That dancing scene between Reinhard and Marie was slghtly creepy..

I still find Rea's character kinda dull in this show but at least they are making her more relevant. Idk how to feel about Ren this episode. In some ways, I feel like he is prepared to face the dangers ahead while I think he still needs more development.

Felt like a buildup episode. Ren looks a bit out of place sitting at that circle.

Well it was...better than I expected, which is not to say a lot. Passable, essentially. The scenes with Kasumis dad creating Rens body were an odd addition lol.

And I wish they would stop tl'ing foreknowledge as deja vu

Well, it was mostly conversation so they could hardly fuck it up.

Anyway, the Rea scene was handled better in the VN but it's not like I expect that from the anime anyway, and wtf is up with that random flashback about Kasumi's dad at the start. Where is my h scene at the dungeon tho That dancing scene lmao

Also yes "foreknowledge" is specifically different from deja vu and it's cringey af when deja vu is used because it has a different meaning.

this was gold, QUALITY

Hmm so they translated "hadou" as "path to consequence"? I wonder how that will work out.

I always assumed that the translators would receive the scripts or something, but 覇道 = path to consequence, and 未知 = path, seems to imply that they translate by ear.

A build up episode, that answers some plot questions while also clarifying info from that infamous episode 0.

Still, there were some awkward scenes here and there, like the dance and the "rape me" stuff, that literally came out of nowhere in the anime and they could have censured they should have adapted the torture scene instead if they are going with Lotus angle, since the point of Rea was already made.

Also, Kasumi´s dad looked and sounded like Trifa in his first seconds on screen. Did they have to make them so similar? lol

Finally, props to these guys

Well that was good, at least they do info dumb episodes right, i still don't remember why she wanted Ren to make love of her in that scene, in the VN she was rejected but here she ran on her own KEK

A somewhat slow-paced episode that answers some questions.

The animation for the dance scene was awkward lol, but seeing the three colors playing the orchestra and Reinhard speech made it a little better.

Ren's creation felt weird, and somewhat out of place. Yeah, this is a big spoiler for those who are just now playing the VN.

Ren and Rea scene...the scene that I feared the most, mostly because how Rea basically wants Ren's D, and I bet a lot of people will make the "harem" comment, but she actually had a reason. A weird reason, but a reason nonetheless.

Whoho, Reinhard is in the house again...and he brings some info for the anime-only. Nice to see him explaining the swastika thing and Ren's role in all of it, though I fell that because of the purple prose, people would still not understand what Rein goal truly is.

And Marie is back. YEAH!

That laugh at the end.

So, we got another info dump episode. So basically Reinhard is like Saitama, all he wants is a challenge so that he can use his full power but from what we've seen in this show, he is too OP.

At least they explained the role of the swastikas.

What the fuck was Rea saying to Ren in the basement?

Seriously tho they should have saved the Ren revelation until much later, even in the VN you don't see Ren's origin until the very end

Don't understand how you can asked to be raped, still pretty bad that it took 7episodes to finally get a good scene being the conversation between Ren & Reinhard.

No idea why I'm still watching this lol

You might as well start playing the VN if you are a newbie watching the anime because they have already dropped a lot of VN spoilers or read it for the reason of being confused af.

I hope the next ep gets the action in Chapter IX executed well.

The subs called Rusalka "Marie" instead of "Malleus" in episode 1 so they probably do translate it by ear. I doubt they would have messed up like that if they had the script.

The only time where she rape him is the erogame early version of the game "back in 2009", in AA "which is basically the Reltia nua of DI" she get rejected and back off and even call BS on her action

This is the same case like FSN don't expect any Hentai stuff from the anime, heck not even the VN have hentai in it yet

Yep, I have déjà vu. Because it now looks like complete ripoff of FMAB with those rituals and sacrafices.

I mean it was written more than half a decade before FMAB was finished so that's a questionable comparison at best

LOL! Mercury!!
Toth, Imhotep, Melchizedek, and Mercury !. All those are "Hermes Trismegisto", who is said to be the first Wizard in the world, and depending on the traditions in history, always being the one who brings or reveals the teachings of the heavens! What a coincidence, that I'm just watching videos of the story and I find that name haha!

I mean the story is average however you have great character, epic ost, great designs, deep analysis, and God tier villains

The novel is 9\10 imo but the anime adaptation is just horrible not not in term of budget but also how the execute the scenes and character dialogue is mess sometimes because they throw it anyway

I know this is Kickstarter project but any good story if giving good chance may explode and many doesn't get that while other midcore story get popular because it was done with some good attention and paid some budget

Well the series thickens more and more within the episodes which is good and all. But to be honest the execution of the story is well... I won't deny. It's eh. I guess. It makes sense still.

But despite that, everything else is fine for me, I do like the cast and all of that etc. So the episode was more or less info dump, but it was extremely passable to get through some stuff to understand.

Finally caught back up to this after falling off for a bit. It's still ridiculous but I guess it's slightly improved.....that's not saying much but compared to several episodes ago it's ok.

Pretty interesting infodump about the swastikas, let's see how Ren handles all this moving forward.

Oh yeah, and that "rape me" part was cringe. "Rape me" *3 seconds later* "lol jk."
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

I dunno, I still enjoy this series. I understand why some people would dislike it, since you need to actually pay attention to what is going on and make your own conclusions too, instead of getting everything on a silver platter ready for consumption, which people watching anime nowadays are very used to. Or maybe that's just what I think.

Anyway, this is a very entertaining series. I enjoy some of the small details thrown around here and there and I still think this series is not as dumb as so many claim. I have seen far worse and this one is not at all bad.

Good stuff, can't wait for more.

Hahahaha tryhard edgy laughs everyone.
Reinhard's too op, so wants Ren to activate 8 leylines setup by Karl - one of his two fathers, so Reinhard can travel thru a parallel dimension to fight stronger aliens or destroy it & create a stronger world for him that has no deja vu??????????
Wut is Rea saying?
Why did Marie change?
Why are the apostles playing an orchestra?

You know, they should have shown that Ren was artificially created(?) much earlier in the series. It was obvious from the beginning that Ren was special, had powers, etc. but the audience was confused as to why. Since the anime refused to give us any answer or explanation, and Ren started to get more powerful as the episodes went on, I just put 2 and 2 together and figured he was the reincarnation of Mercurius, or Mercurius just transferred his powers to him. But based on the comments I've been reading(especially on Crunchyroll), people are just lost. Showing that Ren was artificially created in the 2nd or 3rd episode of the series would have been a better thing to do.

No idea what was up with that scene with Theresia and Ren in the dungeon. Why she's asking him to make love to her, rape her, or kill her...I have no idea. And that just brings it all back to the main problem with this anime. Everything feels so random - the dialogue, actions of characters; there's just no cohesion. There's an explanation to things, and I'm sure it's obviously better handled in the VN, but it's simply not translating to the anime. The scene with Theresia is a perfect example of that.

Compared to the shitfest which is all the previous episodes has been put. This episode is rather bit better to be fair.

Also Trifa should've escorted and took Ren back to his place, but he isn't here.

Marie changed because Reinhard pierced her heart with his lance in the prior episodes and fill the hole with emotions. The one who played the orchestra are part of Reinhard's legions, in which have pledged fealty to him.
