| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Wakabayashi looks so confident as a goalie. The first half of the match is intense. I really like how they captured the impact of the plays whether it's from the attacking or defending side. The rivalry between players is still pretty entertaining. Some of these kids really want to prove themselves. That number 11 guy is someone to definitely watch out for. |

| This is definitely the best adaptation of Captain Tsubasa ever. The game is so amazing that it doesn't feels like a remake. The effects for the Birdcage tactics was great and Tsubasa goal was so beautiful with that overhead kick. Finally Misaki joins and the golden combi is born. Can't wait for the game to end next episode. |
| Both goals this episode were so epic, really fun episode, we also saw Misaki and Tsubasa doing the first plays together. Wakabayashi singing the ED, that was some unexpected but neat detail! |

| What a terrific episode. That overhead kick was art. The ice bars while Shutetsu was doing the torikago were a great addition even though at the start I thought they were not useful. Tsubasa breaking these bars felt so good. And Kenichi Suzumura singing again... these smalls details. Haven't heard him singing since Kara no Kyoukai lol |

| That was fucking incredible. From the intense first half to the animation and hype of Tsubasa's awesome goal and with Misaki joining in. Also with Wakabayashi now being serious as a captain. This episode had a fantastic showing of football as well as a lot of development. Amazing stuff. Also David Production really shined in this episode. |

| I really enjoyed the images used on the scenes. It certainly became the match more thrilling. The first half of the episode was really intense. Wakabayashi is really good as a goalkeeper, and after that the goal he improved again. The birdcae effect was nicely done. The injury was a big letdown. Misaki with Tsubasa, the golden duo. Their attack is really impressive and they make perfectly for each other. Wakabayashi's shot was powerful! |

| Great episode albeit a little fast paced. They breezed through the second half, the bird cage was played out a lot more dramatically in the original but they went pretty fast here. Absolutely loved that transition for the birdcage shattering and Tsubasa raging forward as an eagle. So good! The overhead kick was as epic as I remember it. XD MISAKI TARO!!!! He's finally here, Taro's the best, love the guy. Tsubasa and Taro's chemistry is such a delight to watch. I was expecting the extra time to go on longer with more Tsubasa and Taro show off but they ended the first half pretty damn fast. Can't wait to see more of Nankatsu's legendary golden duo. Genzou's goal was great too but him singing the ED was definitely the highlight. xD |

| I don't think I've seen any remake as perfect as this, apart from maybe Full metal alchemist brotherhood. The budget is amazing! Would have been funnier if the birdcage name would get replaced with "Park the bus". |

| This episode was lit AF. Tsubasa’s goal was epic af. Wakabayashi with the classic Goal keeper joining forward at a set piece and scoring an epic goal. It was a risky tactic, but it has its rewards if executed right. Golden duo indeed. Hyped for next episode. |

| That shot with wakabayashi in the center as the metaphoric birds escape the cage and the backlighted eagle spreads its wings, utterly dominating him... I have no words to describe how hype it made me. Fkn legendary, perfect shot in a really cool episode. 5/5 |

| Yeah. Even after watching so many iterations its still awesome to see Tsubasa and Taro pair up again. Me listening to the new ED- "Huh. Wakabayashi sings it. Oh! The first one was Tsubasa!!!" ahhhhhh~~ ^_^ Meanwhile dem coaches so rough. |
| "Do it, son! If you can't score here, your father's disowning you! We don't need losers in this family!" Now, this is what I call classic parenting! And I always thought that gloomy guy with yellow sunglasses is Wakabayashi's secret lover or something. They never explained the nature of their relationship before. Turns out, he is his personal coach! And it is only now that he suddenly decided to reveal to his prodigy ward, that goalkeeper actually shouldn't behave as self-absorbed asshole and better be part of the team. Especially if he is the captain! And nothing cures insecurity as good as hearty bitch slap. And Tsubasa, if this keeper is so good at catching balls, stop shooting from outside of penalty area! Just get as close as you can and do with this guy whatever you want. Honestly, this show is so delightfully goofy! Its depiction of football is on par with Redline's depiction of racing. Ridiculous and stupid but passionate and sincere. |

I am so keen for more. ^_^ It is the most faithful adaptation to the manga so far, only the 1983 come this close, but that one had many fillers by the end, and the episodes were too much over extended. I know this doesn't necessarily means it's better, but the manga in my opinion is way better than the past animes we had, so this one is looking really promising. |

| i'm really enjoying this so far, but the commentator is getting on my nerves. wakabayashi deserved that slap. you can't just leave your behind because of personal reasons. tsubasa would've wiped the floor with shutetsu if he wasn't their keeper. |
