, I feel that's what I really wanted to do. For me, as a reader, when I think, "this manga will remain in my heart," it means, for example, it phenomenally hurt me: It's those kinds of experiences I'm after." - Pajime Hisayama (My favourite hurting author). |

Probably. At the rate it’s going, I wouldn’t be surprised. I just wish it was out on Crunchyroll or some other streaming platform so I could experience it and judge for myself. |

I don't think it'll happen since no one in the US is going to the cinema anymore (thanks to Trump's mishandling of COVID). Funimation will probably just stream it instead, like what Disney+ did with Soul, or maybe they'll pull a HBO Max and put it in theaters too. |

Best part of this comment is that there is an arc called the Infinite Fortress, lmao. Gotouge didn´t put too much thought into their sagas. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I mean, good for them. I don´t care that much to be honest. By this point I expect them to animate the whole thing, which is cool because there are 2 moments I am looking forward to, but I wonder how people are going to receive the floppy ending the manga got. Because holy hell, it´s such a bad arc and bad ending, it felt very Naruto-like. |

I luv how some people in this thread are undermining the film by bringing up accumulated revenue from other franchises across TV Shows or money produced over several years. Somehow yall feel threatened that a series' you consider mid asf is somehow making more than your favorite show Lmao |

Probably, and fair play to it. It's nothing extraordinary, but it must be doing something right in the Japanese market for it to become such a big hit. Revenue is never normally an indicator of quality, but it's certainly a good indicator of how well-loved and popular a particular series is. |

I love when this haters get salty with demon slayer success too much salt comparing whole series like Pokemon,db which came in 90s whole revenue to single movie haha single movie can threatened them this much to act like no life I can't wait for 2 nd season when all anime airing that season get underwhelm by demon slayer |
