It was sure a really dark episode, I felt bad for Innumael's sister but damn that backstory was really harsh, what a horrible childhood... the situation is still very tense.

WELP, the race to reach Innumael's sister between Leo and the only family of a brother himself, the truth couldn't be farther from injustice.

The mystery elements picking up of several groups that are away from both the Rebels and Leo's available information, but alas for certain, only if they'd see for themselves will they know the truth, and that's what Elfriede of the Rebels did.

An underground research facility of human experimentation to create weapons of mass destruction (not just those shown in Episode 1)...looks like there's a large puzzle to be solved in the Empire's REAL intention against the anti-Imperialists group Headkeeper, not just in value of money, but of manipulation of people also.

I'd think it's safe to say that this show is looking to be another Moriarty the Patriot, but in a different sense.

Another great episode and an episode full of world building as we see this series in the view from 3 different viewpoints, yet not feeling rushed at all (hell, I was surprised when the episode ended)

We have the Empire and the now named smuggler/rebel group of the Headkeeper and there are different motivations flying around at the moment as each character continues to find their feet in this series.

Not much from our fellow smuggler gang this episode but we see the Schaake is indeed a noble as hinted last episode but they are now looking to enter Gutheil, a noble area where they seem to have support for. Unfortunately for them.....

We are now introduced to Diet Member Mary who has revealed that she has an insider source that they will enter Gutheil soon, which can only mean bad things for our fledging heroes. We saw her giving a speech on why she wanted to outlaw guns in episode 1 and we can see her sentiment here, eager to crush the anti-Imperialists smuggling group. What are her other motivations however and why does she know about.....

And that leads us to Elfriede, our Headkeeper agent which is now investigating a traitor in their midst. Money has been flowing out of Headkeeper and into the Ministry of Diseases....and she has to investigate. She sees the experiments, find the ledgers and it leads to...Diet Member Mary. And gets electrocuted before she can do anything else. Damn. Her magic is kinda cool and I love her personality though.

And that's a lot of info in 23 minutes but man, was it entertaining to watch. I love shows like this, their plot keeps on moving and when they start revealing little by little, it gets so engaging because you've kept your focus all this time. I don't know how it'll land but man, it definitely won't be boring.

I haven't even mentioned Leocadio and his friend who seems to be apathetic to Immanuel's sister. Somewhat. And Hermann's backstory was something else, he definitely lived a rough life and he has one sharp mind, devilishly evil, I really like his character.

As the time tickling, three separated route told the different story of them. Leo and his military companion succeeded to reach Inumael sister, and did a lot of flashback about her past life with Inu. Its surely a tough way of life, even remembering Leo to his death friend, long ago. But was it effect much? Nope. As the result, Inu's sister leaked the information where Inumael might be placed. Yeah, surely they were at the Headkeeper's main domain, Gutheil town.

While at their own way, Inumael company shares the reason of them smuggling some heavy weapon. But, actually, there was another reason behind their main reason. The Diet member, Mary Bult worried about the situations, and plan the Imperial military to attack those domain without any mercy. Holy shit!

Its kinda interesting, when the ashes hair girl, Elfriede, did her solo infiltration mission, for the sake of Headkeeper's request giver. At first, she just wanted to leak the information about the real traitor within Headkeeper's organization that led the funds to the Empire and Diet's sake. For her surprised, its actually Mary's scheme to shatterred both of them apart. Both of the Empire and the Headkeeper, would take their own fights, while in the background, she did something hidden from all of them. Why? The reason was on the end, inside that cylinder. What was that? A monster? Lol. What an intriguing situations. And i don't very sure the conditions of Elfriede. I hope she was okay.

Left aside the main deal, it seemed the Empire military had their own complex, among the commander. But, it got post-poned a bit, and went to Herman's dark history. Oh, shit, should i change my view about his sadist personality? Lol, idk, i feel complicated. But its sure understandable at their hectic world seems to forgive that messy problem. Lol at Inumael late shocking expression toward Schaake nobility. Its obvious, you damn Inu!

Well, after these i may see a war at Gutheil. Maybe .... So, for the sake of letting the op to skip, i hope the next episode will give me another good episode like these one. Lets see....

It was a good episode, we learned Hermann’s backstory and how he became who he is right now.

Hermann’s past was messed up, the child of a mistress, he was getting hit by his “father” almost everyday. Hermann’s “father” made his mom commit suicide(or killed her) and his mind got even more messed up. He became a serial killer and stabbed his half brother from his back in the battlefield. They made a good back story to our psychopath character.

Wow this series is getting very interesting and intriguing with each episode! I can't believe that I almost drop it because of the animation when I saw the first episode before. Anyway, I am glad that I stick with it! Looking forward to the next one.

Definitely a traitor in headkeeper sending funds to Mary, the Diet member, that's quite the find the spy made before she got tased unfortunately.

No sympathy for Hermann but that backstory was fucked up, i like how they showed it, too, nice direction.

As for the character i got spoiled on (mentioned it last week), now it's actually revealed that Schaake is from a noble family, she's a Gutheil (literally her name in the MAL character list and i added 1+1 together after the Gutheil domain was mentioned last week).

Her character is still my favourite, she truly feels bad about getting Immanuel involved. Love her outfit at the end of the episode <3

Looks like it's indeed different motivations for every member of this smuggler group, maybe one of them could be the traitor?

Great episode again, this show is super slept on like goddamn. I hope Leo realizes that it was his fault that Innumael ended up with the headkeepers. Honest mistake but, it sure damn ruined Innumael's life and now his sister is involved.

So that's why Hermann is so fucked up in the head, he also had a fucked up childhood. Now I am very worried for Innumael and his sister, what the hell is Hermann gonna do.

Schaake still best girl, looking forward to see the Gutheil city place thing. Also RIP Elfried, I hope she's fine.

At the end it is quite surprising that she is a noble.
I don't remember, did we hear about the Gutheil family before in the series?

I might not be right, but I interpreted it differently, I think Mary is the traitor in the government who is running the Headkeepers.

about the second episode i was about to drop it, but each ending leaves a bit of mystery that inchs me. many things were opened, the the world building is improving, the development of Hermman has deepened and i like to feel its just beginning

still disgus Innumael and still have that discomfort of the premise that the most his important thing was his younger sister and Leo's was his career, when we saw again that his family were more children, they took care of each other and THAT'S WHY he get his work. Leo also seems more empathetic to me, but he is part of the army and that conflicts me. idk its just episode 4 (/。\)

and this1 didnt learn *don't play with food* LOL

Holy hell that was one hell of a sad back story. No wonder Herman is so devious.

oh no! Hermann is totally bad news...
looks like Innumael sister won't survive the torture of Hermann or maybe something different would happen because Leocadio senses something...
5/5.

Wow, that backstory was pretty unexpected, but I love when a crazy character has a crazy backstory too so we can kinda see how did they turn out like the psychopaths they are.
I don't really understand tho why Leo is even thinking about the possibility that Innumael might just got involved with the whole group. I mean, either way, Innumael did kill the red haired dude (i don't rememeber his name) so him sympathizng with Innumael feels a bit off, but oh well.

Knew it the Empire itself is sus...

I guess the Empire created those monsters in the lab.

I didn't understand those scientific explanation the white haired girl was reading...

Herman is targeting Inumael now, I hope nothing happens to Inumael.

Also I hope Herman doesn't torture Inumael's sister.

As far as this episode is concerned, I did not expect to get a backstory for Helman. That certainly got dark. Dude's traumatic past turned him into a serial killer.

Great episode! Poor Elfriede, I fear that the next time we see her she will be a horrible experiment.

Helman's backstory was good but tragic. Taking revenge by killing the son who had done nothing wrong. But he doesn't stop there. And he doesn't care that he ruins his half-sister's life in the process.

How on Earth did he frame the father for the murders? Obviously not by placing fingerprints somewhere. Did he hide the knife in the mansion? Then why wouldn't they just suspect him again?

Who found the knife? He couldn't go to the police and tell them to look for it. If a servant found it, why would he go to the police with a bloody knife? And maybe a piece of a woman's clothing. And again, why wouldn't Helman or someone else be blamed?

Twenty prostitutes? Jack the Ripper is only known for sure to have killed five. There is no way you kill twenty people without being seen along the way, as Jack the Ripper was. No one who saw Helman, even from a distance, would give a description that would match the fatter old man.

A nobleman doesn't go out by himself. And he would have to go to the city alone, without a horse and carriage, many dozens of times to get to twenty victims. It's not like you'd be able to do it, unseen, each time you try. And where does he place his horse, so that it's unseen and unrecognized evey time? You'd need accomplices.

It's just a detail, but why do stories always have to exaggerate numbers? A thousand people died in the battle - no, TEN thousand. The businessman is a multi-millionaire - no, a BILLIONAIRE, from just owning an IT security company for about fifteen years. And so on. More realism in numbers please, story writers.

"Why would he get involved with a smuggling group?" Why did you still have the face to say so? 😤

Commander Helman is the third main character. He smiled happily after stabbing others, which shows that distorted society creates distorted villains. 😱

Also, it seems that everyone in this anime is bitter and pained. What will happen to them is quite expectant. From the end, it should be the Schaake's turn in the next episode.

No wonder commander Helsman turned into such a psychopath with that piece of shit father beating him up and even killed the mother. Well at least on the other side of things, Leo seems to still have a bit of faith in Innumael despite the latter having killed his brother in front of him.

the asshole military leader guy is... an asshole? and so is his one subordinate? i'm shocked... sorry your mom was raped and murdered though, fur real

i didn't realize this was based off some game at first. i can see it though. monsters created via human experiment. part of some government/military clandestine operation. "rebels" and the government fighting each other, with the monsters in the middle of it somehow, and the standard double cross trope at play as well

it's honestly an interesting premise. the show is just ok though. 6+/10 right now
