I really Got into this I am an older woman type guy myself.
But the Ending actually felt like a betrayal by the author. I've never heard of anyone happy with this. Hell I have friends married to people 12 years older than them its not something they should have avoided.

must have been a surprise cancellation cause this ending was rushed and was awful. It really destroyed the entire story for me.

A more concrete ending would've been nice, but from comments I've read, it seems likely the author was expecting a much longer run than he ended up with... There were a few hints in the last couple chapters that it's not as bad as most seem to post about...

Pretty darn sure that Narumi's mother is convinced that her daughter is going after Jun, for one. The whole last trip home was entirely orchestrated by her mom, who heavily played up her dad's health problems (and who the hell tells a lie to their kid like "the doctors found something bad in his head"?!) The only reason I can come up with is that she felt like her daughter was in danger of acting on her attraction to Jun.

Narumi also asked Jun out twice (before regrettably retreating.) Seemed to me that at the very least Narumi had come to terms with herself that she was genuinely/seriously attracted to him by the end. I find it highly likely that she was restraining herself due to the age issue legally (and possibly legitimate fear that she could lose her livelihood/home if Jun's mom decides to object and fires Narumi for pursuing a relationship with teenage son,) but once he turns 18 and graduates from high school, I'd say all bets were off XD

Given the ending feeling of "and these days will continue" with no changes to the status quo other than Jun & Ririko starting to date, I'd say loli's days are numbered >:3

i think the author thinks/believes that older woman younger guy doesn't work & that's why author wrote it the way he or she did, at the beginning it hinted that older woman & younger guy will end up together, but then out of the blue he ended up with that girl, i like plot twists, but not stupid plot twists

I think it has less to do with whether it would work or not, and more to do with the manga getting axed. At the point the story was at when it suddenly started wrapping up, it would technically have been criminal for Jun/Narumi to hook up. >_<;; The author probably decided it would be less impossible to have Oonuki's confession succeed than to figure out a way to cram in a time skip in order to have a happy ending with Narumi.

Also, keep in mind that "high school girlfriend" does not equal "life-time commitment" ;) Jun was already thinking that he could still go to her hometown if/when he wanted to see Narumi less than a week after he agreed to go out with Oonuki..

lol, the ending was okay for me. but it would be better if Narumi says to Ririko that she would steal Jun if Ririko doesn't keep him good.

or it would be better if Narumi is the one Jun's date. and the accident when Ririko told Jun that she loved him never happened.

I think it's a Japanese thing.

Narumi was never a real possibility.
There are two kinds relationships, practical and impractical.
Ichinose gave up on Jun because he's impractical and went with Misora.
This was supposed to be a heads up for the ending.

I've seen this kind of thing before and I find it very disappointing.

It can work, my wife is 11 years older than me. We'll be married 11 years this Nov. and I was 21 when we finally got married.

There's no doubt in my mind the mangaka was asked to wrap this manga up early. It probably wasn't popular enough.

I almost certain they were going for the Narumi x Jun ending, or at the very least a brief romance between them before realising it wasn't right, but to suddenly have their relationship develop like that would have been beyond silly. They were getting close by the end, but not that close. I think it would have needed another 50 chapters at least with the pacing it had.

Yeah, this certainly reads like it was cancelled. But even if it's true, so many things could've been done better:

1. Show at least a few pages of MC and RiRi actually going out! As it is, it seemed like they wen't back to as if the confession never happened after all.

2. WTF with the gay molester turning straight all the sudden? Should've just cut that subplot off, or better yet made him hook up with the Narumi's sister's BF who it'd turn out was only agree because he was forced to hide his real self all the time...

3. Actual closure for Narumi - maybe she goes off to a manga school or something and wins an award in an epilogue or whatever.

As it is, the actual ending was not an ending at all! The only thing that was tied up, rather badly, was the gay guy's story.

Some 40+ chapter of entertainment is the only thing that keeps the ending from pushing the score below a 7 for me.

I'd like to apologize in advance for the bad language.

I really liked the manga excluding the fucked up ending. So disappointing.
I hope that mangaka knows how much she/he fucked up...
Never reading work from that mangaka again, hate her/him so much for this.

I mean... Why so much development between Narumi and Jun when it just comes down to that little girl (I didn't really like tbh) with no development at all (well, at least I did not see the development)...

I know she was older, but it was not incest or anything like that. I think being with older person is okay everywhere (10 years or more).. Or if it really was a problem, since he wasn't and adult yet, why not make timeskip when Jun is already an adult.. So whyYyyyyAAy???

Just...Bwuueh...so much disappointment... I wasted so much time on this hoping for something good and all I can do now is to let all the rage out here.
Narumi was perfect for him. Meh... Fuck this ending... And fuck you mangaka. Even if it was because she/he had to wrap it up, there should have been better way to end it.

Hope I will find something else to read to wash away the remaining rage, meh..

Fuck. This could've been everything it was building up to be. It could've been amazing. It's not even a real ending... The whole "Narumi is a virgin who is stuck in life" plot thread is still dangling.

I think because this manga ended prematurely the author went with the younger girl because it was just the easier to end to write (no age stigma to deal with).

Incomprehensible ending.

The Riri character had all the signs of the hopeless crush character, not a legitimate interest. The MC did a 180 from not being interested in her at all, to suddenly liking her in 3 chapters.

The Mangaka likely had 3 chapters to "wrap it up" after the publisher deciding to drop it due to lack of popularity.

This is most likely exactly what happened; the author took the easy way out and avoided the age stigma. You can't really do that though, with a manga that's about, well,.. an age stigma. The author was probably notified between working on episodes 43 and 44. Episode 43 still has some strong Narumi scenes, even Jun's dad is back with the usual banter, but most of all Narumi stating that they have "one extra guy", strongly suggests the author intended her to somehow hijack the trip. I also think he intended Riri-chan's attention to shift to the short friend, with the long one going to Komiyama, or the other way around, as a visual joke. Suddenly though, from the school trip onwards, Narumi gets a lot less screentime, and Jun x Riri gets pushed hard.

There are several problems with the ending as it is. For one Riri-chan had no real character whatsoever, and Jun-kun's supposed interest in her on a romantic level is entirely unconvincing. I think not even the author himself liked Riri-chan, as the whole manga he seems to deliberately leave her character underdevelopped, and he drew her in a droopy way. There are plenty of manga which have a shy physically underwhelming character admists giants, but admidsts which they can hold their own. The author can also, quite clearly, draw. Yet straight from the beginning, Riri-chan was drawn with very little body language, a flat face, and fish-tank eyes. She cleary only served as a support for Komiyama issued jokes.

However, everything would have been passable, if it wasn't for one thing, and that is that this ending just leaves Narumi out. If you think about it, Jun-kun has been more or less stable, and the one developping, the real MC, has always been Narumi. The ending matches everyone together, yet reverts Narumi alone back to her chapter 1 state of lonely drinking woman with no real place to go. It literally undoes the whole manga.

and the ending is just a giant fuck you for the publisher and in the end the story/readers are just the collateral

That might have been the intention, but the result is more like a giant fuck you to his readers, a betrayal of his own main characters, and the publisher being the 'collateral' sustaining only a bruised knee.

The only one restraining himself, was the author. Also, it's been made very clear several times, that Jun's parents would've been perfectly fine with it.

WELL THAT JUST RUINED ALL THE GOOD TIME I READ THIS MANGA.

Man, I marathon-ed through all the chapters in one night and that didn't even feel like the last chapter. (and yeah I think it was pretty much axed)

But wtf was that ending, just.....get out, get the f out.

6/10 because the ending, any more seconds I spend thinking about this manga could make it lower so I'm leaving and burying this shit down in my deepest memory.

I was liking this manga quite a bit. But then came this ending. Man wtf ! Jun goes complete 180 from thinking of Riri as a kid to liking her ! This ending was so terrible. All the nurumi x Jun development went to vain. The ending left such a baad taste in my mind. Way to ruin my morning.

I'm more than a little disappointed that Narumi is still single. Is she going to die a virgin? I grew to love her character and couldn't help but hope she would find love. Kind of a lame ending. And what ever happened to the fan service? Did this transition to a G rated family manga at some point?

Well done except for the ultimate plot or story. We could have had a more clear resolution of Narumi's fate.
