A restaurant with a door that connects to another world, people from the other world go to the restaurant for acclaimed food, or in this case, ale.

Seems incredibly similar to Isekai Shokudou. The novel that Isekai Izakaya is adapted from was released before the Isekai Shokudou light novel. It seems like a coincidence that both shows are so similar, but damn is there really nothing else to make an isekai anime about? Hopefully it will turn out better than the Shokudou.

Either way, I guess it's just another isekai to add to the evergrowing pile.

After reading Vol. 1-2 of the LN, I personally think this one is better. How good will this adaptation be in relation to its source? Time will tell, but it should be fairly simple to adapt.

Now, if we go by aesthetics alone (anime key poster), this one looks it's going to be cheaper by a mile.

If there's food, I'm usually down, but at the same time, I don't really like the character designs.;;
Isekai Shokudou was fun because the characters all looked like they were all from different places, dimensions, and all types of places. These characters are just blah. It's like the characters are just cosplaying as opposed to being from far away lands.

Two isekai anime about food in another world's restaurant vs a trillion slice of life school romcoms. Ironically the uniqueness of these series makes people notice the similarities, whereas nobody would make a comparison between generic school romcom 2367 and generic school romcom 9235, for example.

I enjoyed Shokudou so I'll likely enjoy this too.

It’s also good to mention that this manga came out BEFORE Isekai Shokudou

exactly
Isekai just got adapted first so most people will think this is a rip-off.
Not that it matters, I doubt it's interesting. Isekai was a dissapointment too.

from the trailer it seems like it doesn't have as good a budget as shokudou had, sad but true... and it doesn't look like a isekei anime at all, more like a time travel anime that go's from 1600's to 1800's and brings random people from those timelines.

not to sure about this one...

having seen two episodes, I like resteraunt better, especially how it had far more uniqueness to it, with multiple different customers and such.

Yeah, that's the best part imo, authentic Japanese cooking with subtitles is good.
Other than that it's a bit worse than Isekai Shokudou in about every way. But they're still so similar.

Also, this one focuses on Japanese food while the other one focuses on Western food.

Gotta love the map/directions to the featured restaurant. XD

We still complain about trillions of life school romcoms ecchi harem, but we just don't bother saying it out loud anymore because no one can stop this.

Are you serious, Isekai Shokudou was already bad enough. I'm not going to watch this then.

In short: It is a shittier version of Isekai Shokudou.
(Realized that after the first episode. See my post in the episode thread.)

If you didn't like Isekai Shokudou you probably won't like this as well.
But if you liked Isekai Shokudou there is no guarantee you'll like this one.

In my opinion, the food looks good! I come here for the food anyway. :U

For those debating on checking it out, I'm gonna go ahead and say that your enjoyment might depend on what you're here for. I watch food-related anime; this has food. I watch. If the food looks good then I enjoy. An added plus if there's some plot and character designs that I like. Now this show doesn't really have those pluses as far as I can see, but it does add another element which will hopefully please those who are here for the food... A SEGMENT WITH REAL FOOD!

We have a closing bit that's a little like the closing bit from the Eikoku Ikka, Nihon wo Taberu anime. We get the recipe/get to see how something's made/get information about a certain ingredient/yadda. Eikoku Ikka, Nihon wo Taberu is less likely to give you recipes, so this segment comes as a real treat IF you're here for the food.

If you're here for the characters or their designs or want really nice ones, then it might not be the best thing to watch for you.
If you're here for the plot, then I wouldn't bother (as I'd say with most food-related anime).
If you're here for the setting or whole isekai restaurant premise as opposed to just a restaurant premise, I wouldn't bank your enjoyment on that.
If you're here because you want another Isekai Shokudou, this will come off as a cheaper version to you but only in the elements that Isekai Shokudou did really well in. The elements that Isekai Izakaya: Koto Aitheria no Izakaya Nobu added, in my opinion, make this show something that gives the show another focus.

So if you like food in anime as the main foucs, I'd definitely recommend. If you're not really looking for something where the food is the real focus, then I wouldn't watch.

It's almost as if human relationships are an inherently more worthy subject matter than "what if feeding yakitori to Dullahans," or something.

Nah, who are we kidding, it's the normies who are wrong.

Reminds me of food wars a little bit when they are foodgasming.

All truth though, the Emiya cooking anime is the true contender in the cooking anime category.
