| They got some accidentally hilarious bareback action going much to the distaste of the old lady but to the amusement of the other onlookers. They almost got run over but Avdol did some great thinking in saving themselves without endangering anyone |

| I wanted to mention my love of Hermit Purple regarding the escalator situation before but I had forgotten to. It started out feeling like a total joke. All the stands were powerful monsters and Joseph could break a camera for spirit photography. It’s like Araki was saying, Joseph is not going to be a fighter this arc, he is the navigator. But as we’ve gone on, Hermit Purple has been proven to have much utility. Being able to show Joseph what he needs to see with cameras, tvs, or even dirt. It also works as a long range grapple, saving him and others occasionally, and it works as a weapon. As much as it’s not as powerful as many stands come off, it’s honestly one of my favorites. The novelty of it rules. As remarked by the characters a few times, Polnareff is the type that often gets into these goofy situations and so, much humour arises from the mostly serious Abdul and the often focused Joseph being put in such an embarrassing situation. It’s definitely nice to see this side of them and get so many blushes, very moe. That misunderstanding when they are stuck together is a massive meme and the main reason I thought Abdul didn’t die when we first saw he got shot. Abdul refused to derail the train for their own safety even though you could potentially argue it due to stopping Dio going to save more people than the train crash would lose. He didn’t think about his own safety first, he thought of the civilians showing more of that heart of his. Taking a moment to stay composed and think as a train charged at them, he dug the two of them to safety. Despite not being a Joestar, Abdul sometimes reminds me of Jonathan more than anyone else in the series. |
