This is what you call a copy of the slime isekai except the protagonist is CGI'd this time! Looks like there'll be lots of CGI'd monsters and what not in this show so I need to prepare myself xD. Didn't mind the spider being CGI'd but the frog was ehhh. It was quite weird how the students and the teacher got isekaid into another world. A bolt of lighting comes down on them and boom they in another world. I Don't have high expectations for this show but I want to see where this goes. |

The spider girl is my new waifu... I love the story and characters so it's still very enjoyable, too bad it's by Millepensee so the anime is quite meh, but it's not as bad as I thought |

Great episode. The adaption nails Kumoko character and nice atmosphere of the place where she is. The other details like skill and her gamelike info are there too. The CGI is good and they nicely blend it on 2D. The other reincarnators as well, they capture each character traits. Albeit they jump on their adolescent. The OP and ED are bangers. And the ED is hilarious. Overall very good pilot episode. To the next episode |

If they adapt this properly, the people that think this is a slime ripoff will be in for a surprise. Slime focuses much more in world building and slice of life, while this one will focus on survival for a while. Also, the protagonists are completely different, Rimuru is a much more generic, good guy, kinda boring protagonist compared to the spider girl, putting it mildly. |

A bit slow to get into to but shit the CGi isnt annoying like most and it looks actually watchable, the comedy might have missed but I smiled a bit. Gonna continue and see where this goes, 7/10. |

I confess that of naturally I already have a dislike for anthropomorphic animes, and even more being an isekai (tensei) that abuses 3D made with CGI. Too a spider protagonist does not help in identification, much even doing disgusting things. Lastly i've watched several animes that copy dynamics of gamers, but this one with the “analyze” seems to have exaggerated, it was like watching someone play, and that bothered me. Having said the worst points, the protagonist is cute, has charisma, and it seems interesting to see the evolutionary journey with struggles for her survival. Of course without much hope of caloric value. In addition, despite the very disgusting curriculum of this satff (Berserk 2016), the animation is quite acceptable. |

By all means, call it a Slime ripoff. The harder reality will hit you later. The CGI looked pretty decent so far; I don't get the immediate outrage. I imagine they showed this scene from Shun's side first to establish the situation, and will go through some of his volume 1 viewpoints in the next few episodes. Maybe they will speed it up a bit, but I assume they will at least go through the main points. |

I was hoping they’d have fixed the CG from the trailer we got a year ago, it’s pretty much the same tho. The poisonous toad looked so bad.. the actual 2D art looks great though. The students at the party were solid. Pacing is a bit off but that’s just how it’s always going to be with LN adaptations. If you want the full story, gotta become literate and read. Seeing a lot of people call Kumo a tensura rip off when they both just use common isekai tropes that have been around well before either was published lol. They have similarities like all isekai LNs, but they have their own unique quirks as well. |

People stop comparing this to slime. This has nothing to do with it. This is totally different. I myself think that Spider LN is better than Slime so I have high exceptions for this. ED was blast! Probably the best ED of this winter if not the year. CGI is shit but otherwise show is really good and voice acting is god tier. My only wish is that White Fox should have done this anime... |

It kinda concentrate on s-side than spider side while understandable is a bit disappointed. The 3d model suck and the system 's voice is not fit on the storyline at all too cheary and expressive. Hope it will improve in following episode |

First episode was all in all OK. Compared to the WN the story feels like they are focusing more on the comedic aspects. The manga and LN had a rather humorous visual style so the studio went with that I guess. Not that the WN didn't have comic relief, maybe it was just easier to ignore stuff and let your imagination fill in the gaps since it was all written. For example I always imagined kumoko as a blackish tarantula as a contrast to her bright personality. Anyway, I kinda hope they will focus more on kumoko next episode. Dunno if it tells more about the main human cast or about myself when I say that out of them I liked the most (or disliked the least) Hugo. The best part for me was the OP, it has almost all characters of the LN, including Shiro, Ariel and Sophia |

I'm surprised it looks this good. I remember when the trailer dropped years ago and it looked absolute dogshit, so I was expecting a repeat of Arifureta. But it looks fine? Nothing spectacular, but I also haven't seen anything that would make the stuff people are writing justified. We haven't seen shit yet, calm your itchy fingers. |

GOSH! that's enough video game teminology for one day. It takes a whole five minutes before it has a Skill Names as Large Text and is slapping up status screen text on screen. Not just that, there's an invisible announcer that tells her these things. Only a minute or two later, she's gaining the skills of monsters she eats, checking off another few important boxes for this kind of crap. Got to fill in the time somehow, I guess, because the animation sure ain't doing it. Or more accurately, the janky CGI. What on earth is up with the framerate here? The frog especially is… not rendered correctly. And then we hit the 16 minute mark of the episode and it smash cuts to a random ball full of random people. They're not discussing anti-spider expeditions, up to generic fantasy coups, their own stat sheets, or anything interesting at all. They're just teenagers hanging out at a ball. They have a magical pet that some of them are bitchy about? What's a point? Did the wrong script get mixed into the pile? What even is this entire stupid scene? It's so bloody by the numbers and generic in every way, from the announced and explained-at-exhaustive-length RPG skills to even eating monsters to gain their skills. SaGa was a bad game! everything is so artificial as if it were a game, but in fact it should not be, this is a total disaster. I want to see those people who said that this was one of the "best isekai's" so you can explain to me what the hell is this trash? |

OxyPerm said: I am very disappointed, too much CG was used, if it didn’t have the CG this anime was going to be good, if there’s going to be unnecessary for the next 23 episodes I’m going to be sad Well uhhh, i dont think the problem is having too much CG, because CG in this is pretty much necessary as animating a ton of monsters, every single episode, is just impossible, and even if you could try it, it would just look worse than it would be in CG. So, although you can complain about the CG being bad, dont about them using too much of it, it is very expected and should not be criticized. |

As a huge fan of the Light Novels and the Manga I can't say I hated it. When I first saw the CG I was quite worried, but it really wasn't all that bad. Episode 1 came out well and the comedy worked quite well. I'm looking forward to seeing how much they end up adapting! |

Just like the Slime anime, I enjoyed the first episode, of course, it didn't blow me away like other new animes. I did like a very brief introduction to her classmates and teacher. I kind of wish I got to see their first reactions like our main character, Kumoko. I'm guessing since the other characters we met are people with status they were probably the popular, smart, etc. people, while our main character was a shut-in and a loner. |

Am I the only one who is actually liking this!? Because, that's my friend, is how you do a CGI... And, no, "Kumo Desu ga Nani ka" was unlike "Tensura", the only similarity is that both reincarnate as monsters (but so does Hajimari no Mahoutsukai, Aporou, Irushia, Kumakishi, and many other isekai MC out there) (For instance, Rimuru doesn't even compare to Post-Apostheosis Shiraori) The earlier episodes/chapters might be a little slow, since unlike other isekai MCs, Shiraori/Kumoko need to learn all the knowledges herself... But after TABOO LV10 Even Ainz Ool Gown have nothing compared to Shiraori's achievements. On another note, who is Fei? Is she/he from the LN? I only read the WN, and from what I've learned somewhere, the LN adds some details from the WN ver. And also, the ED is legit! |

As if dying wasn't horrible enough but being reincarn as a spider as well too huh. Pretty good OP as well. Cannibal spiders though what a way way to encounter them though. Love how the series also pokes fun at the genre as well. The idea of a shut in spider though sure is amusing. Still its nice to see her recover her spirits. The fight against the frog though sure was interesting. Quick reactions and waiting for the right moment to strike really can be devastating even when opponents larger than you. In the human realm looks like we also have some interesting new faces as well. Looks like the mc's friends had reincarn as human beings in this world as well unlike her. Overall a pretty fun opening ep that combined excellent character intros with world introduction and some quirky combat in the form of Kumoko's fight with the frog. Quite curious to see how this tale progresses. Pretty catchy and cheerful ending theme as well that showed well Aoi Yuki's singing talent. |

I want to see those people who said that this was one of the "best isekai's" so you can explain to me what the hell is this trash? You got the skill thing backwards. She didn't got the Acid Resistance skill because the frog had it. She got it because the frog meat is acidic and she takes damage while eating it, this acidic damage gave her enough experience to level up the skill. Also the "invisible voice" is just the system messages. Everyone in the world can hear it and it just gaves messages. You can try to speak with it but it will never answer unless it's a key command (like yes or no when buying a skill). |

Well, the WN ver. did jump back and forth between different perspectives, rather than focusing on only the MC (I don't know about the LN ver. though). But yeah, I agree, these "jumping" aren't really done that smoothly in the anime. The jumps in the WN was only done between chapters as "side stories", not within the chapters themself. That's why I am initialy sus on how they would attempt to adapt this, since there are many such jumps, and most of them are critical to the main story of the MC. But, so far, I guess the adaptation is not bad.... |

It was really good! The CGI ain't great, but it doesn't bother me and i'm usually pretty sensitive about bad CGI. The voice casting is on point so is the character design. No censorship, i was expecting the part where our little spider eat to be censored, but nope, it's there, perhaps not as gore as it should be but it's still alright. As far as i can tell, it doesn't feel rushed, we still have the monologue of the novel and that's a great thing! The only bad point, is that this faggot of beta japanese harem protagonist took half of the episode, sadly i'll have to tolerate this asinine cunt once more, really not looking forward to that, i'll probably just skip the part where he appears as i already know the story. 4/5 for me, good adaptation so far :) |

It's a rather lackluster presentation but a much more deliberate and more thought-out isekai concept than Tensura (not necessarily better, though). Aoi Yuuki is great, even though I'm a bit taken aback by how hamfisted the comedy can feel. The visual presentation was so mixed for me, considering this is the same studio that did the CGI eyerape that was Berserk 2016 and 2017. |

To be honest, in the beginning I didn't like it very much because I wanted to read Kumoko's story continuation badly, but eventually it gets really interesting when you start to realize that there's something weird and making theories of what's really going on. If they can replicate this feeling with the anime I think it can be very interesting and unique compared to other anime. |

Yeah I’m not too hot on this one. It feels like a worse That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and I wasn’t even a big fan of that. There is so much yelling that it grates my ears. The 3D monsters are not rendered the best. The other high school characters were introduced so abrubtly without any real-world introduction. I hope it gets better. |

Man it's rare for me to actually dislike an anime, but I found this really bad. The CGI looks quite terrible in some places, and just doesn't blend well with the backgrounds. The main character is really annoying, especially the monologues. On top of that, she somehow seemed to adapt to being reincarnated as a spider really quickly, and same with everyone else and their reincarnations. This seems really similar to the slime isekai, but everything is handled a lot worse. Opening wasn't great, but the ending song kinda sucked. I wasn't expecting too much, but this was just bad to me. |

I never read any of the Manga or Novels for this but I found that very hard to follow. I had no clue who anyone was or who the Spider was in the other world. It seemed to go from random 1 minute chat with multiple names I couldn't follow the classroom blowing up to a Spider I found cute and funny but I couldn't relate to him/her cause I had no clue who he/she was. Then the reveal of the characters from her classroom at the end may as well just thrown names at me cause I had zero clue who they were. To me it seemed like it tried to squash two episodes into one and failed to deliver a base for new viewers to go from which fans of the Isekai genre have come to expect at this point. Ill rewatch it and see and tune in for Episode 2 but for now...ive no clue. |

This series is amazing. Yuuki Aoi can deliver it, that ED was fantastic lol Can't wait for the next episode |

Full episode is finally out As a whole, this was pretty good but just because Kumoko’s personality carries heavily the whole series. CGI is fine, my grips are other monsters besides Kumoko which don’t look really good. And also, from the OP the awful dragon which was shown some time ago in the pv looks to be the same without improvement. Hopefully I’m wrong. So yeah, they are alternating just like the WN the point of views and that’s a good thing so my eyes can rest from the CGI. The 2D animation looks pretty good tbh. People calling this a slime rip off lmao, Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? infinitely better plot wise than Slime, and honestly, besides the protagonist being reincarnated in a minster they don’t have much in common. I might be pretty biased, but the Kumo’s LN is wayyyy better than Slime’s. Can’t wait for next week. Fingers crossed they’ll do the LN justice. One of the best isekai out there |

That's kinda of the point. This is a puzzle just keep the info in the back of your head, it'll be useful after you collected enough pieces. MegamiRem said: Primo_Itoko said: Thnx man. MegamiRem said: Yuuki Aoi as the spider was really amazing. She did a great job voicing her. I'm fine with the CG and for now this was decent ig. Also yeah this definitely reminds me of slime. Thou I dun think I'll end up liking it as much as slime. Anyway I hope she has a human form someday or I hope I can get used to a spider protag. LN readers spoil me if she has ever turned into a human or not in the LN yet. Akuma_Asta said: Okay can someone spoil me? Will the MC get a human appearance like Rimuru did later on?? yes, it will take a long time to happen though, unlike Rimuru Just knowing that it will happen puts me at ease. Btw will we see it in the anime? Which volume does it happen. Don't know for certain, I'd have to look it up the LN, my memory form the WN is a mess since it's not separated in volumes. But I shouldn't happen in the first season, depending on pace not even in the second, I can DM you after I find out |
