----------------------------------------
Akane's narrative has a realistic tone to it.
She still also continuously push her seductive side to Mugi, something that I'm not too surprised by.

A good deal of focus on Akane this episode. I think it gave a better insight about her character especially her personality. Storytelling by timeline, it looks like this is about the time when a new semester begins.

Seems Mugi is realising his mistakes or better said he is realising Akane's personality.
And it seems that Akane learned a thing as well from dating onii's san, she might change a bit.
Still this episode needed a bit more Hanabi in my opinion.

Are Kanai and Mugi Trying to "Save" Akane?

I agree, this episode lacked on Hanabi's pressence

I also think that Mugi is trying to understand his feelings, those flashbacks with Hanabi and... eh the pure Mugi's childhood friend that doesn't deserve the world she's in (yes, i forgot her name, forgive me) made me feel like he is realizing something

The staff really made a lot of change...and that's good since the comic chapters here was just kind of too vague.

But why can I understand both of their thoughts and kept smiling all this eposide? It's not right! Perhaps time to fuck off now and see a psychiatrist instead of typing here xD

Neither of the two guys attempted to save her, but at least in my opinion, they DID save her.

found a way to watch it on animemaniac.
pretty interesting but nothing much happened except Kanai finding out that she's a slut and still accepts her. And more is revealed about Akane, through her and Mugi's point of view. Hopefully this helps Mugi get out of his predicament.

But not enough honey bee this episode.

Oh my god i can't get enough of this anime... Being okay with the one you want to be with being a slut who fucks around and stirs up drama and jealousy... If he's serious then i just became really proud of that guy.

I swear this anime turns me on more than any animated hentai...

Plus the psychology is fucking superb. It's twisted, it's dramatic, it's sexy, it's dark yet it's beautiful, it's grim yet it's strangely optimistic...

I'm amazed every episode to the point of speechlessness.

Akane gets caught up in the flow of the situation because she never fully matured emotionally. She's been stuck in her mindset from when she was in middle/high school, so she still has a childish side to her. It's really rare for an anime to focus on more than one flaw in a character, they usually just stick to one big one a person has. So getting to see multiple degrees of detrimental personality traits made me really happy.

I guess it was important to have an episode focusing on Akane, but, I didn't care for it much. I'm just wondering what Kanai meant when he said what he did. I didn't expect it.

Lol Kanai just basically cucked himself.

Anyway, this episode focused more on Akane and it looks like she could possibly change the way she acts, it'll be interesting to see if that actually happens.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Kanai still wants to be Akane, even though she's a slut. He doesn't care about that. She wasn't expecting that from him. As for Mugi, he still wants to be with her. She's slowly changing a bit.

Mugi's trying so hard to "change" Akane yet he still gives into her games by giving into his carnal desires and fornicating with her.. kinda contradicting himself lol. I'm definitely enjoying Akane's arc tho, but I hope to see more of Hanabi in the next coming episodes.

Pretty good episode, lot of insight into Akane's character.

I liked how Kanai sensei willing to accept who Akane was got her a little confused. Maybe she can change after all? I don't particularly hate Akane too much, so if she can change then that'd be something really nice to see.

Mugi seems to be finally trying to really get Akane. xD

We enter the funniest part of the story.

Kanai sensei is so superficial that he doesn't care about Akane's personality : "Personality? Who cares? I love her pretty face!".

Well there are men like that after all.
Sometimes we say "loves make you blind" but here it's more "my eyes make me love her".

He's the ultimate boring, nice, shallow beta-kun of shounen romance who wants to get the prettiest girl (and gets her). Ha ha ha!

Genuinely amazed that the seemingly irredeemable Akane sensei is getting some character growth, from the least of all the pure hearted Kanai sensei! I thought Mugi was gonna put Akane behind though, seems like he's just falling further in love with her.

I read ahead a long time ago and this episode and the following are the ones i was most excited for. This Mugi/Akane/Kanai constellation is the most interesting of the series IMO.

We see in this episode that it's all about being accepted. Akane went down the ''slut'' path to find a reason to live an interesting life. She's always been this way and now she fears change, probably deep down that she could get rejected while having feelings for the guy.

Now we have Mugi and Kanai who gave two answers to her declaration (one indirectly to Mugi and directly spoken to Kanai). Mugi tells her that he doesn't like it (from his viewpoint, he probably thinks that she wants him to fight for her). Kanai on the other hand straight up accepts her declaration in a heartbeat, that's his way of fighting for her.

Next episode will be awesome, i'm telling you.

I love how they are handling Akane's story.

I feel like Mugi was more... vulnerable in the manga when it comes to Akane. Like. Akane completely topped him. He felt very immature... and idk. like a toy. Here tho. He's a bit more... confident. idk. Maybe it's just his voice-acting which was weak in this arc.

Next episode will have my favorite scene. Gah

I'm a bit confused by Kanai's motives. Did he know about Akane's personality before they started dating? And he still loved her? It seems like he wants to "save" her or "change" her, and it kind of seems to be working. I don't really like that message though because while I know people change they need to change on their own-- too many people stick around in bad relationships waiting for their partner to change. Akane will only change when she chooses to herself.

Agreed, Akane is starting to look more human and I like that they didn't keep her as a total bad guy. I wanted to see Mugi put her behind him, I can't believe how fast he dropped Hanabi... :(

This episode can basically be summed up as "Mugi and Kanai are idiots" seeing as they completely ignore Akane's blatant despicable nature and still stay with her anyway. Still, it was another interesting perspective shift, but the main thing this episode really accomplished is confirming that I'm far more invested in Hanabi than any of the other characters at this point, although that's not to say I don't care about these other characters either.
