This isn't an isekai. And fanservice in Danmachi novels isn't big enough(and by far) to deserve an ecchi tag.
So yeah... it's fantasy. Have anything against fantasy? Then don't watch fantasy, *smh*

Well, you should be able to see my score on this show, so find out yourself what I think of this show. But I also think that the anime industry and recurring anime and themes are shallow as hell and lack of ingenuity.
However I stay with my point that this is isekai, because isekai is not just a guy (seriously, they can't even think about sending a female over) in a game world, but it has degenerated to a guy being in a fantasy world with stats, sometimes referring to the real world. Leave those two to three references out and you have your fantasy (game)world with stat systems and levels...

Isekai is a setting literally meaning that there is two or more different world and that there's a way to move from one to another. It has NOTHING to do with stats. Alice in wonderlands is an Isekai. Escaflowne is an Isekai. Juuni Kokuki is an isekai. Oh btw, those examples a're all female protagonists, and I have plenty more with female protagonists as well.

So, how is Konosuba then an isekai or shows like Death March to The Parallel World Rhapsody? Because there the characters came from "our" world and are stuck in the other and don't go back. So wouldn't that break your definition as well?

Looks like you're misunderstanding the definition. Just because there exist a way doesn't mean that is has to be available at all time, without conditions, or that it's even both ways.
Being reincarnated counts as a way to go from one world in another. So is being summoned, transfered in any way or form, going through a gate, blablabla. One-sided, two sided, it's isekai.
Isekai in japanese literally means " a different world" or "another world".
Isekai is a SETTING (and not a genre) that means there is at least two worlds, and one or several characters is going to move or moved from one to another.

It's very simple, really. Danmachi is not an isekai, it just has game-like stats (and a decent explanation for it, contrary to plenty of stupid fantasy with stats stuff out there).

Considering the novels cover some much darker themes from here on, and how badly the Sword Oratoria adaptation was butchered to remove any deaths or darker content I'm can't say I'm too optimistic about this. The Ishtar arc is going to severely suffer if they try and sanitise that.

Not only the Ishtar arc, the arc to be most worried about is the Xenos arc. That is probably going to be a complete and utter letdown. Unless of course they decide to stay true to the source. The first season was adapted quite nicely, so there's some hope. Could go either way.
.

They won't adapt through xenos arc unless the movie being placed in cinema in Feb means that the profit from the movie will go to the Series

Isekai (Japanese: 異世界, lit. "different world") is a subgenre of Japanese fantasy light novels, manga, anime, and video games revolving around a normal person from Earth being transported to, reborn or trapped in a parallel universe. Often, this universe already exists in the protagonist's world as a fictional universe, but it may also be unknown to them. The new universe can be an entirely different world where only the protagonist has any memory of their former life, as in Saga of Tanya the Evil, or one that they reincarnate in. It may also be one where a formerly virtual world turns into a real one, such as in Log Horizon and Overlord.

Danmachi isn't an Isekai or a game world.

I find it hard to believe S2 will only adapt 3 volumes. S1 adapted 1-5. The xenos arc stars on vol 9 I believe. Even if it's only a 12 episode adaptation, they'd at least have to start the xenos arc regardless and finish it. They would have to rush it, which is one of the many reasons why I think it's going to be a subpar adaptation.

I really don't think they'll adapt Xenos Arc, more like leave it as a cliffhanger. Too much content in vol. 6, 7, and 8, plenty enough for 12 episodes. Now if they do 24 episodes, they can try to adapt the Xenos Arc but then we would be waiting a long ass time for Season 3.

Dude, if you're gonna be bitter then can you at least not rain on other people's parades? J.C Staff chose to animate a bunch of other anime this year so if they can't deliver on the quality, then that's their own fault, not any of the anime that they animated.

So next season of anime that has nothing to offer other than fanservice. It might be a fun watch, but i wouldn't expect it to be some great anime or anything.
As a LN reader, I can say you're half right. Season 2 will have a fan service, but that's only because one of the setting is the red light district. Even so, this series is quality and don't write it off so quickly.

Bah :( They have material for much more, but better adapt 3 volumes in 12 episodes than 5 in 12 like they did, was hoping for a 24 episode 2nd season though QQ

maybe leave volume 9 for a 2 episode special or something since it's just side stories that don't really affect main story much, only the relations between characters?
