DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Tbh, after listening to the new OP song several times, I actually really like it. We got more info dump on the case from the past and Keiichi's reaction is kind of what I had expected. Also got to see more of Rena's infamous "Uso da!" That yandere-ish face says it all. I got nostalgia from this episode. That Rena eye at the end though...yikes. |

| Welp, if you're a first time Higurashi watcher, definitely go watch the 2006 version if you're not going to ever read visual novels. They sure spooked me away from watching this adaptation at all with this episode. |
| It was a decent episode. I noticed some differences within the Old Anime and this "sequel", but other than that it entirely plays around the context of Onikakushi or Onidamashi-hen. To be honest, I really didn't feel that much fear to the new Rena's "Uso da" compared to 2006 version, but it's still good. |

| honestly really enjoyed this episode. I think most people were worried about how they would do the tense scenes like renas part. But honestly. they've made it more disturbing than the original in my opinion. Thought it was spooky, It gave me a jump even though I was expecting it lol. can't wait to see how the next episode plays out. I like how they've added more to the spook factor than the deen version :) |

| The whole final half of the episode had me on edge. Loved the scene where Rena comes back and Keiichi with “you’re hiding things and lying to us too” love her psycho face/voice. Super hot. Seems like 23 minutes is never enough for this show, it goes by so quickly and leaves you wanting more and more. Can’t wait for next week to see how Rena being in the house plays out. |

| Yeah that OP song still is one of my favorites this season, but man still does not fit this series whatsoever. What a shame, but atleast I get to bang to the full song from my phone as a regular song to make up for it. Regarding the episode, it was just there. The designs for some reason feel glossier than ever for me in this episode which felt weird. The actual atmosphere still lacks for me but it is an improvement from the previous 2 episodes in that aspect. The music helps a lot over there, even if the actual mystery still isn't interesting or creepy for me. |

Hopefully we get a season 2 for the answers arc. |

| Nothing particularly out of the ordinary this week seemingly... except Rena's "usoda!" outburst felt incredibly botched though, I almost started laughing instead of being creeped out by how silly they made her look there On the other hand, they did a great job with her eyes in some of the shots. Especially the last one at the doorway right at the end was spot on |

| Damn, we are only at episode 3, and this ii already making my mind go crazy with that misterious and creepy aura! Rena personality change really blow me out, she was so creepy! That backstory about Rena, and i dont believe she was there hearing him at phone, that plotwist and clifhanger! I am too curious for more! 24 episodes to go, i dont know how to put what i feel in words, i think i am ready for this! |

| Last parts are always the best. They did a good build up this episode, Rena’s creepy face in Passione style was good too. Can’t wait for the next episode, I hope they can make it as gore as possible. |

| The last 5 minutes really sealed the deal for me! I’m excited for this series. I’m actually enjoying this version of events and that it’s not a scene for scene adaption of the anime and more closely follows the VN. (Wish people would stop complaining, your favourite anime has got a reboot?? Like if you hate it so much don’t watch it). |

| Great buildup episode, and that pay-off in the end there was on-point! Rena's freakin' scary seriously, but the real horror has yet to begin... Seeing Tomitake-san finally is quite the treat too, and that same mannerism and voice is perfect. I still remember re-watching this episode from the Deen version to piece things together and try to keep myself one up but lol looking back now, it didn't help much. Like many others above, the Op. I'm starting to dig it too. |

| I honesty don't like this. It feels like it's just some arcs mashed together and call it a day. Technically speaking you could argue it's something new yeah, but it's also not. It's just being a bit lazy. The animation is also kinda crappy. It's not like Passione has ruined something fun before with their crappy CGI. If I would rate it now, I'd give it a dissapointing but a honest 4/10 or so. *shrug* |

| Listening to Rena's USODA in both the new and old Higurashi, I'd say the old Higurashi beats by an inch. I mean I like the different directions they took shots of that scene. Still a good episode, though. |

| This episode was so freaking scary that it's gives me shivers. The monologue was eerie and Rena was creepy and scary at same time. Unlike some of horror genre anime,Higurashi is actually scary like my own nightmares... I am having scary doubts about next episode... My hands are shaking. |
