THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Thought this episode was less intense compared to some of the previous others but still retains the school life atmosphere.

At this point, I feel like some of the main characters really established themselves as prominent members of the soccer community. Not to mention, we got more teams making their names of themselves.

Everyone is also training so hard...even braving the water and storm!

Didn't think not only Wakabayashi but also Misaki would be mentioned!

Wakabayashi in Germany and Misaki in France. Wakabayashi is active even though in 2nd team. Misaki attracts little kids, and he still remembers Tsubasa.

The two guys who watched their games suddenly decided to go back and practice.

Introducing other teams that want to defeat Tsubasa team.

Hyuga guy really went to find the coach and regain his harsh personality. Because of his disappearance (going there without letting others know), the current coach is mad and wanting to take off his position in the school and team.

Okinawa in typhoon, and Hyuga guy still training. The Okinawa team doesn't understand why he has to do it. He has recovered.

Game starts. That prince player came as an audience.

Their first game vs. the the two guys, who enters for the first time.

Hyuga guy hearing the coach's seriousness for the first time.

ED w. Wakabayashi & Misaki ver.

Noooooo Hyuga :(

I hope we will see him playing in the tournament. If it's not the case, I would be frustrated :(

Decent episode.

Hyuga went to Okinawa to train and get better behind the coach's back and his position in the Toho team is in massive jeopardy. That conflict should be resolved pretty quickly.

Excited to see the next match and see how Tsubasa can do again in the big stage!

I hope they can make this tournament feel different from the previous one.

i already know what will happen to Hyuuga since i watched the older version, but ... did he seriously expect to go 1 week away without telling anyone without any consequences? and he had tons of jobs already, he should know better than that LOL
favorite "new girls" from summer <3 ... click sig for older seasons and more possible picks (rip all the other choices)

I don't remember many things from the original, but I surely remember that training. Hyuga is a beast.

I can imagine how Hyuga's phone must have been beeping all the time, with messages like "where u at" "u alive?" "u wont play in the tournament lol"
Also Misaki is not heard about for years, when he could easily send messages anytime he wants.
I understand the story can't change, while they also make the anime more modern, but damn, sometimes it still seems so ridiculous for me.

I have absolutely no recollection about what's going to happen in this tournament, except for maybe Tsubasa, since it's in also the opening. So I'm quite excited to see this arc.

Why are Nankatsu and that other teams jerseys almost the same? Only their pant color differs but if we speak realistically that would 100% mess the teams up. Couldn't the animators paint one team's jerseys a different color? lol this is gonna be a mess

Oh Hyuga, Did you really expect Mikami wouldn't say anything to you for leaving for a whole week without warning? I actually chuckled a bit when I saw his astonished face xD

It was a good episode, it was also nice to see Misaki again. He's living in France now but for some reason, he didn't contact with his old friends in 3 years. Anyway, I'm glad he's still playing the sport he loves.

Regarding Hyuga, his training was intense as hell but it seems he recovered his hunger. I can't wait to see the moment he faces Tsubasa on the field.

P.S.: Wow, I actually saw a referee threatened a player with expulsion. Now, I wonder if any player will be expelled in this tournament, that would be something new to see in this series. I just hope Hyuga to not be that player.

I was very happy to see Genzo again! And Misaki too, but specially Genzo! Even though the original story is from the 80's, I think Misaki could contact his friends in Japan, sending a letter, maybe, or a mail or phone call in this new adaptation...

And there it was! Kojiro's epic training in Okinawa! I think a human, normally, wouldn't resist a typhon like that, but it's anime, anyway XD But I'm hyped to see Kojiro's wild personality again!

So they didn't change the source material.
Why though? Wakabayashi playing for a 2nd league team in Germany is just dumb.
Unlike when the Manga was written and the HSV was still one of the top 3 in the country.

Good episode.

I'm glad they adapted the overseas bits with Genzou and Misaki, would've been a shame to leave that out. I also hope they adapt more of the Europe content following Misaki, it's always nice to see him.

Hyuga with the dangerous training. xD
He certainly shouldn't have expected to have gotten easily after disappearing for a week like that.

Nankatsu had a red jersey in the original anime, looks like their keeping the blue versions in this one.

Idk why but Soda reminds me of Urameshi Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho. xD

Well, by the time they (hopefully) adapt the arcs where he play for the Hamburg 1st team i think they surely will be back to the first division

More drama around Hyûga !

5/5

@Lelouch0202 I thought the same when I was a kid. So I'll solve the enigma for you: it's the hair grease addiction.

In the end, it doesn't make it more modern aside from a surface level.
The tel.message scene looked like a letter reading, no need to change then since it produces weird artifacts everywhere around.

@TheBloodyMonday I think a letter was ssufficient. But God forbid that we see such an antique communication device in this "modern" take. Nowadays, it would never occur to people to write a letter to their relatives when they're abroad ! Modernity first :v

from the script you can see they haven't even tried to fit the story to 2018 phones, disappeared? yeah right.

hope the games will be worth all this build up.

Misaki was just chilling in France

The coach won’t allow Hyuga to play, let’s see how long that stands.

This new dude is a jerk.
