| 7.09, really? The low score here made me terribly hesitant to even try Arjuna. Fortunately, one of my favorite AMVs featured this anime: ...making me seriously curious about how an anime could look so amazing and fresh, yet end up with a mere 7.09 here. So I tried it. After finishing it, I still can't understand where MAL's horrendous rating came from -- I mean, are you all watching the horrific dub? Excellent art, originality, visuals, music (Maaya Sakamoto + Yoko Kanno, anyone?). Terrific protagonist as well, but the other semi-main characters -- Chris, Cindy, Tokio -- were really irritating, imo. It featured a wildly engaging start, then dragged mildly in the middle, but concluded in a well-done, uplifting finale. The environmental messages seemed to be such a cause for concern with some reviewers, but they were pretty refreshing to me (though admittedly a bit extreme at times), and didn't seem that overdone. A great watch, really, so don't let its low score deter you from at least trying it. |

Tyestor said: 7 isn't low. In my experience with MAL, people here rate very leniently, so most "good" anime get at least 7.6. Anything lower's a gamble, and anything under 7 usually just isn't worth it. 7.09 is riding that borderline, and seems pretty unjust for such a fresh and interesting title, compared to the hordes of generic, lackluster shows out there. The low score made me pass over Arjuna for a long time, and I probably would never have tried it if it wasn't for the AMV above. |

| When hardly any anime ever makes it to 8.0, I would not consider a 7.09 low... However, I'm not overly impressed by it so far at episode 4. It's a "fine" anime, which in my personal current rating system is a 7/10. Its entertaining enough, but as of yet there's nothing about it that would ever encourage me to ever think of watching it a second time. |

Interesting complaint from someone who rated some generally acclaimed great anime with ridiculously low scores and some generally despised or at least controversial shit with laughably high. |

| 7.09 isn't that low, by my standards or MAL standards. For the most part, anything that's about 6.50 or lower is low by MAL's standards. |
