As expected, the MC Maeshima joins the winter-skating team, but still going solo.

Everything is as typical of number24's plot of seniors teaching newbies and Try Knights's plot of the ego-licious MC challenging veteran members, and learning skills the hard way, the bets of members leaving the club and blah blah blah. If you're here to see bishounen boys doing figure skating, then yes. If you're here for plot, it's just character development "plot drama", nothing to write home about.

Yes, aim for the Nationals in a fight full of pride, ego and revenge just to prove cases. Fight for the best of your abilities and move on.

I'd think going forward, it's more of how Code Geass director Gorou Taniguchi aims to change the plot somewhat. Right now, it's resting on bread-and-butter average decency.

They're highschoolers that act like actual highschoolers, I'm used to highschoolers that act like adult so I've to adjust my taste for a while. But it shouldn't be a problem in a long term.

I also choose my favorite boy now, it's Souta Jounouchi, I love his wildness and his motivation to be an alpha male, he'd make a good bottom..... I mean guard!!!! (Are positions in rinks metaphor for position in bed? Lead = top, guard = bottom, wing = reversible)

I’m glad that they at least got the proportions right & they don’t have have the daddy long limbs animation problem during their skates.

Sho-chan was actually really nice to Maeshima. He even tried to persuade Kiriyama & looks remotely concerned for him. I mean. I wouldn’t go as far to say Maeshima’s being annoying but he was pretty rude to their team. And just always assuming that he’s better than them & would always win them.

I like how the coach was just chillin lol but I guess & hope there would be more to his character

but i’ll probably remember over and over again
you were there and everyone else was there

KANLen, I have to disagree with your thoughts so far; I mean, it is still the 2nd episode, after all in addition to the fact that it wasn't exactly the same as either of those imo. It seems interesting enough so far, though.

Ok episode. The white haired skater didn’t forget about the mc, he’s going to watch their match. I want to see more of Akimitsu.

Maeshima x Sasugai is ship of the season, and also lol at everyone acting like Maeshima is some untrained puppy, cute.

Definitely feels like Maeshima needs Sasugai to shine, he knows what to say or do to get him to straighten up and realizing things.

Fun episode.

It could go either way, just saying my opinions 1st to where this could go, if you read my last sentence:

Pretty decent episode. Reo seems to actually like the idea of Maeshima coming back, though. He smiled a bit when he heard he was having a team competition. I find it funny how Sasugai knows exactly what to say to ""tame"" Maeshima and control the flow of the cast, he's really good with words. I'm looking forward to learning more about this coach. I get he's in rehab but he's just been a placeholder for them. Sasugai's getting him motivated, too.

Ah, that makes sense. My apologies~

One just random thing is I wonder how the timing/pacing will be for this / I hope it's not too rushed.

This is pretty interesting so far. But I find Maeshima and Sasugai super annoying so hopefully they both get knocked down a few pegs by the older members.

Himekawa is perfect. Bless Umehara, the love of my life.

I'm not the type of watcher who drops anime, because in my heart dropping one doesn't feel right to me. But if I remove that flimsy attitude of mine, I am about to drop SLS this episode.

Idk man but something about our protagonist Maeshima does not connect with me. Yeah it really screams of shounen MC attitude, but cmon this is kinda mediocre. Hayato feels nice but is kinda intimidating to like. And of course we got the supporting teammates and a cardboard Coach. Also lemme tell you now that Reo Shinozaki looks so much like Khun from ToG.

Hope I get to the 3rd episode on positive terms, cos I'm not feeling Skate-Leading Stars yet.

Aren't these guys a bit too old to keep holding childish grudges? I can already say glasses guy is salty as fuck.

Anyways, another decent episode. I had my doubts at first but now I'm actually enjoying Sasugai's "arrogant" personality. The chemistry between him and Kensei is rather entertaining to watch as well.

The Episode do be enjoyable but there were some moments that were just annoying.
The Story in this Episode was really good to me. When Maeshima wanted to join the club it was obvious that they would have said no and in the end it turned the other way to a yes. But some actions which Maeshima made irritated Kiriyama and I always saw the picture where he said "Out" in a tone like a mother would have said it.

Somehow the actions of the character annoyed me but it does have a good thing about it. They are arguing and talking like real Highschool students (like phantomfandom said) and this makes it more realistic. Other School Animes are either too mature or too childish for their age. But of course some of the characters are a bit childish or mature or anything else, but these are their own personality. Not all of them have one personality which everyone has. Anyways! The Characters behaviour were annoying but at least more realistic than others

Conclusiomn: The Episode was a bit annoying and irritating, but it is enjoyable in some parts

(If I forgot to mention anything or got something wrong then I would appreciate a correction)

Maeshima may be pretty cocky, but other than Sasugai, I don't find any of the other characters very likeable so far. SO even if the mc is kind of obnoxious I find myself still rooting for him.

the glasses guy has such a stick up his ass. Still holding a grudge against Maeshima from when he was a child. I wouldn't be surprised if he stays that one dimensional, and maybe only begins to begrudgingly accept Maeshima after some time.

I also keep forgetting Saugai is the same age as everyone else, since he is their "coach". He's a better coach than the other coach. Older coach may be a hottie, but how in the hell is this team gonna win any competitions when going up against other teams if he isn't even coaching them???? I know this is a fictional, made-up sport, but that is kinda dumb.

I will admit the animation of the skating is decent. I was expecting worse. Although we'll see if the animation stays consistent, or if it'll be like YOI was, where in some episodes the animation quality got really really bad. But that mostly had to do with the hellish production schedule YOI had.

This anime def has the advantage of coming out before all these other anime I plan to watch this season. I'll keep watching it for now....

Hope to see some character development soon, all of the characters are pretty annoying. It'd be nice to see the MC (i forget him name, lol) realize that he isn't the best skater in the whole world. I won't drop this show yet; we'll see after next week's episode.

Much better episode than the first. There’s still stuff that reminds me of other sports shows but it’s got it’s merits. Animation is still decent and proportions are actually pretty nice??? I still wouldn’t call this show great, but it’s a little bit above the middle now for me.

What a dull episode. The smug megane is basically carrying the show and this episode he hasn't done much.

I was expecting much more from GC's director.

Better than the first episode, IMO. MC is still not an interesting character to me, but at least he's not as boring as before; his shoutyness and recklessness remind me of Eren a lot. And I don't find it believable that a guy who hasn't been on the ice in awhile (months? years?) is able to do a quadruple flip in a competition without much struggle.

Kiriyama (glasses guy) is kind of annoying, it seems like he's frowning and being angry in literally every scene. He's just as impulsive and childish as Maeshima IMO.

All the characters in this show are annoying and have massive egos that need to be checked, BUT that is a good thing... potentially. If the members of the team begin doing some self-reflection later on, then I would say this is a great episode, but if the show concludes that it’s only the protagonist who needs to check his ego, then I’ll have an issue with this episode because it made me dislike the other characters for no payoff.

Since Toboso Yana had designed the characters, I really wanted to like this, but this was too painful to watch.

The characters are so overly dramatic for no good reason.

Their motivations haven't properly been established, so I don't really care what happens to whom.

Maeshima, Kiriyama, Sasugai and Terauchi were all quite annoying.

Nothing, other than the appearance of some of the characters, is good here.

The way of Maeshima came back to the arena of skating seemed very difficult. No one from his childhood friends accepted him after his previous arrogant rejection and then, he suddenly arrived to join the teams. Their reaction were understandable. Its not because they hated him. Maeshima was just too confident over his glorious performance previously. As a result? He needed to practices more. While Terauchi, the captain, seemed calm but surprisingly enjoying every challenge. That duel would be a good way to showed his talent. Also, Kiriyama, with his hard past, had a long grudges with those white hair prodigy skater. Poor him, but i can't care more. While Jounouchi and Ishikawa might be a great duos in the future with all of their funny dynamics. The others were just fine, not much i can bring up right now to avoid any misinterpreting judgement. But, damn, that Mochizuki really surprised me with his design. I almost mistakenly mention his gender there, to be honestly. Poor that long hair guy too, can't even compete because of his suck ancient injury really burdened him a lot. But, as an overall, its a fine episode. I hope Sasugai could do something better and not just a big talk. Because the wager was just too high to even considerated as a normal bet or challenge. Still, a high risk, got a high return. So, lets see how good their determination to beat each others.

it looks really interesting actually
