| Idk how I feel about this. If Riko really not going to get back to the surface, then Nat and others will basically be tossed away from the story. The only way to make them relevant is by sending messages/items back and forth. But if Riko comes back to surface occasionally, then the story wouldn't be as exciting as it seems right now. |
| A much slower episode than the first two. Not bad, by any means, but not much happens. The map of the Abyss was really, really cool. The art of this show is incredible, and one of the best I've seen. Looking forward to the next episode. We finally get to see Riko and Regu explore the Abyss! |

| Aaww, Nat is feeling bit emotional whenever he remember about Riko and Reg are going to the Abyss. But damn, Nat's word about Riko's mother that probably dead after 10 years feels kinda overboard. |

| I was expecting this episode to show them already inside the Abyss, but I gotta say I liked the pacing used here, it sure did deliver with that ending. Next episode the real adventure starts, cant wait! |

| They seem abnormally blind/nonchalant to the circumstances, or is it normal in the setting? Riko acting like departing is not much different to departing for America from Japan or something, when it seems like it's closer to departing for Mars etc |

| Great and sad episode. The structure about Abyss was informative. And by the looks of it, it indeed seems impossible to make it to the surface. I hope Riko isn't optimistic about finding her mother alive. It's best to prepare for worst. I think Nat liked Riko... he should've confessed if that was the case. Who knows if Riko and Reg can actually and miraculously make it to the surface :( The farewell was damn sad. I just wish we can see all these kids together again... |

Though I doubt Leader would agree since Riko and Reg's goal is to venture pass layer 6 (the curse of the abyss being the loss of humanity and possibly death), and have no intention of returning to the surface even again (since returning from the depth of the Abyss will lead to Riko killed by the curse instead.) Won't it be a bit cruel to ask the kids and Leader to join them in their suicidal dive? Asking all the kids (red whistle) venture further below the 1st layer even with veterans like Leader (moon whistle) tagging along is still going to be a suicidal trip. Any red whistle that descend down layer 2 is treated as suicide since even the pursuers might get killed if they continued the pursue. And I bet even with Reg's aid it's still impossible to reach the depth with no casualties. About the kids and Leader appearance later in the story, |

So currently the Abyss explorers heave reached The sixth layer "The Capital of the Unreturned" and beyont that, to those who have reached seventh layer would never be able to go back to the surface because of the Curse of Abyss! The map only tells 20,000 meters so that means there are someone who explored beyond seventh layer and was able to come back!?!? Looks like there is no stopping for Riko & Reg! as they depart! lol at Nat crying because he'll miss Riko. 4/5. |
