Ribbon-chan a.k.a Yuko has done a complete 180 from Season 1.

She went from being the most hated character to one of the most loved. If she keeps this up, she'll be a waifu

She's adorable. She's really come a long way. Good character development.

Yet another episode that felt like 5 minutes. Once again, the feel of this show is so natural and relaxed.

Really not a fan of when shows throw in drama which could be resolved easily in a more realistic situation. Kind of detracts from the viewing experience sometimes.

I think Hibike Euphonium 2 Electric Boogaloo sometimes forgets about its strongest aspect: The music. The more it sticks with that the stronger it can be.

I like the show but I want to love it. I can't at the moment.

For almost the entirety of this episode I was just thinking man this is garbage. Who gives a crap about Yuuko and Natsuki. I hate Nozomi's manly sounding Touyama Nao voice wtf. Mizore is aight but I seriously just dont give a crap about her. The whole drama shit is pretty annoying. Pretty much at this point the only thing this episode had going for it was the TOP NOTCH QUALITY

but the ending with Kumiko and Reina made me realize that I still love this show and why I love it. I hope it gets back to them

After Chuunibyou and Haruhi Suzumiya this anime might be my 3rd favorite work from KyoAni.

Great character development for others everyone seems to be disappointed by the fact that the drama was all around a simple misunderstanding and therefore a bit cheap and unrealistic but imo misunderstandings do happen irl and can be quite pain for actual relations between people.

It's great to see even side characters getting their development but can we please have an arc that focuses on Asuka. She is my favorite girl I'd like to see more dynamic/depth to her character

Not really a fan of this kind of drama, seems kind of overblown to me. It was still an alright episode.

I never expected to like Yuko but she has really shown a different side of herself this season which is great.

Now waiting for the Asuka arc...

Amazing and very touching ep. Great that it the outcome were good and the friendship between Mizore and Nozaki-senpai is getting moving again. When she played in end the music were very emotional, so from now she shouldn't have a big problem playing the solo. The only question is will Nozaki-senpai come back to the ensemble. Probably after this ep., but it would be lovely if she could play in the competition too. She is very good flute player so we all would love that. :)

- What I loved very much with this ep. is the reaction Mizore had on her face when she first saw Nozaki-senpai. You could clearly see it weren't hatred, but rather surprised and maybe a bit scared face. It actually went good with the story when we later found out she didn't hate Nozaki, but was just to scared to face and get the truth.

Great to see Kumiko-chan can help the ensemble in her own way. The only thing I would like a bit more focus on is her sister, but since this anime is about the ensemble club and primarily on those four main characters, I don't think we will see that.

Couldn't agree more. This is more realistic than if they were going to make much more drama. And actually there are people that are too afraid to ask and live with a assumption for a very long time.

That was some pretty extreme drama given the situation, but it was handled alright. Mizore isn't exactly an expert at social situations, so it'd make sense for her to blow a misunderstanding like that out of proportion, and Yuuko has already been established as the biggest drama queen in the band, so yeah.

Yuuko's character's been consistent, yet this development made her really likeable, sincere & cares for all her friends. That tsun talk with Natsuki was cute.
Kumiko: more waaah~~, crapcrapcrap...
The resolve & directing with Mizore cry-hugging-knee was excellent. Kumiko was kinda pointless, but Yuuko & Nozomi very key to bringing the issue to a close. Simple stupid misunderstandings of Nozomi, self proclaimed airhead stupid, and Mizore loner with some autist & trauma hints. But each of their reasoning was very specific & personal, like how Mizore stayed since oboe was the only connection to her best friend, exactly why Nozomi didn't tell her & what Mizore means to Yuuko.
But lol Yuuko parts lots of yuribait shots if taken out of context.
I only thought Asuka scary before, now she closer to scum, trying to sweep away & delay anything inconvenient to her, and viewing people with that cynical pov.
I knew Reina would say that lol, fits her character. Actually didn't think she'd ever play for Taki sensei but guess that makes sense too.

The payoff episode. It seems like the problem kind of solved itself - the only solution that was ever going to be viable was Mizore and Nozomi facing each other and talking it out. Seems obvious, but it was a nightmare for Mizore, because what if Nozomi truly didn't care about her? I think this might be a parallel to Reina's torment: she will only be free if she confesses to Taki and gets an answer, any answer. It's still a huge relief that Reina plays for herself, that really is the safest.

Pen3 said:
She always did cared for others. [Yuuko] is loyal to a fault.

Now that you say it, this is very accurate. Her loyalty and compassion are her both greatest strength and flaw. So far she's the character with the best payoff, aside from Kumiko and Reina. It's also worth noting that we only hated her in season one because we were watching from Kumiko's perspective, which only came to overlap with Yuuko's in this season.

Kumiko, you will have to steal Asuka's hair while she's sleeping. That's where she keeps her secrets. It's the only way.

So ten days until the Kansai competition and they seem to be the 16th performance, the nerves though. Nozomi finally gave up on rejoining I guess Asuka didn't budge, I understand too she would have contributed less to its success. The emotional moment between Nozomi and Mizore was lukewarm for me, it didn't do much it was cheesy and cliché.

Also Asuka is one difficult character to understand, you don't know what she's thinking.

I honestly was expecting more, but it was fine and I can see why girls in that age would feel hurt over something like this(yeah I know people similar to that)but you seriously have to be hypersensitive to make such a big deal out of it. Also a bit self centered.

Episode didn't feel that emotional to me,tho, but rather due to the weak build up and presentation.

after rewatching it i def agree with you on how the misunderstanding took a 180 which shouldve been something taken care of easily, maybe its mizores persona which brought about her reacting in that way but i also blame some of the 2nd and 3rd years for not helping those two make peace all in all was still a pretty good eps damn near cried lol

Feel really disappointed...
I understood Yuuko personality from the 1st season and this episode proved me right, make her the second most liked character imo

The ending with Asuka senpai is better than how the conflict is solved imo

I might have teared up a bit in this episode.

I feel for Mizore so much, mainly because I relate to her myself. Nozumi meant so much to her. She made her loneliness fade away and was left feeling so hurt when Nozumi didn’t even tell her she was quitting the band.
Thankfully it seems things are fixed between them and hopefully everyone can move on.

Drama intense episode, I'm glad mizore and nozomi made up. I understand where mizore's coming at. Nozomi meant world to her. Poor yuko tho, good to see her getting character development this season.

Kumiko is getting caught up with drama of others. I Wonder how it'll affect her.

Reina telling she's playing for herself is soo her or is there more to it?

Asuka becomes way expressive when she's with kumiko. Feels like she's leaking her true personality. I'm excited for asuka arc

Oh, quite the melodrama this episode!

Can’t say I was very impressed considering this has been building up ever since the very first episode to result in such an unfulfilling course of events but it was good that this case has been resolved within this episode. A big hand of applause to Yuuko throughout this second season, and particularly this episode, though, she’s been really considerate and a very different character than what I initially expected from Season 1.

Meanwhile, Natsuki-senpai was awesome as ever and Nozomi-senpai a fun company to keep up with too. I hope there’s more substance to the dreadful past year but I suppose that’s for later.

On another note, we’re slowly getting closer and closer to Asuka-senpai’s arc I imagine and I can’t wait to see her true self beneath the mask(s). Sad that the usual trio of Hazuki, Sapphire and Kumiko is being ignored so far though. At least Kumiko and Reina’s developments are really nice, but I really want to see the four back together like before. Glad for Reina that Taki-sensei isn’t dating that female teacher lol but I hope we get a mini Taki-sensei arc to elevate Reina’s chances for one thing.

Op, sadly, just doesn’t feel as vibrant and supporting as the first but the ED with its authentic visuals certainly stands out a lot more!

I mean, yes, that's very true - but the question is whether or not these pieces of drama are actually worth portraying in the way they were portrayed.

Personally it was most endearing when let-me-rejoin-chan was fumbling over the misunderstanding in-front of oboe-chan and trying to comfort her because it was actually kind of cute, sort-of-adorable, and warming rather than something that appears to try to be on par with a character loss. It was more funny to me thinking how kumiko had to stand there awkwardly watching them

Wow, quite the feels.

I'm glad everything between Nozomi and Mizore got solved. I did not expect that that was the reason why Mizore couldn't face Nozomi. But seeing the flashback of Mizore looking around for Nozomi but not finding her was sad. Although I get Nozomi's reason for not telling Mizore, but from the way things look it does seem like they haven't communicated since Nozomi left the club. Even if she didn't want Mizore to leave, wouldn't it have made sense for her to let Mizore know and why AFTER she left? Instead, it seems like they haven't spoken or seen each other at all. But I'm glad things got resolved. Although I'm not much of a musician or even understand music all that much, I did feel like there was more "soul" to Mizore's playing after it all settled down.

I like this episode in large part due to how Yuuko is here. It's like she's been rehabilitated (for lack of a better word) in my eyes here. Yes, she was annoying in season 1 especially with her admiration for Kaori-senpai and accusations of Taki-sensei playing favourites, but in the end she did all that for someone she cared about that is Kaori-senpai, and here she's doing the same for Mizore.

And for the sake of her friend Mizore, she even asked for help from Kumiko, who she technically has an awkward relationship with. Mizore shouldn't feel like she's alone or abandoned. Yeah, what Nozomi did wasn't what a friend should've done, but she's definitely not alone. I really felt the feels when Yuuko said to Mizore that if that's so, then what is she to her? And yeah, that's something Mizore should really realise. Yuuko isn't just pitying her, Yuuko actually cares about her. I'm glad it all got sorted out, and I hope Mizore now knows even if Nozomi isn't there she's not alone.

That second to last scene of Yuuko and Natsuki interacting was cute though. Natsuki complimenting Yuuko in a roundabout way and Yuuko being all loud about how Natsuki is trying to cheer her up. Those two really are good friends lol

The Kansai competition approaches!

Oh man and I was so curious about that whole mystery of the seconds years that left the club and Mizore/Nozomi's melodrama and shit, they built such a thrilling atmosphere around this potential tragic past of the club and then boom- it's yet again that "hurr I'm a loner with no friends and that scatter brain of friend I had left me durr" cliche that could've been solved if they JUST TALKED like they did this damn episode. Really now,was Kumiko's presence so important that they can talk and clear everything out?
I can't believe I expected something more heavy or serious. The visuals are fantastic and all but the actual story became a let down, it can't be compared to s1.

A very rare but needed comment for melodrama like this, but I view this situation with far more contempt despite Mizore needing help with her social anxiety.
I remember people having an overcoddling mentality about this when it 1st premiered till now.
Yes, this is realistic, but seeing a more rational attempt at solving interpersonal problems is also realistic.
The Genki Ditz & Gloomy Ditz needed to deeply TALK not ignore the issue & hope it disappears!

Basically, if you tend to put Emotions Above Evidence, you're more likely to love melodrama.
But if you try to logically put Evidence Over Emotions, you're more likely to dislike melodrama, I disdain it.

Why is this second season focusing so much on overblown melodrama about two characters who, for all intents and purposes, did not exist at all in season 1? Why should we as viewers care about these two side characters that the second season has so far dedicated all its time? Why has the show basically sidelined its main cast (besides Kumiko intervening in something that has nothing to do with her whatsoever to remind us she actually exists) and most of the music in favour of these two characters and their boring melodrama? Then, if it could be resolved so easily with the two of them simply talking to each other like normal human beings - thank fuck for that side of things at least - why did we need to spend four episodes on it?

I assume this is all set-up for Liz and the Blue Bird, but it still seems like such an odd decision to dedicate this much time to two basically irrelevant characters (who will presumably fade back into irrelevance now that their melodrama is resolved). On the bright side, this was some great character development for Yuuko after how much of a strong negative impression her character left at the end of season 1.

Drama this episode had me dying lol. I mean to think someone was suffering from PTSD because of a reason they made themselves all along isn't anywhere near "emotional" however you see... HOWEVER YOU SEE.

Also it'd have been one thing if this was between characters whom names weren't the only thing we knew about, but no after building up something over the course of last four episodes between two people who weren't even relevant not too long ago, this just falls under the column of "couldn't care less about".

Just hoping this was the last of its kind.
