Pretty excited for this one since I really enjoyed this SoL series back when I first watched it.

And I would want more Aoi tbh, she's just best in my honest opinion.

OMG! YES! Had no idea there would be a third season, literally just found out. I am so excited for this, I really love this show! Learning about areas and mountains in Japan is really interesting.

I expect we're going to see much more of that new character. Not really sure what else to expect as they've already done the finale with Mt Fuji... so as for hopes I wish we get to see them do stuff other than climbing too. Would be nice to see some school scenes, but I don't think we're getting that. I also hope they're doing long episodes again. I mean 3 min eps are fine, but it would be great with 13 again or maybe even 24 min eps.
It's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.

Definitely excited. Yama no Susume is one of those things that grows on you and you don't even realize it. I find it inspiring as hell, too, in a weird way. I dunno if it's just a "these little anime girls can get active and go climbing/hiking so why can't you" thing, but I always felt like getting outdoors after watching an episode. Heck, I actually drove to a trail after reading some of the manga last week.

And they say anime and manga are bad for your health! :P

Also we should not forget about the upcoming OVA as well, in 2017.

After attending the Hanno event where this was revealed and being around the pleasant mountain town personally, I feel like I'm fully aboard this series now :P

I wasn't that satisfied with how they left the whole Mt. Fuji situation with Aoi back then, hopefully this season will remedy that.

Either way, more Yukachi goodness is something I can't pass up!

Really looking forward to it. It's such a sweet show, probably one of the best in the iyashikei genre.

Extremely hyped up for the new season. The second season was brilliantly made and I've got no real reason to believe they will mess this season up.

That being said, I am curious about what they will be doing with Honoka (the camera girl). They introduced her near the tail end of the second season and aren't paying much attention to her in the advertising, but there's a lot of potential in having her around often. She kinda reminds me of how Aoi was at the beginning of the series, and if Aoi notices this and reflects back on how much she's changed over the course of the series, I'll probably start bawling my eyes out, it would be so perfect.

I loved the second series for the even mix of comedy and slight drama, I hope that continues, I think Honoka's in the main cast too? That'll be interesting.

I really hope they do the same format as season 2. I really liked watching a bunch of 12 minute episodes. It really keeps shows like this fresh as CGDCT can sometimes overstay their welcome around the 16-18 minute mark.

Looking forward to finding out which mountains they climb this season. Will try to add them to my itinerary when I visit Japan in Autumn this year. And more Kokona-chan please, her soothing voice could cure many illnesses.

It looks like we're getting new characters, too! Well, more like ascended extras: Mio and Yuri appeared in S1E1; Yuri(?) is revealed to have gone to middle school with Aoi. They also have speaking roles, appearing in the credits as "classmate girl A" (Yuri, according to Wikipedia) and "classmate girl B" (Mio, ditto). The two of them plus Kasumi also make an appearance and have minor speaking roles in Omoide Present. It doesn't look like they kept the same voice actresses, though, but I fully expect them to keep the same ones from Omoide Present. I couldn't spot them, but they probably have cameos in Second Season, too. In S2E12, the person in front of Aoi in the classroom might be Mio, and to Aoi's right might be Yuri.

EDIT: Screenshots

Given that we're getting more speaking characters, and also the pattern with the length of the specials/OVAs, I'm guessing they're going to make these full-length episodes.

The video opens with 彼女たちの季節は夏から秋に〜: "The girls' season, from summer to fall --"... does that mean this will be two-cour? One can only hope, but I'm sure it just refers to the time in-series.

What a surprise!!! Just surfing around mal and then I found this! Best present the Easter usagi brought this year! ^^ I am a huge fan of the previous episodes and those even made me go to Nihon investigating those locations myself. I explored Takao-san, went to Hanno a couple of times, ate nice cakes from the bakery there, climbed the small mountain there, saw multiple fireworks from there, spent some nights up there, climbed Fuji-san like those girls and so on. Had a lot of fun because of this show! I cant wait seeing the new adventures of the girls and that will be another perfect reason to go back to Nihon in the future (besides „yuru camp“)! … Now I need a third season of „non non biyori“, too! ;D

I'm glad they're keeping the half-ep length. As much as I want more Yama no Susume, its length was one of its strong points.

The smaller prescence of Kokona and Kaede in the PV has me a little concerned, but I'm happy to see more Honoka and I welcome the new girls with open arms. The story at it's core has always really been about Aoi's and Hinata's relationship and how it allows Aoi to come out of her shell. So, it makes a lot of sense that she'd start making friends with people in her class now. Once again, I'm feeling refreshed at how optimistic, yet grounded this series can be.

Ooh, thanks for the info. Also glad to see the shorter length, though the one-cour choice seems interesting. Don't know how to interpret this change.
(Season 4 maybe???)
