And rape is used as a plot device a lot in the manga... so the fact that people are already complaining about this being too much makes me sad they toned it down. If you're going to go offensive, just go all the way. It's the reason I'm still reading the manga tbh, just to see how messed up it gets later on. I'm pretty far ahead and it just gets worse and worse with the abuse. |

| well even if you ignored the over-the-top usage of edginess and the weird concept of combining SAW with magical girl stuff....the pacing is too fast, and some scenes or plot points felt rushed or choppy, imo also, it doesn't help to see a main character being way too "goody-two-shoes"....imo, Aya's situation is worse than Hiro's situation from DitF, because the latter's situation was a lot more understandable. |

| I personally love the manga and like the anime, it might be edgy for some but for me it is kinda nice and unpredictable since I am hella tired of all the cliche anime out there, and for people that compare it to Ousama Game ... come on I've seen that anime and this one cant even be compared to that big piece of s*it |
| Was 7 in the beginning. I increased it to 8 after episode 4. The brother is the best character and continues to entertain me. He's funny. :D I can understand that this show isn't for everyone. But 6.xx is definitely too low. I'd expected it to be between 7.00 and 7.49. |
| Okay.....I will answer this civily and avoid less intelligent buzzwords like "edge", lol. Let's just replace "edge" with "dark and disturbing", shall we? First off, I want to clarify: I do NOT dislike dark and disturbing anime. In fact, I quite like some of them. I liked Madoka Magica. While it was emotionally painful, I LOVED Magical Girl Raising Project/MahoIku Made in Abyss is my favorite anime of 2017.....probably or it's in the top five, at least. ALL of these shows are dark and disturbing.....but the difference is, they were well-written. Mahou Shoujo Site is NOT well-written. At all. Why? All right............let's take it apart, piece by piece: Asagiri's bullying: We were never given a reason on WHY everyone in school hates her so much. Also the extent of their hatred is unfathomable. They are not children; they are demons, stripped of their humanity and compassion..........yet the show is trying to pass them off as human beings. That does not work because children IRL do not act OR talk like this. So it requires the trope "Suspension of Disbelief" which can REALLY take us out of the story because we are not able to take it seriously. Asagiri's abuse at home: Her brother beats the shit out of her regularly. Why can't the parents hear this going on? Why haven't they noticed how unhappy and quiet and dark her eyes are? "Cause that gets in the way of the plot!! WE NEED OUR MC TO BE MISERABLE ALL THE TIME!!!" This writing is lazy. We are being treated like morons who wouldn't ask questions like this. Some people find this.........insulting? I certainly did. Asagiri's misery: There's a saying "Light cannot exist without darkness". Well, just the opposite is true. There is no spot of hope in this show (killing people is just traumatizing our heroine MORE so she isn't gaining happiness from even this "resolution") It also makes NO sense that she would not reach out to SOMEONE; her mother, a teacher, a friend, who can help her situation. On top of all this abysmal, idiotic writing........many people find a show featuring an innocent teenager being TORTURED for an entire episode length very unpleasant to sit through. These are the main reasons why Episode 01 was hated and rated low. These are also the same reasons why OTHER anime review sites feel the exact same way. It's not good, narratively, technically, emotionally, or even ironically enjoyable. Simple as that. The show is far more interested in disturbing you and shocking you than it is in being a good story. And people hate this. |

| Being overly edgy DOES NOT equal good storywriting. To add to it, another problem is that the backstories just seemed to be shoved in just to make viewers sympathize with the characters and somehow make them more likable and/or relatable, even though the story is absolutely all over the place. Right now, I really find it hard to like any of the characters right now, and it's not like I'm trying to hate them, either. Also, this series doesn't seem to know whether or not it wants to be a horror/thriller/psychological or a magical girl series, cause it's not good in trying to be both. |

Good storywriting does not equal to a good anime (at least in my opinion) The most important thing for me is how much the anime entertains me. And so far this show is probably the most entertaining in this season if not the whole year (and yes I'm enjoying this show even more than Hero Academia 3 and stien gate 0 so far) |

The thing is that in terms of storywriting, this series doesn’t seem to be good with that |
